The Apocalid split into several groups and quickly consumed Tmus’s territory.
Because the dimensional communication had been cut off by the Apocalid Wave, the Dark Elves remaining in the dimension did not know how the battle had ended.
Consequently, they did not flee and stayed behind, only to be consumed along with the dimension itself.
Kieek!
Kai informed him that Rotiaon and the Dragons were moving toward them in a hurry.
Since Rhodespina wanted frequent status reports, Choi Kangjoong was able to know Rotiaon’s location and troop composition in great detail.
“I should reorganize here before moving. I need to use up all the nutrients I’ve gathered.”
Choi Kangjoong was undeterred even though Rotiaon and the Dragons were coming. Since Kai was watching everything, he could simply withdraw the Apocalid when Rotiaon got close.
“Let’s produce mostly Super Titans and Titan Classes.”
Choi Kangjoong decided to produce 5 Super Titans, 20 Titans, and 40 Light Titans. This brought his total to 10 Super Titans and 160 Titan Classes.
Although he now commanded 140 bio-dimensional ships alone, it still felt insufficient to Choi Kangjoong.
“A true Apocalid should have thousands — no, tens of thousands of Titans.”
The Apocalid was a species that made an entire world tremble in fear just by the fact that it had been targeted.
To avoid being eaten by the predator, a world had to mobilize its entire global capacity, and if that failed, it had to form a union with other worlds.
[Time until mass production of Apocalid is complete: 100:00:00]
“It’ll take a bit over four days. Give the remaining nutrients to Kuongi.”
“Ku-eong.”
Kuongi and the Apocalid dimension were connected by a biotube. Receiving the nutrients, Kuongi grew rapidly.
As its body grew larger, its Chitin Gauntlet cracked, and new Chitin Gauntlets formed in the gaps repeatedly.
Since its length already exceeded 6km, it could reach the size of a Hive Class with just a few more battles.
Choi Kangjoong observed the Sparrow with Twisted Origin while waiting for the mass production to complete. Even after three days, the sparrow showed no significant changes.
‘I think I could try it on a person, but three days is a short time, so I should watch a bit longer.’
It was possible that it might suddenly turn into an Apocalid after several months had passed.
‘Can I change it so that doesn’t happen?’
Choi Kangjoong summoned an Apocalid that had evolved from an ant into a Walker. Having eaten and slept well in the meantime, it was already 1m in size.
Still, it was the smallest among the Walkers.
“Return to being an ant, hup!”
He twisted its origin just a little so it wouldn’t die.
Just like the sparrow, the ant origin was added to the Walker’s origin. However, it was quickly consumed by the Apocalid origin and disappeared.
‘It gets eaten by the Apocalid origin. I need to be careful with this.’
Still, there was progress. He caught another sparrow, added the Apocalid origin, and then reverted it. No particular abnormalities were seen.
A path seemed to be opening up gradually. Nevertheless, since one could not return once they truly became an Apocalid, he had to approach with caution.
‘Still, I can use it in an emergency.’
If he urgently needed Dielka’s power, it seemed possible to slightly twist her origin to deploy her into battle and then restore her to a Dark Elf.
“Oh, right. I should contact Iselin and Dielka.”
There were at least five Dragons to fight this time. Since there was a high probability that the Dragon of the adjacent territory would also join, he had to assume there were six.
“Even if I take one, Lutal takes one, and Kuongi takes one, three would still be left.”
If Iselin and Dielka were asked to handle one each, the number of remaining Dragons would be reduced to one. That much could be handled by the Super Titans and Titans.
Choi Kangjoong moved to Iselin’s office. Today, Iselin was sitting at the table. She took off her glasses and greeted him.
“You’ve come?”
“Why the glasses?”
“Many Elves wear glasses because they have trouble seeing things up close. I wanted to know what it felt like to wear them.”
“A leader has a lot to worry about.”
“The responsibility is that heavy. What’s the matter?”
“I’m fighting some Dragons, and I want you to handle one.”
“For an Outer to ask me for a favor, there must be at least five Dragons.”
Iselin was quick on the uptake.
“Correct. Five are coming, and one more might join.”
“Should I contact Dielka?”
“I was going to go see her.”
“She happens to be here, so let’s talk together.”
“What brings her here?”
“There were some Anti-Magic Shells left over.”
Choi Kangjoong thought that was a very Dielka-like reason. Not long after, Dielka walked in and spoke cheerfully.
“Outer! I heard you need my power?”
“Can you handle one Dragon?”
“Of course! No matter how much of a Dragon it is, it won’t be able to budge once my arrow hits it.”
Dielka sat in the guest chair with her legs crossed. As usual, Arthil brought out Elf Tea and juice. She gave the Elf Tea to Dielka and the juice to Choi Kangjoong.
“I don’t really like Elf Tea.”
Dielka said that, yet she sipped it anyway. To assimilate into Elven noble society, drinking Elf Tea was basic.
“When are we fighting?”
“I think it’ll be about 10 days.”
Rotiaon and the Dragons were moving through Ladespina’s territory. They were moving using Gates, but it took time because Ladespina’s territory was so vast.
“I’ll finally be helpful to the Outer. Should I lead the Knights there too?”
“I don’t think it’ll be necessary.”
“Hey, it’ll still be helpful once we’re there. Besides, no one has anything to do right now. Since the Outer swept everything around here, they’re dying of boredom, you know?”
“Then just bring a few. You only need to be in the rear.”
“Everyone will be happy to be of help to the Outer.”
“I shall go with the Knight Order as well.”
Iselin could not back down while Dielka was leading the Dark Elf Knights. Choi Kangjoong felt a strange tension between the two, and it seemed the scale of the Knight mobilization would become enormous.
“Just bring an appropriate amount. Don’t let Eleanor mess with you again.”
“Hmph. He got hit so hard back then that he can’t even touch us now,” Dielka said.
Iselin also nodded while elegantly drinking her Elf Tea.
“Are those friends not coming this time? Your sister and Han Junghwa.”
“Do you want to see them?”
“It would be nice for me if they came. I’m sure those two would love it as well.”
Choi Kangjoong stroked his chin. Watching the Dragon’s use of magic would certainly be helpful to Choi Yunseo. If Choi Yunseo became stronger, there would be fewer things to worry about, and she would be safer, which would be a relief for Choi Kangjoong. He decided to ask her as soon as he went home.
“Can we go there in advance?”
“I’ll give you the coordinates. There’s nothing there, so you can just come.”
“It’s been a while since things were fun.”
Dielka rubbed her hands together. Iselin found such a Dielka quite interesting. Even though they were clearly the same Elves, there were differences in temperament and body overall.
It wasn’t for nothing that the Dark Elves were notorious as pirates.
Had that not been the case, there would have been no reason for only the Dark Elves to be singled out and exiled from Marsala.
‘If it weren’t for humans, Elves wouldn’t have been able to accept Dark Elves easily.’
Despite the clear racial differences between Asians, Caucasians, and Blacks, humans lived together well as a single species.
Although they were late in encountering the Dimensional Sea, it seemed unlikely they would ever exile an entire race like the Elves did.
If Iselin hadn’t seen these humans and hadn’t found the records hidden by the Elf Great Council, she wouldn’t have even thought of embracing the Dark Elves.
Still, what needed to be maintained had to be maintained. The Dark Elves had to enter the culture of Marsala; they could not be allowed to build a culture unique to themselves.
“Dielka.”
Iselin spoke sharply to Dielka, who had taken off her coat. Dielka was already wearing short pants, and without the coat, there was much more skin showing than what was covered.
“I’m telling you, it’s hot.”
“Did you leave your Spirit at the Spirit Tree?”
“I don’t have a Spirit Tree yet…”
Iselin had been sarcastic on purpose. Dielka pouted and put on her clothes. When she summoned a Spirit of Wind to create a tailwind, her hair fluttered softly.
“Pants like those aren’t allowed here either.”
“Yes…”
When Iselin spoke sternly, Dielka complied while looking dejected.
“I’ll have to educate your children when you have them.”
“Are you already worried about my children? You have a warm side, Princess.”
Dielka was simply not lying, but it ended up being a backhanded Elven insult. If Dielka’s words were taken as Elven sarcasm, it meant, ‘Why are you already worrying about that when you aren’t even kind?’
Instead of getting angry, Iselin more seriously corrected Dielka’s way of speaking. Dielka also admitted her mistake and learned noble speech from Iselin.
Choi Kangjoong hung around for a bit before heading home.
It was late at night, and he wondered if Choi Yunseo would be awake, but he sent a text message anyway.
[Choi Kangjoong: What are you doing?]
[Choi Yunseo: Studying magic.]
[Choi Kangjoong: Do you want to watch a Dragon use magic?]
[Choi Yunseo: For real?]
[Choi Kangjoong: You have to stay quietly in the back, though.]
[Choi Yunseo: Really?]
[Choi Yunseo: Can I really go?]
[Choi Kangjoong: Yeah.]
[Choi Yunseo: Thanks.]
[Choi Yunseo: I couldn’t even ask because I thought you’d say it’s dangerous.]
[Choi Yunseo: (Emoticon of a white rabbit saying thank you)]
[Choi Kangjoong: That looks like Iselin’s spirit.]
[Choi Yunseo: It is.]
[Choi Yunseo: Look at the name of the emoticon. It’s ‘The Princess’s White Spirit’ lol.]
[Choi Kangjoong: When did she do that?]
[Choi Yunseo: Didn’t you know? You two must not be very close.]
[Choi Yunseo: The Princess gave it to me as a gift lol.]
[Choi Kangjoong: Real men don’t use things like that.]
[Choi Yunseo: You should make an emoticon too, Brother.]
[Choi Yunseo: Didn’t you get a proposal to make an emoticon? I got a few.]
It seemed like there had been such a message among his texts.
[Choi Kangjoong: I’ll contact you later.]
[Choi Yunseo: OK.]
‘Should I get an Evolution Code in the meantime?’
Rotiaon and the Dragons’ troop composition was truly diverse.
There were Elves and Dark Elves, of course, but also Orcs and Golems.
To deal with them more efficiently, it was better to diversify the Apocalid’s composition as well. Choi Kangjoong turned on the computer and examined the list of monsters.
‘Should I make a Bomber Giant too? I think I also need an Apocalid specializing in long-range attacks.’
If he equipped Scouts or Warriors with Chitin Rifles, he could deal with the arrow-firing Elves and Dark Elves more effectively than with Apocalids that could only engage in close-quarters combat.
‘Which one would be good?’
A few things caught his eye.
For example, obtaining an evolution code for tunneling to ambush from underground or launch a surprise attack on the enemy’s rear through tunnels, or obtaining a Parasite Bullet evolution code to add parasites to the Chitin Spikes fired by Chitin Rifles.
‘Adding a parasite is better than adding acid fluid to the Chitin Spikes.’
Adding a parasite required more nutrients, but it was more useful than acid fluid.
The power of acid fluid decreased rapidly the further it traveled, whereas the parasite could increase its range and inflict at least serious injuries no matter where it hit.
‘I’ll get both. I should also use the Evolution Code I got from the Golem.’
Alsdine’s Golem wasn’t made from scratch but was a modification of an existing Golem race.
From that, he had obtained an Evolution Code called Mana Neural Network, and if he synthesized this with a space-related Evolution Code, he could obtain the Remote Energy Supply Network Evolution Code.
With that, the Apocalid could fight with full power from the beginning to the end of a battle without worrying about energy consumption.
‘For now, let’s obtain both the tunneling and the parasite.’
Choi Kangjoong checked the locations where he could obtain those two Evolution Codes.
