Lu Ran had no idea how things had ended up like this.
“… Lord Angel, didn’t you say before that you didn’t want to sneak in?”
“Plans change. This is the most efficient way, after all.”
“You’re so gloomy.”
“Hey, this was the method you came up with, wasn’t it?”
The two were currently hiding under a bed, whispering to one another. To be precise, they were under the only large bed in Ah Li’s bedroom.
To make the infiltration plan more perfect, Wei Yang had found two black wool head covers at Lu Ran’s house. After using scissors to cut three holes in each, the classic robber masks were complete.
With these, even the formidable Ah Li would be easy to handle!
“Lu Ran, let me go over the plan one more time. Remember, don’t mess this up.”
“I know… *Sigh*, I have mixed feelings about this.”
“First, we wait for Ah Li to return from the cathedral. We’ll strike and subdue her when she’s completely off guard. Then, we threaten her into canceling the rule that nuns can’t go commando. After that, we make a break for it.”
“If only the goal weren’t for such a stupid reason.”
Wei Yang ignored her commentary.
“Protect your mask. If my face is seen, I’ll definitely be caught and thrown into a small dark room.”
Lu Ran continued her relentless critique.
“But if you insist on going without underwear, you’re going to get caught eventually anyway.”
“We’ll worry about that later.”
The conversation ended, and the two lay quietly under the bed, waiting for Ah Li’s return.
While they waited for nightfall and for Ah Li to finish her shift, it became swelteringly hot under the bed. Because she was wearing the head cover, Lu Ran felt like she was about to melt, her entire body drenched in sweat.
Although her figure was somewhat modest, she was still wearing clothes, so everything felt like a sticky mess. After tossing and turning through various positions, she began to doubt herself. It seemed like the Lord Angel’s ‘no underwear’ theory might actually be right.
In the narrow space under the bed, Lu Ran tilted her head slightly and looked at Wei Yang through the two holes cut into her mask. Wei Yang was motionless and focused. She didn’t even seem to be sweating. Clearly, she was taking this infiltration mission very seriously.
‘As expected of Lord Angel… I’m actually a bit envious.’
Lu Ran was a hesitant and rather dull girl, so she admired those who could set a goal and do everything in their power to achieve it. No matter how meaningless those goals were—even if it was just the silly reason of wanting to go commando—in Lu Ran’s eyes, it was still—
Very cool.
“Mmm~”
‘…?’
The sound of soft, steady breathing drifted through the air, the kind someone makes when they’ve fallen into a deep sleep.
Lu Ran listened intently, unable to believe her ears. Though she wanted to deny it, High Nun Ah Li hadn’t returned yet. That breathing could only belong to—
Wei Yang, whom she had been admiring for her drive and focus just a moment ago.
“Give me back my admiration and respect, Lord Angel…”
Lu Ran’s dress was stuck tightly to her body, her skin visible beneath the thin, pale-yellow gauze. Just as she was debating whether or not to loosen her clothes, the sound of the door opening reached her ears.
*Thud.*
The door opened and then closed.
Ah Li was back.
Lu Ran immediately held her breath. At the same time, her left hand groped around, trying to shake Wei Yang awake, but the other girl caught her hand before she could. Wei Yang was already awake. She knew exactly when to rest and when to get to work.
Soon, a pair of slender legs wearing black Mary Janes appeared in the narrow gap under the bed. The hem of the nun’s habit fell to her ankles, and the asymmetrical slit on the left side swayed with her steps, revealing fishnet stockings underneath.
After Ah Li sat on the bed, Lu Ran used her eyes to ask Wei Yang if they should move. Wei Yang shook her head. This wasn’t the moment when Ah Li was most relaxed. Caution was one of Wei Yang’s finest virtues.
Ah Li collapsed onto the bed, grabbing a large slime-shaped plushie nearby and burying her face in it. She let out a tired sigh.
“I’m exhausted. So many people came to pray today. Damned nightmares, work is such a pain. And my dear little Snow Fox actually ran away while I was inside getting toys. I’m so mad.”
Wei Yang ignored the second half of the sentence, considering the first part to be great news. It meant they were currently short-staffed, so her chances of successfully applying to be a nun were high—as long as she could get Ah Li to change that rule.
But Ah Li didn’t follow the script Wei Yang had imagined.
“I really want to take a hatchet and chop a few people to relieve some stress and relax. There are already enough people in town, right? Or maybe I should just lock her up at home. That sounds like a great idea.”
… Huh?
Wei Yang rubbed her ears.
‘What is this girl talking about? Is there something wrong with my hearing?’
Wei Yang looked at Lu Ran, who was also wearing an expression of pure terror.
The black Mary Janes were tossed carelessly onto the floor, followed by the sound of fabric rubbing together.
“So annoying. My body feels so sticky, and the weather is terrible. I’m going to take a shower.”
Then, a pair of clean, white calves—now free of fishnets—stepped into house slippers at the edge of the bed and paddled toward the bathroom.
A moment later, the sound of running water started, followed by a door closing.
Lu Ran hurriedly pulled at Wei Yang’s sleeve and whispered.
“Lord Angel, what do we do now?”
“I—I’m thinking. This girl is a bit unpredictable. If we stay any longer, something bad might happen… How about we just run for now?”
Recognizing a bad situation was another one of Wei Yang’s finest virtues.
The two crawled out from under the bed with extreme care and crept toward the bedroom door. Since the path to the door went right past the bathroom, they had to tip-toe slowly. When they passed the slightly ajar bathroom door, Wei Yang paused to listen to the sounds inside.
Good, the water was still running. She turned and gestured for Lu Ran to follow, quickening her pace until they reached the front door.
‘Great, a clean escape.’
She relaxed, let out a sigh of relief, and pulled the door open.
It was pitch black outside. Under the dim light of the magic stone pillars, the town looked empty and lonely.
That is, if she ignored the person standing outside the door, looking down at her.
Cold sweat broke out on Wei Yang’s forehead under her mask.
Right. She had heard a door close, but the bathroom door was still ajar. Why hadn’t she realized that earlier?
“Darling, where do you think you’re going?”
“Uh, I’m going to the docks to get some—mmph!”
Looking down from her height, Ah Li shoved Wei Yang back into the room. Then, she pulled a bewildered Lu Ran out and slammed the door that had symbolized hope shut with a loud *bang*.
Ah Li grabbed Wei Yang by the back of her collar and dragged her to the bedside. With a single hand, she hoisted her up and tossed her onto the bed. Then, she deftly stripped off her pajamas and threw them onto Wei Yang’s panicked face.
“Wait, what are you doing!?”
“Doing it. You showed up right when my stress was about to overflow. I assume you’re prepared~”
“No, why are you doing this to me? This isn’t how it’s supposed to go! You should take off my mask first to see who I am, ask me why I broke in, and then throw me in jail!”
“I don’t want to do that. Right now, I just want to unload everything on you. I’ll keep going even if you pass out, and if you wake up, I’ll just keep going some more.”
“Huh? No, I’m wearing a mask, you haven’t even seen my face! Does it not matter who it is?!”
Ah Li looked at her, exasperated.
“Honestly, are you an idiot? I told you my eyes are very good. Even if your face is covered, I can tell who you are. The shape of a soul can’t be hidden, darling~”
Wei Yang tried desperately to push Ah Li away, but she was too weak. In her desperation, she instinctively channeled her divine power to break free. However, under the influence of her divine power’s unique trait, Ah Li’s tight-fitting undergarments were suddenly strained by her charms growing from an E cup to an F cup. With a loud *snap*, they burst and hit Wei Yang in the face.
Even though it didn’t hurt much because of the mask, the psychological trauma to Wei Yang was very real.
It was over. She had played with fire and gotten burned.
‘Why did I forget about the trait of Heng’e’s stupid divine power… Farewell, world.’
Just as Wei Yang resigned herself to her fate—
“Ahhh!!”
A terrified scream erupted from outside the door. It was the middle of the night.
