“Knock, knock, knock.”
Wei Yang knocked on the door. After waiting in the messy wind for quite a while, the door finally opened.
“Good morning.”
“Good morning. I came as promised.”
Behind the door, the white dragon Galio peeked out with only half her body showing. As usual, a plain black blindfold covered her eyes.
Wei Yang hadn’t forgotten the promise made in the garden last night. Although it had been Galio who insisted that she come over to play, this was indeed a good opportunity.
Partly because of Wei Yang’s own selfish desire—she really, really loved dragon girls.
But more importantly, she needed to build a good relationship with Na Mei to gather information, and this would also give her a chance to meet Lu Lu, the one known for advocating war.
To solve a problem, the most important step is understanding how other people behave and think. The more information she had, the better.
Since she had promised Lu Ran that she would help resolve the disturbances in the town, she had to do it properly. Responsibility was one of Wei Yang’s best qualities. Besides, she still needed to investigate Anna’s movements last night. She couldn’t relax even a little.
Wei Yang cautiously walked into the house, and Galio gently closed the door behind her.
It was quiet.
Too quiet.
The strange silence made Wei Yang speak up.
“Is it just you here?”
“Yes. The princesses both have things to do. Right now it’s only me. Are you disappointed?”
Wei Yang was startled. She had to answer very carefully here—otherwise this might literally be the end of her life.
“O-of course not! I’m very happy that it’s just you! I don’t want anyone else disturbing our time together. That’s why I’m happy… yes, that’s it!”
When Galio heard this, the huge dragon tail behind her began wagging happily from side to side, hitting the floor with soft thump thump sounds.
“Looks like I passed the test…” Wei Yang sighed in relief.
Although she was indeed a little disappointed she couldn’t see the two princesses, she absolutely couldn’t show it in front of this white dragon. Galio looked like she had been looking forward to this meeting, and Wei Yang didn’t want to ruin the mood.
“You asked me to come over because there’s something you wanted to do, right?”
Galio nodded.
“Yes. But before that, I want to ask you an important question.”
“A question?”
“Yes. It’s very important. I’m going to ask now.”
Wei Yang waited nervously.
Then the white dragon said something shocking.
“What kind of girls do you like?”
Wei Yang froze.
“Ah?”
But her reaction made Galio’s aura suddenly turn cold.
“That reaction… don’t tell me you like men?”
“N-no no no! Of course I like girls!”
Although that answer was mostly Wei Yang’s instinctive reaction, it successfully eased the killing intent surrounding Galio.
“That’s good. I hate men. I also hate it when the girls I’m interested in are touched by men. If you liked men, I would be furious… so furious that I might as well let you die while you’re still pure.”
Cold sweat appeared on Wei Yang’s forehead.
At that moment, Galio walked over and took her hand.
“Come to my room.”
Wei Yang obediently followed her into the bedroom, her heart pounding wildly.
She felt both excited and embarrassed.
Galio’s hands were slightly cold, but very soft. And from the dragon girl’s body came a faint milky scent, like that of a baby.
The layout of the bedroom surprised Wei Yang.
She had expected the white dragon who posed the greatest threat to the town to be a serious and intimidating figure. According to what Lu Ran had said, the white dragon should have had an overwhelming presence.
But after only two encounters—and seeing this room—Wei Yang became certain of something.
This dragon girl was simply bad at expressing emotions. Deep down, she was even more of a little girl than Lu Ran.
The bedroom was filled with plush toys, yarn balls, knitting needles, and various tools. On the table were several finished unicorn plush dolls.
“Unicorns?”
Wei Yang suddenly remembered something.
Wasn’t that purple-haired girl who summoned nightmares last night talking about unicorns?
Galio sat down on the bed and pulled Wei Yang to sit beside her.
“Will you knit with me?”
Wei Yang thought just as expected. When she saw all those yarn balls earlier, she had already guessed.
“I’ve never learned knitting before. I’m a complete beginner. Is that okay?”
“It’s fine. Just stay with me and watch. I get lonely easily, and the princesses are always busy, so no one accompanies me. As long as you’re here, it’s okay.”
This surprised Wei Yang again.
Wasn’t the white dragon supposed to be the princesses’ bodyguard? Yet while the two princesses were busy, she seemed to have nothing to do.
Watching Galio pick up a ball of merino wool yarn, Wei Yang cautiously asked,
“So they’re really that busy? They don’t even have time to spend with you?”
Galio’s hands stopped.
“…No. It’s not that they don’t have time. It’s more like… they’re not interested in me.”
“Not interested? They left you here alone because they’re not interested in you?”
“It can’t be helped. I’m just a tool.”
“Originally only Princess Na Mei was supposed to come to Fox Hidden Town as an envoy. But Princess Lu Lu insisted on coming along. With no other choice, Princess Na Mei brought me as well—to keep Princess Lu Lu under control.”
“Now that Princess Lu Lu is behaving and not causing trouble, there’s naturally no need for me anymore.”
Wei Yang was shocked.
Anyone in town would think a powerful being like the white dragon was the princesses’ protector.
But in reality… she was just a tool dragon?
Wei Yang couldn’t tell if that was good news or bad.
Click.
The sound of the door opening suddenly reached their ears.
Wei Yang’s heart moved.
One of the two princesses must have returned. Only they would have the key.
She leaned out of the bedroom and looked toward the living room.
“…Huh?”
It wasn’t just one of them.
Both of them had returned together.
And the clothes Na Mei was wearing… were exactly the same as the purple-haired girl’s clothes from last night.
The realization hit Wei Yang like a shock, leaving her momentarily stunned.
At the same time, Na Mei was also stunned.
After returning home with Lu Lu, she suddenly felt something strange. Acting on instinct, she turned toward the white dragon’s bedroom.
And then she saw someone she didn’t expect.
The fox princess angel who had appeared in her dreams last night—the one she couldn’t stop thinking about.
Wei Yang.
“Huh!? Little Wei Yang!? Why are you here!?”
Na Mei also immediately realized something.
The clothes she was wearing had already exposed her identity. When she had summoned nightmares outside or when Wei Yang caught her last night, she had disguised her face.
But clothes were the same. That couldn’t be hidden.
I’m finished!
Wei Yang must have realized that I’m the purple-haired twin-tailed girl she caught last night!
While Na Mei panicked internally, Wei Yang noticed both her and Lu Lu and stood up to walk toward them.
Na Mei waved her hands frantically, trying to explain.
She didn’t want to ruin the image Wei Yang had of her.
“Um… I can explain why I release nightmares every night—”
