…Ugh… my chest feels so heavy?
A warm, soft sensation brushed against her fingertips.
Qiu Mian dazedly lowered her head—only for her view to be partially blocked by a certain prominent curve that absolutely should not belong to “her.”
“Wait… this feeling…”
He—or rather, she now—retracted her hand. The wrist was impossibly slender.
Even her field of vision seemed lower than before, and a faint, sweet fragrance drifted through the air—something that definitely didn’t belong in a boys’ dormitory.
Just a few minutes earlier, he had been hammering away at his keyboard in the dorm, happily squatting on his chair to play games and slack off, while silently lighting a candle in mourning for the novel update he was guaranteed to miss tonight.
The next second, his vision blurred. The hard wooden bed beneath him turned into cold, rough concrete. A gust of wind swept across his skin, sending a violent shiver through him.
“I’m—screwed—”
“This setup, this plot… it’s definitely transmigration, right?!”
She staggered to her feet. Her body felt unnaturally light, almost weightless—like a strong breeze could blow her away.
She barely managed to smooth down the slightly oversized, unfamiliar dress-like uniform she was now wearing, her mind still a complete mess.
“But anyway… first, figure out where the hell I am.”
Looking around, it appeared to be the rooftop of some building.
She shuffled over to the iron door leading downstairs and was just about to push it open when—
“…I finally found you.”
A sticky, syrupy voice drifted out from behind the door, seeping through the crack like cold syrup.
Qiu Mian jolted, goosebumps rising instantly. She held her breath on reflex and peeked cautiously through the narrow gap.
A girl wearing an exquisitely crafted fox mask stood silently in the dim stairwell outside.
The eyes behind the mask curved into delighted crescents, staring unblinkingly in her direction.
The girl was dressed in an ornate dark school uniform, hands folded elegantly over her lower abdomen.
“We’ll never be apart again… This time, I’ll hold you so tightly… I’ll give you all of my love…”
“Yandere?! This line sounds almost exactly like something I’d write in my novels~! But why does hearing it in real life feel so… so…”
Before she could finish the thought, her sharp eyes caught something else—another figure huddled in the shadows on the far side of the rooftop.
Another girl in a similar school uniform sat curled behind the water tank, hugging her knees. Her shoulders trembled faintly. She showed no reaction at all to the sickeningly sweet confession from the doorway—or rather, she was too terrified to react.
“…Huh?”
Qiu Mian blinked. Her muddled brain finally clicked.
“So in other words… the mysterious yandere classmate at the door… isn’t confessing to me?”
She even bounced on her toes a little, suddenly excited.
“It’s the one hiding over there?”
“There’s—there’s drama!”
She shrank back against the doorframe, carefully adjusting her position so she could keep the masked girl’s lovestruck profile in view while also sneaking glances at the “real target” in the shadows.
She even tucked herself a bit deeper into the corner to avoid getting caught in the crossfire.
“Phew, it’s not me! That scared me to death…”
“But seriously, what kind of situation is this? Transmigration + gender swap + rooftop + yandere + apparent love triangle… the tropes are way too stacked!”
“Ah well, whatever, things will sort themselves out when the time comes!”
“Right now the top priority is—”
She patted her rather flat chest, psyching herself up. The corner of her mouth curled into a slightly immoral grin.
“Of course—getting a bite of this fresh gossip first! Hehehe~”
As for sorting out the current situation, thinking of countermeasures, or figuring out this frail new body…
“I’ll deal with all that after I finish eating this melon! Only idiots skip fresh drama!”
The rooftop door creaked open. The voice grew sweeter, stickier… and clearer.
“Why aren’t you saying anything? I can clearly feel you’re right here~”
“You can’t escape… No matter what form you take, I’ll always recognize you…”
“This time, little by little… slowly… I’ll make you completely mine…”
The tip of the fox-masked girl’s finger traced lightly along the iron door, producing a faint scraaaape.
Her tone suddenly carried a hint of aggrieved choking.
“Why are you hiding from me? I clearly… love you so much. I love you so much I want to give you everything…”
“I love you so much… I want to be with you forever, in the most intimate way possible…”
Qiu Mian listened with pricked ears while quietly critiquing in her mind.
“This emotional tension… damn, why does it actually feel kinda thrilling?”
“But the girl getting confessed to—you’re way too calm… no, wait, you’re just terrified, aren’t you? Why are you shaking even harder now?”
She was happily analyzing the girl’s words, even wondering whether she should steal some lines for her next novel chapter.
But the next words slowly wiped the smile from her face.
“You smell so good… my favorite scent…”
“You’ve become even cuter… even more irresistible… I want to cherish you properly.”
“My… Qiu… Mian…?”
…Hm?
…Wait?
Qiu… Mian?
The smile froze on Qiu Mian’s face.
“She’s calling… me?”
“No no no, definitely same name! Or a misunderstanding! Right, misunderstanding!”
She tried to convince herself, but her body had already broken out in honest goosebumps.
Creak—
The girl outside suddenly turned this way. From her sleeve, she slowly drew a slender dinner knife. Her fingertip lovingly caressed the blade.
“Naughty children… need a little punishment.”
“But don’t be afraid—it’ll be quick… and then we can be together forever. Let’s start with the parts that keep you from running away, okay?”
The cold glint of the blade stabbed into Qiu Mian’s eyes.
A knife?!
“She’s serious?! No no no, the script is definitely wrong! She’s coming for me?!”
Qiu Mian’s scalp instantly went numb. Forgetting all about eating melon, she spun around and bolted toward the trembling girl on the other side of the rooftop!
“Right! Find the ‘real target’! Explain everything! I’m just a passerby! Innocent! If you’re gonna stab someone—ah no, I mean talk to someone—it should be her! You two are the couple!”
“Cl-Classmate! Hel—”
She kept her voice low and lunged desperately toward the curled-up girl.
Before the words fully left her mouth—
The girl in the shadows lifted her head.
Long black hair hung messily. Behind the gray mask, deep eyes stared unblinkingly at Qiu Mian.
Then, right in front of Qiu Mian’s stunned gaze, she suddenly reached out—
and pulled the charging Qiu Mian tightly into her arms!
“Mmph…!”
The embrace was so forceful that Qiu Mian almost let out a muffled grunt.
The girl’s body was slightly cool, carrying the same faint sweet fragrance that lingered in the air.
She lowered her head. Warm breath brushed against Qiu Mian’s burning ear as she whispered in a voice only the two of them could hear.
“Got you.”
“My… Qiu Mian.”
“This time, I’ll never let you run away again.”
The tone was gentle, laced with a smile—yet it sent Qiu Mian plummeting into an icy abyss.
“…W-Who the hell are you?!”
“Wait wait wait! That voice?! But these words…”
An absurd, terrifying realization exploded in Qiu Mian’s blank mind.
“…Don’t tell me… both of them are after me?!”
She stiffly turned her neck bit by bit to look behind her.
The fox-masked girl—whose lips had been curved in delight just moments ago—now stared at the tightly embraced pair on the rooftop.
Her smile flattened instantly.
Even through the mask, the emotion was palpable.
The dinner knife in her hand creaked as her grip tightened.
Qiu Mian: “!!!!!!!!”
I’m—screwed!!!
