The following events unfolded exactly as Gao Sijin had expected.
Five minutes had just passed when the abrupt sound of screeching tires echoed outside the company.
Looking out the window, a BMW i8 appeared like a bolt of silver-white lightning. With a beautiful drift, it came to a perfect stop right in front of the main entrance, once again drawing the stares of his colleagues.
“Minister Sun, I’d like to request a leave of absence for today,” Gao Sijin said to the bald department head, who was usually quite fierce.
To his surprise, even Minister Sun smiled at him with a kind and pleasant expression today.
“Alright. Be careful on the road, and stay safe.”
After receiving permission, Gao Sijin left the company with Feng Xiaohe and approached the BMW.
Yu Qingxue stepped out of the car to greet them.
Gao Sijin clearly remembered that when she came to work this morning, Yu Qingxue had been wearing a black trench coat and high boots, exuding the powerful aura of a female CEO who could rival any man.
But now, she had changed into the maid uniform she had worn back at the hotel.
A snow-white apron sat over her lace-trimmed black skirt, and her translucent black stockings, held up by garters, featured intricate floral patterns. In addition to that, her nearly perfect feet were encased in high heels that perfectly accentuated her feminine charm.
“Honorable Master, it is an honor to serve you.”
“Why did you change your clothes again?”
“Because I am your maid.”
Yu Qingxue smiled with a sweet and humble expression, her tone of voice entirely different from her usual self.
Standing next to Gao Sijin, Feng Xiaohe stared at Yu Qingxue’s impeccably exquisite features. Feeling her noble, elegant, and otherworldly temperament, Feng Xiaohe found herself momentarily dazed.
Even though Feng Xiaohe considered herself a beauty within the company, compared to Yu Qingxue, she felt like an unremarkable grain of sand or a speck of dust.
“Then, Master, please get into the car. And this lady as well,” Yu Qingxue said as she pulled open the back door. She made a beckoning gesture and asked politely, “How should I address you?”
“My name is Feng Xiaohe. What is your relationship with Little Gao?”
“A master and servant relationship, of course. Then, I must also ask Miss Feng, what is your relationship with my master?”
“Colleagues.”
With that, Feng Xiaohe sat into the car with poise. Yu Qingxue closed the door for her, then she clung to Gao Sijin’s arm as she seated him in the passenger seat. Her movements and behavior were strikingly similar to the maid who was in love with her master in Gao Sijin’s novel.
Inside the car, the air was immediately filled with the scent of the two women’s perfumes. The fragrance made Gao Sijin’s head swim.
“We’re going to Binhai City Tenth Middle School, correct?”
“Yes.”
After confirming the destination, Yu Qingxue turned on the automatic navigation.
Feng Xiaohe suddenly asked, “Excuse me, but who exactly does this BMW belong to?”
“It belongs to my most beloved, most admired, and most respected master, Lord Gao Sijin, of course.”
“When did this become my car?” Gao Sijin was speechless.
“Master, I beg you, stop working at this trash company. Come home early to inherit the family estate and marry the Young Miss.”
“Qingxue, let’s end this master-servant game here. I don’t have any strange fetishes, so stop embarrassing me like this.”
Yu Qingxue pursed her lips, looking aggrieved.
“Master, what are you saying? I am your maid. If even you deny my existence, then I truly have nothing left.”
It was clearly Yu Qingxue’s car, yet she insisted on acting like a servant. If Gao Sijin hadn’t been familiar with her personality and seen the mischievous, childlike glint in her eyes, he might have actually fallen for it.
Feng Xiaohe, however, looked as though she believed every word.
“Little Gao, I didn’t expect you to be hiding such a deep secret.”
“You’ve misunderstood, Sister Feng. Qingxue really isn’t my maid.”
“Master, how can you say that…” Yu Qingxue drove the car with a wronged expression. “Have you forgotten who has been by your side taking care of you? It’s me. The Master and Madam are both waiting for you to inherit billions in family assets. How can you be so heartless?”
“Stop it, Qingxue. If you keep this up, Sister Feng really will misunderstand.”
“What does it matter if she misunderstands? Please, come home with me, Master. I know you have feelings for me. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have used me as the prototype to write that novel.”
“Nao wasn’t based on you!” Gao Sijin suddenly blurted out in protest.
But as soon as he spoke, he regretted it. Gao Sijin didn’t want others to know he was writing a novel, and he especially didn’t want them to know what genre he wrote.
Now, he had accidentally let the female lead’s name slip. In this day and age, the internet was incredibly advanced; if Feng Xiaohe was determined, she could very likely use that name to find his novel.
If she actually read it, Gao Sijin would essentially suffer a total social death.
However, Feng Xiaohe’s next words left Gao Sijin even more shocked.
“Miss Yu, Nao was definitely not written with you as the prototype. You are completely different from that character. In my opinion, Nao is a more beautiful, more evil, and more desirable existence. While you are indeed very beautiful, you are far from her level. Moreover, there is no possessiveness in your eyes. If you saw your most beloved master standing with me, you should be showing obvious hostility or even killing intent. That is the difference between you and Nao.”
“Sister Feng, you…”
In his memory, although Feng Xiaohe was always smiling during business deals — often coaxing clients until they gave her a thumbs up — those were actually mechanical, fake smiles.
But now, Feng Xiaohe was giving Gao Sijin a genuine smile. She was truly beautiful when she smiled; it was enough to be described as a smile that could topple a city.
“Xiao Ai, I didn’t expect the world to be this small.”
“You’re my reader?”
“I am Feng He from the group. The same Feng He who likes to occasionally post lewd photos to stimulate your desire to write.”
“But…”
Gao Sijin opened his phone to check Feng He’s profile in the group. The gender column clearly stated “Male.” Even the hometown and residence were listed as being in the south. The information didn’t match Feng Xiaohe at all.
As expected, nothing on the internet could be trusted.
“Were those leg photos all…?”
“Do you even need to ask? They were my selfies.”
Gao Sijin swallowed hard, unsure of what to say for a moment.
Feng Xiaohe also let out a long sigh of relief, her tone softening considerably. “Xiaona committed a serious mistake at school, and my mind was in a mess. I didn’t expect to run into Xiao Ai by such a stroke of luck. I suppose it’s a blessing in disguise.”
“I’m happy too, but should I keep calling you Sister Feng or Feng He?” Gao Sijin frowned. He never imagined a reader would be working at the same company as him. This coincidence was enough to warrant buying a lottery ticket.
“Call me Xiaohe from now on. I actually quite hate it when you call me Sister Feng. It makes me feel like an old lady.”
