“He said for you to arrive at the Palace at 9:00 AM sharp tomorrow, and also mentioned that all the answers you seek can be found there.”
After saying this, the person left without looking back.
Zhu Qiu closed the door immediately.
‘Seriously, what kind of person is that? Leaving the door open like that. But complaining aside, if he says the answers are with the King, then my father must be in his hands. Getting this message means Father is safe for now.’
“How did it go? What did he say to you?” the Sword Spirit came out and asked.
“King Jade was taken away. I have no other choice but to wait until tomorrow.”
“Then rest well tonight. There might be a hard battle tomorrow,” the Sword Spirit suggested.
“Wait a second.”
“Is there another problem?” Zhu Qiu asked, tilting her head in confusion.
“I’m not full.”
—
Inside the Human Palace, the man sent by the King had already returned.
The King sat on his throne with his legs crossed, looking less serious than he had during the day, a wide smile on his face.
“Your Majesty, the message has been delivered. We just need to wait for the Sword Saint to walk into our trap.”
“Very good. I am most satisfied.”
“But, Your Majesty, I have a doubt.”
“What doubt?”
“Well… have dragons ever appeared among the Human Race?”
He couldn’t let go of the doubt in his heart and decided to speak about what he saw tonight.
“Dragons? What nonsense are you talking?”
The King did not care at all.
“No, he is not joking.”
Suddenly, a male voice came from behind the throne.
The King pointed his finger in that direction.
“Who’s there!”
“It’s me, of course, King. The President of the Human Mage Association, Dinksway.”
As he spoke, Dinksway, wearing a long robe, slowly stepped out from behind the seat.
“Dinksway? You’re not sleeping at this hour, but sneaking into the Palace to eavesdrop on my conversation?”
“How can you call it eavesdropping? I am doing this for your sake, Your Majesty. Don’t forget, we are friends. If you don’t want me to know about such things, have you forgotten our agreement?”
“Of course I haven’t forgotten.”
“Then let’s stop this useless talk. I heard you mention dragons just now. What exactly is the situation?”
Dinksway looked down at the man wearing the Royal Legion uniform.
The man thought to himself, ‘I’m not sure if it was real; maybe my eyes were playing tricks on me.’
To avoid saying the wrong thing or getting into more trouble, he chose to evade.
Dinksway ignored his hesitation and used Instantaneous Movement to close the distance, grabbing him by the collar with one hand and lifting him up.
“Speak!”
“How bold! Dinksway, he is my man. You cannot discipline my people!”
“Fine!”
Dinksway gave the King face and let go of the man.
“Speak up already!”
The man’s eyes wavered as he looked at the King, waiting for an order.
“Go ahead. It doesn’t matter if you are wrong.”
With the King’s permission, he finally dared to speak.
“When I went to find the Sword Saint and kicked open his door, I saw him with a dragon about this high, golden all over.”
He gestured to the approximate height.
Hearing this, Dinksway was displeased and gave him a hard kick.
“Impossible! How could a Sword Saint be with a dragon? They cannot appear together!”
“It’s true! The dragon seemed to be a Young Dragon. I even saw the Sword Saint hand it a Custom Baby Bottle, and then the Young Dragon sensed someone approaching and suddenly disappeared.”
Dinksway ignored him and walked away with heavy steps.
The large Palace was suddenly left with only two people.
“Ignore him. That is just his personality. He is suspicious and goes crazy sometimes. He seems quite ill.”
Dinksway walked back to the Association.
Recalling the news he heard at King Jade’s place, he began to doubt his own judgment.
If what the man said was true and the Sword Saint was raising a dragon… then what about the aura on the Sword Saint?
That was not something a human should possess.
Could it be that he stayed with the dragon for so long that their auras mixed, making him mistake the man for a dragon in disguise?
But if that were the case and the Sword Saint is human, how could he explain the abnormal behavior right under his nose?
That was definitely not something a Sword Saint could do — One-Glance Magic, yes, magic!
Dinksway suddenly had a revelation.
Just because a Sword Saint is incredibly skilled in swordsmanship does not mean they cannot learn magic.
However, these two completely unrelated disciplines are time-consuming and exhausting to practice together, and the results are never as good as focusing on one.
Furthermore, usually, those with great swordsmanship do not know magic, and those with Magic Talent have weaker physical constitutions.
There has never been such a precedent among the Human Race.
Previously, he had watched the Sword Saint get surrounded by a crowd, only to jump into the air and suddenly disappear.
That was definitely not a spell a regular Mage could easily learn; in fact, he had never even heard the name of such magic.
He had not been surprised then because he believed the Sword Saint was a member of the Dragon Race in disguise.
It was only natural for the Dragon Race to know magic he did not understand, but now that theory was completely overturned.
Dinksway pondered for a while until he reached the entrance of the Mages Association.
He did not go inside but stood outside to continue thinking.
“President, what are you doing standing outside? It is so cold.”
Sote said with concern.
“It is nothing. I had some business and just got back. Why are you out so late?”
“No, nothing like that. I just heard footsteps outside that stopped at the door. I suspected it was a thief, so I came out to check. I did not expect it to be you, President. It is fine now. It is cold out, so please come inside quickly.”
“That is good, then.”
The two entered, and Dinksway turned to close the door tightly.
Sote went back to his room to sleep.
Meanwhile, Dinksway returned to his own room and lay on his bed, lost in thought.
By dawn, after deep reconstruction of every time the Sword Saint had appeared, combined with some deduction, he seemed to understand something.
The Sword Saint’s magic must have been taught by the dragon — or more accurately, given by the dragon.
He had seen all sorts of magic, and magic he had never seen before certainly did not belong here.
This further confirmed that the magic belonged to the dragons.
Moreover, that dragon probably possessed some miraculous ability to let the Sword Saint use its magic.
Dinksway’s brow relaxed.
There could be no mistake.
At that moment, a new thought popped into his mind.
