“Ugh… Didn’t I sleep last night? Why does my body still feel so tired today?”
Lorevil stretched a pale, tender arm out from under the covers, rubbing her throbbing temples.
‘It seems that even though a Tier 3 Vampire’s body has self-healing powers, being highly focused in the Blood Hunt for several hours makes it difficult for both my mind and stamina to recover in time.’
“Lorevil, get up! The sun is already shining on your butt.” Noxia shouted several times from the bedside.
Lorevil remained motionless on the bed.
Helpless, Noxia could only walk over and lift a corner of the quilt. “Lorevil, if you don’t get up now, breakfast is going to get cold.”
“Noxia, just five more minutes…”
Lorevil’s eyelids felt as heavy as if they were stuck together with superglue, and she responded cryptically.
“No can do.”
Noxia squatted down and poked her cheek. “Didn’t you say you were going to meet Thorn to hand over supplies? The appointment is for 7:00 AM. If you’re any later, you won’t make it…”
“Not to mention, you still have to go to class at the Holy Blood Academy.”
“Crap, I almost forgot.” Lorevil cried out in surprise. She struggled to climb out of bed and splashed her face with cold water before finally regaining some clarity.
“Eat slowly, there’s still time.”
Noxia handed her a glass of warm blood milk, her heart aching for her. “Looking at how tired you were yesterday afternoon, you fell asleep the moment you got back. You didn’t even take a bath.”
“Don’t push yourself so hard next time.”
“I know, I know. I’m running out of time…”
Lorevil didn’t seem to be listening properly. She grabbed a piece of bread and devoured it, responding unclearly.
“The Thorns desperately need supplies during the early stages of reorganization. Since it involves the information of the Thorn base, I must go in person.”
She had asked Madam Sharon for help in advance, at least to ensure the quality of these supplies.
Although Madam Sharon had agreed last night, she still sent a message with a hint of resentment:
“Lorevil, I can’t even see you for the handover? Are you really that busy?”
“I’ll definitely make a separate appointment to drink blood wine with you next time. This is a special situation.”
Lorevil had to comfort the resentful Madam Sharon for a long time before they agreed on 7:00 AM this morning, choosing an abandoned alley in the suburbs for the handover.
She finished the bread and milk in a few bites, and Noxia wiped her mouth for her.
Then, Lorevil grabbed a dark coat and prepared to head out. Halfway to the door, she seemed to remember something and turned back.
“Lorevil, what is it?” Noxia looked up in confusion.”I forgot something, of course.”
Lorevil smiled. To her wife’s stunned gaze, she leaned down and planted a kiss on her forehead.
“Ah…”
The soft sensation caused Noxia’s cheeks to flush instantly. Her heart raced like a panicked deer, and she gave Lorevil a playful, bashful shove. “Oh, you! What are you doing in broad daylight?”
“Then should I… make it up to you tonight?”
As Lorevil spoke, she stared straight into her wife’s eyes.
Lorevil didn’t turn to leave until the thin-skinned Noxia couldn’t take it anymore and looked away.
When she said compensation, she meant proper compensation—don’t think the wrong way.
Lorevil was headed to the outer ring of Holy Blood City this time. Considering the need for stealth, she didn’t plan to take a carriage.
She simply tied her snow-white hair behind her head, then Lorevil used her long legs to move along the quiet streets, utilizing her Blood Shadow Step to move forward.
As she reached the corner of an alleyway, Lorevil was about to turn in when a sudden, inexplicable sense of crisis surged in her heart.
“Who’s there?”
Lorevil stopped abruptly, turning her body alertly.
Just as Lorevil was about to activate her blood threads to investigate, a cool hand gently pressed against the back of her neck.
A sweet, cloying fragrance drifted into Lorevil’s nostrils.
‘Damn it, it’s a potent drug designed for Vampires!’
Before Lorevil could even see who the attacker was, her consciousness was shrouded as if a heavy black cloth had been draped over her.
Lorevil’s reaction time was dull because of yesterday’s Blood Hunt; otherwise, she would never have fallen for this trap.
‘It’s over…’
In Lorevil’s mind, she imagined the consequences of being kidnapped, mistreated, and tortured to death.
Soon, Lorevil’s body became limp and weak, losing all strength to struggle.
“Sorry, Sister…”
Lorevil’s unconscious body was held almost reverently.
It was her younger sister, Loriditia.
She had a petite figure, wrapped in a black combat suit for ease of movement.
Under her brilliant silver hair was an exquisite face, and her eyes were as dazzling as a galaxy.
“Isolde, is this really okay?”
Loriditia’s vertical silver pupils were full of joy and guilt. Her face was flushed, and she seemed unable to suppress her excitement.
Although she had rehearsed this hundreds of times in her dreams, this was ultimately the first time she had put it into action.
“Loriditia, it’s not time to relax yet. People from the Thorns often operate in this area.”
Isolde leaned against the wall, her brow slightly furrowed as she scanned the surroundings alertly.
“Right.”
Loriditia nodded. She bent down and picked up her sister in a princess carry, her movements a mix of awkwardness and familiarity.
The weight in her arms was very light, and it emitted a familiar fragrance.
The scent made Loriditia’s knees go slightly weak. She actually lost her strength for a moment and almost failed to stand steady.
Thump-thump, thump-thump…
Loriditia’s heart was beating faster than her footsteps.
By the time she snapped out of it, Loriditia was already carrying her sister toward a hidden underground secret chamber.
This was a place Loriditia had prepared long ago. There were no windows, only a blood crystal lamp embedded in the wall, and a large bed placed in the center.
After placing Lorevil on the bed covered in velvet cushions, pink hearts flickered in Loriditia’s silver pupils. The cold, hardened aura she usually maintained from family training had completely changed.
“That wicked woman, Madam Sharon, hasn’t let me get close to Sister since we were kids. Now I finally can.”
Loriditia revealed a slightly pathological smile, her voice full of obsession.
She and her sister hadn’t seen each other in a long time. She missed her so, so much.
When she was a child, Loriditia, who was always lurking in the shadows, loved to secretly crawl outside
Lorevil’s window, watching her sister quietly read picture books.
Even though Lorevil hadn’t awakened her blood energy back then, she was as dazzling as a god in her eyes.
It was all Madam Sharon’s fault!
She was always stopped by a timely Madam Sharon, pressured so much that she didn’t have the slightest chance to get close to her sister.
After growing up, Lorevil was assigned a fiancée by the family. Loriditia could only watch as her sister smiled gently at someone else, watching her sister work hard to become stronger for someone else.
Jealousy!
Envy!
Longing… Countless emotions churned in Loriditia’s heart.
Finally.
This time, taking advantage of Lorevil’s outing and with information provided by Isolde, Loriditia finally managed to sneak out and see the sister she had been longing for.
Seeing her sister, Loriditia didn’t feel tired anymore.
In fact, her mood was as excited as an erupting volcano.
“After this time is over, I don’t know when I’ll see Sister again.”
Loriditia’s fingers traced Lorevil’s eyebrows, her shapely nose, and finally rested on her full red lips.
“Now, we can finally be alone together.”
At the thought that she would be sent to a secret realm for closed-door cultivation by the family after this, a layer of mist gathered in Loriditia’s silver eyes.
She leaned down, pressing close to Lorevil’s ear to whisper: “Sister, I really miss you…”
“Ugh, Noxia, don’t do that.”
Just then, Lorevil seemed to be dreaming of something. She suddenly furrowed her brows and bit her lower lip as she called out.
“S-Sister?”
Loriditia’s movements froze. The obsession on her face receded like a tide, and her silver pupils seemed to lose their highlight, becoming deep and dark as ink.
“Why… Is that fiancée named Noxia really so important to you?”
That fiancée named Noxia wasn’t even a threat in her eyes. But she didn’t expect that even while unconscious, in front of her, her sister would actually…
Actually!
She actually called out someone else’s name!
“Noxia! Noxia, it’s Noxia again…”
Loriditia clenched her fists unwillingly, repeating those three syllables over and over. Her small face was full of resentment.
“Fine! Sister, even while unconscious, even like this, the only one you think of is her? You’re calling her name?”
“Am I, your sister, really the redundant one? Sister, say something!”
“Noxia, wait, you can’t do that, I still have to go to the Blood Hunt…” Lorevil’s hand moved, grasping at the air.
Seeing this, Loriditia’s eyes widened. she was completely triggered.
From childhood to now, she had put in so much effort to get close to her sister and endured so much suppression.
Yet there was no place for her in her sister’s heart.
How could she stand this!
An extreme possessiveness erupted like a volcano. Loriditia stepped forward with her long legs, actually intending to straddle Lorevil directly.
“Sister, you forced me to do this!”
Loriditia’s eyes were burning with fire. She actually sat slowly on top of her sister, and she even took out a small booklet from her bosom!
