In the afternoon, Elia leaned against the armrest of the sofa, listlessly flipping through a Vampire History Book…
She didn’t know why, but she had taken a liking to these kinds of books lately.
Perhaps she was truly just bored out of her mind.
Kiz, meanwhile, sat at the desk across from her, processing a backlog of documents.
“Elia, you’ve been staring at me for at least ten minutes now,” Kiz suddenly said, looking up helplessly.
Elia flipped another page and said with a straight face, “I have not.”
“You have! Look, you’re even holding your book upside down.”
Hearing this, Elia looked down at the book in her hands… After a silence that lasted two seconds, she nonchalantly rotated the book 180 degrees.
Kiz’s lips twitched, but she didn’t say anything more.
After another five minutes or so, Elia suddenly appeared behind Kiz.
This caused Kiz’s pen to pause. “What are you doing?” she asked.
“Nothing.” Elia rested her hands on the girl’s shoulders. “Keep writing. Don’t mind me.”
“You… I can’t write if you’re like this…”
“Why?”
“Because…” Kiz bit the end of her pen, unable to come up with a reason for a long time. Finally, she whispered, “Because it’s distracting…”
“Oh.”
Elia nodded, and then her hand slid from the shoulder down to the Little Princess’s back, and then further down to her waist.
“Elia!”
“Hmm?”
“Your hand!”
“What’s wrong with my hand?” Elia asked innocently.
However, her fingers were restlessly tracing circles on the side of Kiz’s waist.
Kiz’s breathing became ragged, and her small face turned as red as could be… One could almost see steam rising from the top of her head.
“Don’t… don’t play around…”
“I’m not playing around~ I’m just checking how your body’s recovery is going.”
“Nonsense! You’re clearly… clearly just…”
“Just what?”
Kiz bit her lip hard.
‘She… she couldn’t say that word!’
At this moment, the slight bit of mischievousness in Elia’s heart was greatly satisfied.
She then leaned down and whispered into Kiz’s ear, her voice low. “Hey… you’re still so sensitive here… Little Princess~”
The quill in Kiz’s hand fell onto the desk with a thud.
She stood up abruptly and said, “I—I’m going for a walk in the Garden!”
With that, she turned to rush toward the door.
But Elia was faster. She grabbed Kiz’s wrist and, with a gentle pull, dragged the Little Princess into her arms.
“Where are you running to?”
“I’m not running! Let—let go of me!”
“I won’t.”
“Let go!”
“I won’t. Besides, you haven’t let me bite you today.”
Kiz’s movements instantly froze.
“Didn’t… didn’t you just bite me the other day…”
“The past is the past, and now is now.” Having said that, Elia pressed her lips against Kiz’s fair, slender neck.
Kiz felt Elia’s teeth gently grazing the skin on the back of her neck. Her whole body went limp. “You… you’re doing this on purpose…”
“That’s right~ I’m bullying you on purpose!” Elia then bit down.
“Hiss…” Kiz let out a sharp breath.
It hurt—it still hurt quite a bit—but she had grown used to it by now.
‘And… at least the one giving me this pain is Elia… What else could I be dissatisfied with? Wait, no! What am I thinking?’
‘I’m a noble and majestic Blood Princess! How did I end up in this internal struggle between my left and right brain? It must be this Demon Saintess’s fault!’
‘But this devil saved my life… and I…’
Kiz stopped thinking about it. She simply closed her eyes and allowed Elia to leave a fresh bite mark on the back of her neck.
For some reason, her eyes grew moist once again.
Elia, at this moment, was like someone savoring a precious drink… Although this drink didn’t taste good to her at all, it was indeed precious enough.
And her hands weren’t idle either.
“Mm…” Kiz suddenly let out a muffled groan.
Elia released her and asked, “Does it hurt?”
“…Yes.”
“Then why don’t you tell me to stop?”
Kiz fell silent.
Then, Elia’s fingers brushed lightly against her thigh. Even through the stockings, they left a few faint red marks.
“Hmm? Why don’t you say it?”
Even then, Kiz didn’t speak.
Suddenly, Elia placed a soft kiss on the fresh bite mark, then smiled and turned Kiz around to face her.
The Little Princess’s eyes were already red, filled with tears that she stubbornly refused to let fall. Elia reached out and wiped away the teardrops from the corners of her eyes with her thumb.
“Why are you crying?”
“I’m not crying!” Kiz said, turning her face away.
Elia pinched her chin and said, “Look at me.”
Only then did Kiz reluctantly turn her head back to look at her.
“Next time I bite you, if you don’t want to continue, just say stop… and I’ll stop,” Elia said softly.
“…Really?”
“Really.”
Kiz was silent for a few seconds before saying, “Then I’m saying stop now.”
“No, I haven’t had enough for today.”
“You just said you would stop!”
“That’s for next time, not this time.”
“You’re cheating!”
“Yes, I am.”
Kiz was so angry that her cheeks puffed up like an angry pufferfish.
Looking at her like this, Elia couldn’t help but laugh. She then tried to reach out and poke Kiz’s puffed-up cheek.
Pffft.
The air leaked out.
Kiz became even angrier. She grabbed Elia’s wrist and bit down, her two fangs piercing directly into the blood vessel. She then began to gulp down blood as if in revenge.
“Ngh…” Elia let out a soft moan, her face flushing red.
She had to admit that the effects of a vampire’s saliva were truly incredible. Although it was only a bite on the wrist, it still made Elia feel so… comfortable.
However, Kiz only drank for less than ten seconds before letting go.
“Humph! That’s what you get for cheating!” She puffed out her cheeks once more.
Then, Elia suddenly reached out and pulled Kiz into her arms.
Kiz was stunned. “What… what are you doing now?”
“Don’t move.” Elia rested her chin on top of the girl’s head. “Let me hold you for a while… just for a little bit…”
Kiz sighed and could only stay quietly in Elia’s embrace. At the same time, she listened to the sound of Elia’s heartbeat…
‘Elia’s heart is beating so fast… much faster than usual.’
‘Is she nervous? Why is she nervous?’
Kiz didn’t know.
She only knew that being held by Elia like this felt very good—so good that she didn’t want to leave. She even hoped this moment could last forever.
“Princess, Princess Laura of the Elves requests an audience.”
Just then, the voice of an attendant outside the door broke the silence of the study.
Kiz peeked out from Elia’s arms, her eyes a bit dazed. “Laura?”
“Yes, Your Highness.”
Kiz and Elia looked at each other.
“What is she doing here? Is she here to watch the spectacle again?” Kiz said with a frown.
“Who knows.” Elia released her and helped tidy up her messed-up hair, her collar, and her outfit. “Let’s see her first.”
Kiz nodded and then spoke to the person outside. “Tell her to wait in the drawing room. I’ll be there shortly.”
“Yes, Your Highness.” Soon, the sound of footsteps faded away.
Kiz walked over to the mirror to fix her appearance.
“Do you want me to come along?” Elia asked.
“Yes. After all, you are my ‘surface’ servant. Of course you have to follow.”
“Alright then. I’ll continue being a perfect background character today~”
