After Bai Lili received her admission letter to Saint Freya Academy, she managed to enjoy two rare days of peace — no clingy heroines and no endless worries. The only thing that left her feeling a bit helpless was her mother, Li Meng.
As soon as Li Meng entered the house, her gaze locked onto her daughter who had turned into a fox girl. She rushed forward and pulled her into a tight embrace, her eyes curving into crescent moons and her tone sickeningly sweet.
“Lili is so cute! You’re so fluffy now. Come, let Mommy pet you.”
Bai Lili instinctively tried to dodge, but when she met the pleading look in Li Meng’s eyes, the rejection died in her throat. Li Meng gently rubbed the top of her head, her voice tinged with a hint of grievance.
“Just let Mommy pet you for a bit. Once you go to school, I don’t know how long it will be before I can see you again.”
Unable to withstand Li Meng’s persistent badgering, Bai Lili’s cheeks turned a faint shade of pink. She awkwardly tilted her head away and muttered in a voice as soft as a mosquito’s buzz, “O-only one touch, okay? No more than that! I’m already an adult, not a little kid who needs you to hug and cuddle me.”
Seeing her daughter’s classic act of saying one thing but meaning another, Li Meng could no longer restrain herself. Her fingertips landed on Bai Lili’s fox ears, gently kneading them. As the fluffy, soft sensation traveled through her, the day’s fatigue seemed to vanish instantly. Li Meng sighed in satisfaction.
“Fluffy things are just too healing. All my exhaustion has been swept away!”
After this brief moment of intimacy, Li Meng suddenly turned serious and looked at Bai Lili.
“Lili, Mommy found a maid for you. Once you’re at school, she will take good care of your daily life.”
Bai Lili blinked in confusion, her mind racing. ‘It’s not even certain whether I’ll be able to live with a maid… What’s the point of finding one?’
Seeing her bewildered expression, Li Meng quickly added, “Don’t worry, Lili. Mommy has arranged everything. I even prepared a special dormitory for you. When the time comes, make sure to get along well with your maid and roommate.”
Bai Lili: 0.0
She still didn’t fully understand, but she was too lazy to dig deeper — for now, the most important thing was to enjoy this rare leisure time.
However, Li Meng clearly had no intention of letting her stay idle. Having finally found the time to be with her daughter, she naturally wanted to make up for lost time. Consequently, for the next two days, Bai Lili was dragged out to go shopping early every morning.
Li Meng seemed to be playing a game of “Dress-Up Lili,” forcing her to change into one outfit after another — maid outfits, Lolita dresses, princess gowns… Every time she changed, Li Meng would marvel for a long time.
“My Lili is just too cute! When you get to school, there will surely be many people who like you.”
As she spoke, she took out her camera and snapped photos incessantly, wishing she could record every version of Bai Lili. Finally, she waved her hand grandly.
“Wrap all of these up!”
Time flew by, and the two-day “dress-up nightmare” finally ended. Bai Lili stood before the gates of Saint Freya Academy and let out a long sigh of relief. She was finally liberated. Li Meng had already arranged everything for her; she only needed to take her admission letter and follow the procedures to complete her registration.
After smoothly finishing the process, Bai Lili could finally head to her dormitory.
Along the way, many older male and female students were attracted by her soft and cute fox-girl appearance. They stepped forward to strike up a conversation, but she ignored them all with an expressionless face — it couldn’t be helped; she was socially anxious. When there were too many people, she felt uncomfortable all over and could only instinctively stiffen her face, making her look completely stone-faced. (Author’s Note: I’m also the type whose face goes blank when there are too many strangers. 😅)
When she reached the door of her dormitory, she was completely stunned. The “dormitory” Li Meng had mentioned wasn’t an ordinary room at all; it was clearly a refined little villa!
Stepping into the villa, Bai Lili followed her mother’s instructions and found Room 01, which belonged to her. Seeing that the furniture inside was warm and comfortable and that her other roommates didn’t seem to have arrived yet, she simply took off her shoes and collapsed onto the sofa in the living room. Her white socks contrasted with her well-proportioned, slender calves, and her toes swayed gently, unable to hide her current coziness. (Ice cream 😋)
She casually opened her phone and saw that she had been assigned to Healing-Type Ability Class A. There were only a few notifications from the instructor in the class group, nothing interesting to see, so she pulled out a novel to read. The plot of the novel was very melodramatic, roughly about a blonde loli who didn’t know her place and mocked three heroines, only to be severely punished and eventually “disciplined” into a dutiful wife.
Just as she was getting engrossed in the story, the sound of a door opening came from the entrance. Bai Lili instinctively looked up, and the moment she saw the person, her entire body froze — a young girl dressed in a maid outfit stood at the door. Her long black hair reached her waist, and her sapphire-like eyes were clear and moving. It was none other than one of the three heroines, Qing Hanyin!
Stormy waves instantly surged in Bai Lili’s heart as she roared internally, ‘The maid Mom hired is actually a heroine?! And she’s an S-class ability user! She clearly could do anything she wants, so why would she come to be a maid?!’
Despite her inner turmoil, Bai Lili forced herself to stay calm and managed a slightly stiff smile.
“H-hello, I am Bai Lili, uh…”
The words died in her throat, she didn’t know how to continue, and her fox ears stood up in embarrassment.
Qing Hanyin saw through her awkwardness at a glance, her tone as gentle as melting ice. “Hello, I am Qing Hanyin. I presume you are my employer’s daughter, Miss Lili.”
Bai Lili lay on the sofa, scratching her cheek, and responded somewhat sheepishly, “Yes, that’s me.”
The two of them stood in the living room like that, the atmosphere becoming awkward for a moment as neither knew what to say. Anxious to break the ice, Bai Lili quickly spoke up.
“You just arrived. Do you want me to help you move your things?”
Qing Hanyin looked at her petite frame, a trace of imperceptible tenderness flashing in her eyes. As if remembering something, she gently shook her head.
“There is no need to trouble you, Miss Lili.”
Just as their conversation ended, the sound of light footsteps came from the entrance again. A pink-haired girl came bouncing in, constantly marveling aloud.
“Wow! Is this the dormitory for S-class ability users? It’s way too luxurious!”
The newcomer was Lilith. Her gaze swept around and instantly locked onto Bai Lili on the sofa. Her eyes lit up, and she immediately rushed over, pulling Bai Lili into a tight embrace.
Ever since awakening her vampire ability, she had never felt such a strong craving — a craving for the pure and alluring blood within Bai Lili.
Seeing that Lilith’s fangs were about to reach Bai Lili’s neck, Qing Hanyin moved instantly. She swiftly and accurately covered Lilith’s mouth, an unknown coldness swirling in her eyes, though her tone remained steady.
“Miss Lilith, doing this is not very polite.”
Lilith looked up at Qing Hanyin, her brow furrowed and her heart full of confusion. How did this black-haired girl know her name? Moreover, she vaguely sensed a hint of hostility in the other girl’s gaze.
“How do you know my name? Also, who are you?”
Seeing the situation, Qing Hanyin knew it wasn’t the right time for a standoff. She tried to change the subject, her gaze falling on Bai Lili, who was about to lose her breath in Lilith’s arms. She softly reminded, “Miss Lilith, you should let go first. Miss Lili is about to suffocate.”
Lilith looked down and saw Bai Lili’s face had turned bright red. Her hands were clutching Lilith’s arms tightly, unable to catch her breath from being squeezed. Pushing aside her doubts for the moment, Lilith let go, but the look she gave Qing Hanyin remained wary. She felt that this woman was not simple.
Having regained her freedom, Bai Lili gasped for air, her chest heaving violently. Lilith’s strength was simply too much, and the way she had looked at her made her skin crawl, a nameless fear rising in her heart.
While the three were at a standstill, the third roommate arrived as scheduled — it was the Eldest Miss, Su Ruo. Standing at the door, her gaze swept across the scene in the living room.
There was Bai Lili, whose face was pale from being choked; the pink-haired loli sitting on her; and the expressionless maid with long black hair standing to the side. A hint of amusement and pity flashed in the maid’s eyes, as if she were mocking Su Ruo for not even being able to protect her own fiancée.
Bai Lili looked at Su Ruo. Su Ruo’s hands were clenched into tight fists, and her face instantly darkened as she plotted something unknown.
But intuition told Bai Lili that she couldn’t let this standoff continue. Using all her strength, she pushed Lilith off her body, stood up, and ran toward her room without looking back.
The three people in the living room were instantly frozen in place, looking at each other in an awkward silence. After Bai Lili rushed into her room, she immediately double-locked the door and collapsed onto the bed as if all her strength had left her. She clutched her pillow tightly and cried out in despair.
“Mom, you really prepared a ‘big gift’ for me! 😔
At this moment, Bai Lili felt that every second spent in this dormitory was like a year.
She finally understood that Lilith had designs on her. At the thought of this, Bai Lili couldn’t help but tremble — she was truly afraid, afraid that Lilith would suddenly turn dark, lock her in a small dark room, and do all sorts of messy things to her.
Once this thought arose, she couldn’t suppress it. The more Bai Lili thought about it, the more panicked she became, and a terrifying guess emerged in her heart. ‘Could that strange dream… have been a prophetic dream?’
“Could it be… that I’ll only be able to be toyed with by Lilith in a small dark room from now on?” Bai Lili curled into a ball, clutching her pillow in despair.
After waiting for a long time, Bai Lili finally summoned the courage to cautiously get up. She crept to the door on her tiptoes and pressed her ear against the wood, listening for a long while. Only after confirming there was no sound outside did she gently turn the doorknob and poke her head out to look.
The atmosphere in the living room was still thick with tension. The three heroines were staring at each other with eyes full of hostility, as if they might start fighting at any moment. The slight sound of Bai Lili opening her door instantly drew the gaze of all three, their eyes landing on her in unison.
An invisible pressure surged toward her, making it hard for Bai Lili to breathe. Nevertheless, she braced herself and slowly walked to the sofa in the living room to sit down, her entire body as stiff as a stone.
Only one voice remained in Bai Lili’s heart: ‘My ordinary life is gone forever!!! 😒
