There were no pupils in them.

Only an eerie white light.

Blinding white, hollow white, white that made one afraid to look directly.

At her chest, glowing square patterns emerged.

The patterns looked like brands, or like seals, emitting a dark red glow.

Around her, several sharp red energy bands revolved.

The bands were like energy blades, or blood blades, slowly circling her. Wherever they passed, the air twisted.

The black long blade in her hand was now coated with red energy.

This was Ruan Yuan’s complete form as a high-energy knight. 

Black energy writhed like living things along the blade’s edge, emitting a faint buzzing sound.

Ruan Yuan raised her head and looked toward the giant existence in the distance.

That colossal entity that blotted out the moon.

That monster cradling Linlin in its arms.

“Linlin, don’t be afraid.”

She spoke, her voice soft but steady.

“I will save you.”

The moment the words left her mouth.

Boom!

The ground beneath Ruan Yuan’s feet exploded instantly!

Shattered stones flew, dust rose, leaving a deep crater several meters wide.

And Ruan Yuan herself had already shot forward like a bullet!
