Chapter 40: Stop your sword strike! I’m about to strike again!

“Yes, the Junior Brother was indeed very heroic last night…”

Luo Qianning flushed slightly as she agreed.

Last night, she had indeed seen He Qiu fighting bathed in blood, and she firmly believed in the story He Qiu had told.

Although, due to her tsundere nature, she did not want to admit in front of him that her Junior Brother was heroic, it was an undeniable fact, and Luo Qianning admired He Qiu from the bottom of her heart.

Especially at that moment, the boy’s back as he gritted his teeth and held his sword to fight the Demon Cultivator to the death—it was truly cool, wasn’t it!

To tell you the truth, Luo Qianning was fond of this type; what young girl wouldn’t like a righteous hero like this?

“He Qiu, is that how things happened?”

Elder Yude asked suspiciously, probing.

“Yes…”

He Qiu nodded, just about to confirm, but then shook his head.

“But not entirely.”

Elder Yude: ?

-Yes, but not entirely.

Are you playing riddles with me here?

Sigh, never mind, He Qiu is young and vigorous, and a genius has the pride of a genius…

Helpless, Elder Yude changed to a gentler tone.

“He Qiu, is there some sort of unspeakable secret that makes it inconvenient to report to me?”

“Yes.”

He Qiu nodded.

Sure enough, it was Elder Xue’s plan.

He Qiu must have received a secret mission from Elder Xue, which was why his answers were so vague…

Elder Yude understood.

He stroked his beard, then spoke.

“Then, looking at the objective facts, He Qiu did indeed go down the mountain alone last night, right?”

“Yes.”

“And, He Qiu did indeed encounter Demon Cultivator stragglers, right?”

“Yes.”

“And finally, He Qiu did indeed engage in battle with the Demon Cultivator stragglers and successfully delayed them until reinforcements arrived, right?”

“Yes…”

Elder Yude felt he had understood a thing or two.

He sighed leisurely and nodded at the last question.

“However, everything about last night, He Qiu, you cannot proactively explain in detail because of some special hidden circumstances.”

“Yes.”

He Qiu nodded obediently the whole time.

He did indeed have hidden circumstances he couldn’t speak of, and he had answered all of Elder Yude’s questions truthfully without lying once.

At the same time, Elder Yude also nodded, wisely choosing not to ask further.

He knew that no matter how much he pressured a young disciple, it was useless.

Seeing He Qiu’s well-behaved yet troubled expression, he knew that He Qiu must be bound by An Daosheng’s gag order, which was why he felt awkward and troubled.

Forget it, I really have nothing better to do, why do I care about so much…

He Qiu made a great contribution, so he should be rewarded.

Thinking of this, Elder Yude cleared his throat and announced:

“Fellow Daoists, I have already understood the specific situation of last night. For our disciples, He Qiu and Luo Qianning, one gets a first-class merit, and the other a third-class merit. Please rest assured, fellow Daoists, upon returning, our sect will certainly heavily reward He Qiu and Luo Qianning.”

“Good!”

After the Righteous Path Cultivators were satisfied, they cupped their hands one after another, preparing to say goodbye and return to the Kyushu Celestial Dynasty to report the battle results to the Empress.

“Then, Brother He Qiu, Lady Qianning, Lady Meng’er, we shall take our leave for now!”

“Brother He Qiu, we shall meet again!”

“Ah, yes, until we meet again.”

He Qiu also cupped his hands politely and bowed in the direction the Righteous Path Cultivators left.

After everyone had left, Elder Yude spoke leisurely:

“Let’s go, back to the sect with me to report the good news?”

“Yes.”

He Qiu responded.

Turning around, Elder Yude was about to leave, but suddenly turned his head back, looking with confusion at the purple-haired girl following behind He Qiu.

“Ah, I forgot…”

He patted his bald forehead and asked casually, “He Qiu, who is this girl again? She doesn’t look like our sect’s disciple.”

Seeing this, Zi Menghan did not wait for He Qiu to speak and took the initiative to step forward,提 lifting her skirt and bowing politely and decorously:

“This young woman is named Li Mengxin. Last night, I was captured by Demon Cultivators and almost lost my purity, but fortunately, Young Master He took the initiative to save me!”

“I see, so you…”

“Mengxin’s parents were originally mountain dwellers, but they lost their lives to passing Demon Cultivators last night. I am helpless in this world, and Young Master He saw that I was pitiful, so he took me in to return to the Longyin Sect to be a servant girl.”

“Ho, is that so.”

Elder Yude looked at the shy and blushing Zi Menghan, then at the elegant and handsome white-robed He Qiu, and immediately understood.

Good fellow, young as he is, he is already starting to build a harem and live together…

Tsk tsk, the young people these days~

He shook his head, stopped asking, summoned his sword, and led the way using Sword Flight.

Behind them, He Qiu looked at Luo Qianning with an awkward expression.

“Senior Sister, I haven’t learned Sword Flight yet…”

Luo Qianning was stunned, and her face turned a bit red.

In fact, she was almost completely ignorant of the sword path; she was a spiritual cultivator.

However, she could not lose face in front of her Junior Brother.

“Ah, yes… Hmph! There is really nothing I can do with you. Get on the sword, Senior Sister will carry you back.”

Acting tough, the girl tentatively raised her hand to summon a thin white sword, then mimicked the feeling of controlling fallen leaves to barely make the white sword float.

Then, Luo Qianning held her breath, gathered her courage, and jumped on.

The sword body swayed slightly for a while, but Luo Qianning stood steady.

Although she hadn’t learned it, she had seen many big shots show off with Sword Flight, and Luo Qianning felt that she could probably handle it.

Huff, huff…

Patting her chest with several deep breaths, Luo Qianning could not help but be in a great mood.

Very good!

I can do it!

With a hum and a smile, the cherry-white girl turned around confidently and invited He Qiu and Zi Menghan onto the sword.

“So this is Sword Flight… Amazing.”

He Qiu sighed and stepped onto it.

Soon, the sword body swayed again, but quickly, Luo Qianning stabilized it with spiritual energy.

Zi Menghan frowned slightly, with an ominous premonition in her heart.

She very much wanted to do the Sword Flight herself, but currently acting as a young mortal girl, she had to endure her anxiety and stepped onto Luo Qianning’s white sword.

Another shake…

A moment later, Luo Qianning in the very front breathed heavily and barely said:

“Stand still, I, I’m starting, okay?”

“Ah, this, Senior Sister, are you okay? Don’t force yourself…”

“Don’t worry, don’t worry! Junior Brother, shut up, you are not allowed to doubt Senior Sister Qianning’s driving skills!”

“Fine, fine, then Senior Sister, be careful, don’t be too—!!?”

As soon as He Qiu finished speaking, the white sword under his feet accelerated violently, like a derailed high-speed train, carrying the three of them straight into the sky.

A gale whistled past their ears, and He Qiu was so frightened that his whole body trembled and his legs went soft.

He was just a Junior Brother who had just entered the sect; where had he ever seen such a terrifying scene?

It was hundreds of times more stimulating than the roller coasters of his previous life!

Beneath his feet was the 100-meter-high Longyin Mountain Range.

This wasn’t just too fast; the direction of travel was wrong!

“Senior Sister, slow down!!!”

He Qiu said, his mouth filled with wind, trying to endure the fear.

In front, Luo Qianning was also about to cry from fright:

“I, I, I, I don’t know how to do this either! Mom, help me!”

“Damn it, if you don’t know how, why are you flying the sword! Stop the sword quickly, I want to get off—”

The situation was too critical; He Qiu was so scared that he started swearing.

Sure enough, this Senior Sister Qianning was unreliable!

He shouldn’t have believed a single word from this Luo Qianning in the first place!

Just then, a pair of small hands hugged He Qiu’s waist tightly.

He Qiu then realized that Zi Menghan, who was at the very back, was about to be thrown off, so she hugged him out of fear.

For a moment, the weight on He Qiu increased, and his footing became very unstable; he could be blown off by the gale at any moment.

Thump!

He Qiu didn’t care anymore either; he imitated Zi Menghan and tightly hugged Luo Qianning’s waist, leaning his head against the girl’s back.

“Jun, Junior Brother? What, what, what are you hugging me for all of a sudden!”

In front, Luo Qianning knew she was being hugged by her Junior Brother, and her body trembled.

Her face turned bright red, and her ability to control the sword became even more unstable as her inner heart wavered.

“No choice, Senior Sister’s driving skills are too terrible, I’m about to be thrown off.”

“Stop, stop it already! I can’t concentrate on flying the sword like this!”

“No! I refuse!”

He Qiu had given up on everything; no matter what today, he would not let go.

If he was going to fall, he would take Luo Qianning down with him.

Along the way, the white sword wiggled and twisted, drawing silver-white sword shadows in the sky.

It, it’s all over…

Luo Qianning was blushing, feeling the warm touch on her lower abdomen and waist; she was really about to break down.

It’s over, it’s all my fault for wanting to be tough…

I can’t hold on, I really can’t hold on anymore!

Seeing the white sword flying toward the ground out of control, Luo Qianning closed her eyes tightly, grabbed He Qiu’s left and right arms with her backhand, her fearful face tense, and her internal spiritual energy surging, ready to crash and protect herself and her Junior Brother at any time.

Sure enough, do I have to unleash the seal here to save Junior Brother and Lady Meng’er…

Gritting her teeth, Luo Qianning braced for the worst.

This was her mistake; she could not let such a stupid error of hers harm her Junior Brother and the innocent girl.

Here it comes!

Seeing the white sword about to hit a towering cliff, Luo Qianning frowned and gripped the arms of her Junior Brother who was hugging her, ready to welcome the huge shockwave at any moment.

But a moment later, she was surprised to find that the expected crash did not happen—

How, how is this possible?

Luo Qianning carefully opened her eyes, only to see the white sword beneath her feet bypass a large arc, passing through the gap in the cliff by a hair’s breadth, and then flying steadily over the Longyin Mountain Range.

Her driving skills suddenly became extremely stable.

Looking back, she saw He Qiu covered in cold sweat, and Zi Menghan, who was hugging He Qiu and keeping her head down.

What, what is going on?

Why did the white sword that was out of control suddenly become obedient and fly so steadily?

Luo Qianning was a little dazed.

In a flash, she discovered the pair of hands He Qiu was using to hold her, and she also sensed the warm currents of spiritual energy on her waist.

Could it be that Junior Brother is helping me control the sword?!
