Chapter 35: I Can See

“This is a gemstone necklace. It’s very expensive. I went through a lot of trouble to buy it.”

As she spoke, Yue Li handed the gemstone necklace into her hand.

Xing Lian reached out to take it. 

Her fingers felt its cool, faceted surface. 

It must be very beautiful.

But she was blind. 

No matter how beautiful the necklace was, it was useless to her. 

Besides, having been a boy before, she wasn’t interested in jewelry.

“I…”

Xing Lian opened her mouth, intending to say she didn’t like it and that there was no need to buy such things in the future—it was just a waste of effort.

If she said she didn’t like it, wouldn’t that render all that effort meaningless?

“I like it very much.”

She changed her words.

“What a little liar.”

“Alright, I know you don’t like gemstone necklaces. You only changed your answer to comfort me. I’m not that foolish, to buy something like this for you to wear knowing you can’t see.”

Xing Lian felt even more confused.

If she knew, then why did she still buy the necklace for her?

“This gemstone necklace isn’t a simple ornament. It’s a treasure with magical power.”

Yue Li explained softly to her.

Hearing this, Xing Lian felt she somewhat understood.

“Can you see me?” Yue Li asked curiously.

Xing Lian’s gaze turned to Yue Li. 

She saw Yue Li’s appearance.

She was a beautiful woman with beast ears.

Her features were delicate and lovely. 

Aside from her somewhat lacking figure, she was perfect in every other aspect.

“I can see.”

Xing Lian nodded excitedly.

“Good that you can see. Do you like this gift?”

Having spent months with Xing Lian, Yue Li noticed that every time Xing Lian went outside, a look of regret would flash across her face.

Knowing Xing Lian was deeply bothered by her blindness, Yue Li naturally wanted to ease her worry.

If actively used, at the cost of a narrowed field of view, this range could be extended to about one hundred meters.

“Each has its own merits compared to normal eyes.”

Xing Lian felt both had their advantages.

Besides these limitations, the necklace’s vision couldn’t perceive color, and using it required charging.

One Energy Crystal could power it for three months. 

The crystals were expensive, beyond the means of ordinary people.

Yue Li explained all the necklace’s precautions, and Xing Lian memorized them one by one.

Although the gemstone necklace wasn’t perfect, for her, it was undoubtedly the most precious treasure.

Xing Lian clutched the necklace tightly with both hands, so moved she was on the verge of tears.

‘Appreciation?’ Xing Lian was stunned.

She had nothing. 

What could she give her?

Having said that, her face still red, she hugged Yue Li, tilted her head up, leaned close to her cheek, and placed a light kiss on her lips.

‘She’s already kissed me. Why isn’t she making a move?’

Xing Lian was bewildered. 

She waited and waited, but Yue Li remained still.

‘If just a kiss on the cheek isn’t enough, then…’

Xing Lian took a deep breath. 

She tilted her head up again, kissed Yue Li’s lips, and her fingers slipped inside the collar of her robe.
