Lilith stood beside Bai Lili and asked the question she had been wanting to ask.
“Vivianna, Lili only had contact with that mask for about a day before using it, yet her performance was nothing like a first-timer’s.”
“Why is that?”
Vivianna looked at Lilith and pointed toward Bai Lili.
“She’s right here. Asking her directly would be more appropriate.”
Bai Lili, who had just sheathed her blade, also heard Lilith’s question and scratched her head.
“Once I put it on, I just… knew how to use it by feel.”
Lilith’s mouth twitched. ‘Coming here has turned Lili from a healer into an ultimate warrior. She’s gotten more opportunities than I have.’
While others were still struggling to find their chances, opportunities were actively seeking out Bai Lili. Their Lili was truly a lucky star.
Once matters were more or less settled, Bai Lili yawned and returned to her room to sleep. Qianmeng had already tidied it up. She lay down on the bed and fell into a comfortable, deep sleep.
The match with Lilith had been too draining. After Bai Lili fell into a deep slumber, Lilith quietly opened Bai Lili’s door.
She tiptoed inside, closed the door, walked to Bai Lili’s side, gently picked up a strand of her golden hair, then lifted the covers and slipped into bed herself.
Sniffing the scent of the person beside her, she comfortably closed her eyes and also fell asleep.
When Bai Lili woke up, Lilith wasn’t beside her. Bai Lili felt her gains from this trip were already sufficient, more than enough to handle that competition.
Moreover, her equipment seemed different from the S-grade gear in her world, so she didn’t have to worry about some thousand-year-old geezer from a novel popping out to steal it.
Bai Lili got up, changed her clothes, and prepared to go eat. On the way to the dining table, Lilith happened to join her.
It wasn’t bad here. She didn’t have to provide blood donations for Lilith herself. After all, Vivianna was the Blood Clan Queen. If the blood she provided couldn’t satisfy Lilith…
Then Bai Lili would really have to suspect if this Lilith was just tricking her for her blood.
At the dining table, Bai Lili looked at Lilith across from her and chatted about daily life for a while.
“Lilith, where did you learn all those things? School teachers probably don’t teach that, right?”
Lilith then told Bai Lili about her experience in the first trial, of course omitting some unnecessary details.
Bai Lili looked at Lilith with some sympathy. Studying that many books alone… if it were her, she’d probably have blown up that library long ago.
……..
Perspective shifts to Vivianna’s side.
Qianmeng stood beside Vivianna, her tone indifferent.
“Master, the origins of those two prepared items are truly…”
Before Qianmeng could finish, Vivianna interrupted her.
“Some things don’t require knowing so much. You just need to know that those things were originally hers. It was only a matter of time before they were returned to their rightful owner.”
………….
Perspective returns to Bai Lili.
Bai Lili sneezed. She had a feeling someone was talking bad about her. There was too little to do here. Bai Lili could only hope Lilith would quickly pass her trials.
Thinking of this, Bai Lili asked Lilith.
“What’s your next trial?”
Lilith spread her hands, indicating she didn’t know. ‘I hate riddlers!’
Bai Lili seemed to remember something else and chatted with Lilith about it.
“Why was that Long Chen in such a hurry to rush into this secret realm? It feels like he already knew of its existence.”
Hearing Bai Lili mention Long Chen, Lilith suddenly remembered. She hadn’t asked Lilith yet. Too many good things had happened these past few days, and she had forgotten.
