Time passed quickly. In the blink of an eye, they had gone from entering this secret realm to the final trial.
Lilith finally asked Vivianna at the end.
“Why are you helping me?”
Vivianna maintained her cryptic tone.
“You’ll find out in due time.”
Seeing that Vivianna wouldn’t answer, Lilith changed to another question.
“Was there something on that person who charged in at the beginning?”
Vivianna pointed at Lilith.
“Similar to what’s on you, but different. What’s on him is a pest of the world.”
Lilith was about to ask what the difference was when Vivianna interrupted her next move.
“You’ll find out why later.”
Lilith once again felt how annoying a cryptic person could be. Vivianna continued speaking.
“Alright, it’s time for the final trial.”
Saying this, Vivianna led Lilith to a blood pool.
“Just stay in there overnight.”
Lilith was dumbfounded. Just like that? That seemed too simple.
But when she actually fully immersed herself in the blood pool, she regretted it.
The pain on her body kept intensifying. It felt as if the blood in her body had gained its own consciousness, rampaging wildly inside her.
It made her feel like her body was about to explode. The pain caused Lilith to curl up, but it didn’t alleviate the agony in the slightest.
She stayed in the blood pool for who knows how long. It was only supposed to be one night, but it felt incredibly long to her.
—
Bai Lili’s side.
Bai Lili found Vivianna, her hands behind her back, her body tense and visibly nervous.
Vivianna was already seated on her unchanging throne, propping her head up, giving off a feeling of reigning over the world, lofty and queen-like.
Just as Bai Lili was about to speak, Vivianna spoke first.
“I know you’re here for Lilith. I’ll have Qianmeng take you to her. No need to say more.”
It was a different feeling from the playful persona before. Now, Vivianna gave Bai Lili the impression of what a Blood Clan Queen should truly be like.
“Thank you.”
After expressing her thanks, Bai Lili followed Qianmeng out of Vivianna’s sight.
Qianmeng led Bai Lili to the blood pool where Lilith was. Seeing Lilith’s pained expression in the pool,
Bai Lili instinctively wanted to rush in and pull Lilith out.
But a tremendous force held Bai Lili back. A cold voice entered her ears.
“Don’t go over. That’s the blood pool. It can fully activate Lilith’s royal bloodline.”
Bai Lili looked at Lilith.
“Can I go in to help her?”
Qianmeng thought for a moment.
“You can, as long as you don’t come out. But I must warn you, entering the blood pool is extremely painful.”
Without hesitation, Bai Lili walked directly into the blood pool. The still-curled-up Lilith only felt that amidst the pain, a warm embrace suddenly appeared.
It held her tightly, and the pain eased somewhat. Lilith opened her eyes and saw Bai Lili holding her. She spoke with difficulty.
“Lili, how did you get here?”
Bai Lili placed a finger on her lips, signaling Lilith not to say more. After all, Bai Lili herself was in considerable pain.
Although Bai Lili disliked Lilith’s lack of boundaries and the act of stealing her first kiss, since coming here, it had mostly been Lilith passing the trials while she herself had done nothing.
Even though this was originally Lilith’s trial, she still wanted to contribute her part, as she had received a lot of care from Lilith.
In the blood pool, Bai Lili and Lilith embraced each other. Lilith held Bai Lili tightly in her arms, as if it could ease her pain, and indeed it did.
Bai Lili’s own ability truly alleviated most of Lilith’s pain. Lilith and Bai Lili held each other like this.
As time passed, the pain on Lilith’s body intensified further. The hand holding Bai Lili tightened even more. Bai Lili was almost suffocated by Lilith’s embrace.
Bai Lili noticed Lilith’s reaction was much more intense than hers. It seemed the blood pool’s effect was more pronounced on the Blood Clan.
Just as Bai Lili was still pondering the blood pool, Lilith’s head moved close to Bai Lili’s neck.
Bai Lili sensed something was wrong and tried to push away the face pressed against her neck, but found it useless.
Then, Lilith directly bit into Bai Lili’s neck. Bai Lili felt her blood continuously draining. Lilith held her tighter and tighter, and she couldn’t make any other movements.
After being fed on by Lilith for a while, Bai Lili felt her consciousness gradually fading. Finally, she passed out, but Lilith still wasn’t behaving.
—
An unknown amount of time passed.
Lilith woke up first, feeling completely relaxed all over, with none of the pain from when she first entered the pool.
Lilith saw that her original pink long hair had turned silver-white, like Vivianna’s.
And a soft sensation came from her hand. She looked down and saw her hand was actually resting on Bai Lili’s ample chest.
As if guided by some impulse, she gave it another squeeze. Coming to her senses, Lilith checked Bai Lili’s breathing with her hand, then patted her own modest chest, letting out a sigh of relief.
“Thank goodness. She’s probably just passed out.”
Lilith picked Bai Lili up horizontally, carrying her in a princess hold as she walked out of the blood pool. She noticed the blood in the pool had decreased significantly. If it had reached her chest before, now it only reached her knees.
Lilith didn’t dwell on it. Her primary task now was to settle Bai Lili. Walking on the way to Bai Lili’s room, Lilith felt her overall strength had been enhanced in all aspects.
If she fought the masked Super Saiyan Fox Bai Lili now, she should have about a ninety percent chance of winning.
But adding that sword into the equation, Lilith wasn’t sure. A single mask gave Bai Lili such a boost, let alone a weapon.
Placing Bai Lili on the soft bed, she thoughtfully covered her with the blanket. Perhaps due to the blood pool’s properties, neither Lilith nor Bai Lili were stained with blood from the pool upon exiting.
Without further thought, Lilith walked to the mirror to look at her current appearance. Silver long hair, eyes still ruby-red, without excessive changes.
Lilith was quite satisfied with this. If the change had been too drastic, Bai Lili might have felt unfamiliar with her. But compared to this silver hair, Lilith still preferred interacting with Bai Lili with her previous pink hair.
Lilith searched her memories and indeed found the spell. She then chanted the incantation to change her hair back to pink.
Somehow, she felt it would be better to interact with Bai Lili with this pink hair.
