For a Great Witch, forget the blink of an eye; even a momentary pause was more than enough.
The flying sand was frozen solid by ice and fell to the ground.
Immediately after, a ferocious flame dragon roared out, opening its massive maw and biting off half of the other’s body in one savage chomp.
It didn’t stop there, charging into the spatial rift to pursue the fleeing remnants of the opponent.
A piercing, wretched scream slowly faded as the spatial rift closed.
“Damn, she ran fast. Consider her lucky.”
Yuexue frowned, somewhat dissatisfied.
She had started a bit too slow, even though it’s said that it’s better for a woman to be a little slow.
However, Yuexue also sensed something off about the earlier moment.
She looked at Lin Lue.
That momentary spatial stasis just now…
“Another one of your magical little trinkets?”
“Yeah, just a somewhat magical space trinket, nothing special.”
Lin Lue spread his hands, his expression sincere.
He absolutely could not let Yuexue realize he had actually become a witch.
“Don’t dwell on it. The commotion was a bit big. If we stay any longer, the Enforcers will come. We should leave.”
Yuexue narrowed her eyes, circling Lin Lue once, looking him up and down.
She clearly didn’t believe his explanation, but seeing his unwillingness to elaborate, she didn’t press further.
Yuexue wanted to say that the Lower District Law Enforcement Bureau was just a big, slapdash organization and wouldn’t be that fast.
But instead, she said, “Fine, let’s go.”
Just as the two were about to turn and leave.
Crack… crack…
That closed spatial rift suddenly shattered and exploded!
A half-body, charred by flames, shot out from the rift like a cannonball, streaking straight toward Yuexue with a speed so fast it created a whistling sound.
Yuexue: ?
Her eyes turned cold, the aura around her shifting abruptly.
Yuexue’s anger flared.
“Instead of using the chance to flee far away and save your life, you dare return to attack me? Admirable courage.”
It’s just a shame this courage wasn’t supported by matching strength.
Ice and Fire Power surged in Yuexue’s palm, ready to shatter the attacker with one strike.
Wait, something’s wrong!
Yuexue’s nose twitched slightly, catching a familiar scent.
Her expression changed, and she immediately withdrew her Magic Power, not daring to let a single wisp leak out.
She reached out, grabbed Lin Lue, and pulled him back rapidly, hiding behind a massive boulder.
She held her breath, not daring to make a sound.
Lin Lue was full of question marks.
Pressed against the rock to sit, he didn’t understand why Yuexue was suddenly so tense.
The flying half-body crashed onto the ground right in front of Lin Lue’s feet with a dull thud.
Lin Lue glanced at it. It was pretty much charcoal.
Yuexue’s flames were fierce.
He looked toward the spatial rift.
It seemed as if an invisible giant hand was prying it open.
Space was in disorder, fragments falling.
They rolled on a pristine white skirt hem.
White silk stocking cuffs hugged thigh flesh.
White high heels stepped onto the empty air.
A woman in a plain, pure white dress stepped out unhurriedly, holding a thick Magic Book in one hand.
Her features were clear and cold, her temperament gentle and graceful.
With each step, subtle spatial ripples spread beneath her feet.
Her skirt fluttered in the wind, suspended above the messy ruins, appearing extraordinarily out of place—holy and beautiful.
“The Purity Sect…”
Molly spoke softly, scanning her surroundings.
Her voice caught.
The pages of the Magic Book in her hand flipped frantically, trembling so violently they nearly slipped from her grasp.
Her gaze fell on Lin Lue.
Her naturally rosy, tender lips parted in astonishment.
“Lin Lue? What are you doing here??”
Lin Lue blinked and waved at her in greeting.
“What a coincidence, Miss Molly.”
So that was it.
No wonder Yuexue had panicked and hidden.
She had sensed Molly tearing through space to come here.
The Space Witch, going wherever she pleased, unrestricted.
Watching clouds at dawn, chasing the sunset at dusk.
“Why am I here?”
Lin Lue secretly pinched his own thigh, enduring the pain to squeeze out two glimmers of tears.
He feigned heartbreak, as if he had suffered a great injustice.
“Miss Molly, you know… with my looks in the Lower District… they’re a bit too outstanding, and without any strength, it’s a kind of original sin.”
“I was just walking down the street when suddenly two muscular women in black rushed out from a side alley, stuffed me into a sack, and kidnapped me to this place.”
“Just now, there was this black-robed woman who was so bad, so excessive. She forced me to kneel and kiss the top of her foot, to be her plaything… I refused, and she was about to take action against me, to force herself on me.”
“Just when I was utterly helpless and in despair, thankfully, an unknown witch happened to pass by, saw the evil here, and took action to clean this place out. After doing all that, she drifted away.”
“And then… you arrived, Miss Molly.”
Lin Lue’s acting was masterful, his tone sincere, wiping the corner of his eye with the back of his hand, showing no flaw.
Molly frowned, especially upon hearing that Lin Lue had almost been forced to be a toy.
Her anger meter shot straight to the max.
“What? That woman… how dare she?!”
She hadn’t even prepared herself to take him yet.
And now, he was almost roughly taken by some other bad woman?!
“And you, Miss Molly?”
Molly gritted her teeth a few times before barely calming her breathing.
“Remember when I rushed into the fire to save people before? It was actually a trap. Someone set me up, trying to mess with me. I later found out it was people from the Purity Sect causing trouble and paid a price to get the location of one of their strongholds.”
“Similarly, I felt I wasn’t strong enough yet, so I planned to use it for special training, to temper myself. That’s why I came here. I just didn’t expect someone to have acted first.”
Molly felt a bit regretful.
After that incident, she felt she had made some progress in her spatial manipulation.
She was ready to treat it like playing a game, clearing this “dungeon” to gain experience and “level up.”
She never expected someone to have snuck in and taken it first.
“Are you okay? Are you hurt?”
“I’m fine. Speaking of which, Miss Molly, did you knock this charred half-body back?”
Molly followed Lin Lue’s pointing finger and glanced at the well-done fragments on the ground.
“Yes.”
“Just now, while traversing space, I felt this creature was off—panicked, flustered, and all charred black—so I instinctively acted and slapped it out.”
Molly said it was just a casual thing.
Looking at it now, this one was the “lucky one.”
But not that lucky, because she ran into her.
…Wait! Molly remembered Lin Lue’s words.
Earlier, a black-robed old woman wanted to take him…
Molly noticed the unburned fragments of black robe on the body.
Her eyes changed.
“Lin Lue, was it this old woman…”
Having served Molly many times, one could say that if Molly just lifted her leg, Lin Lue knew to reach out, take off her shoes and socks, and massage her pink, jade-like feet.
“Yes.”
Lin Lue nodded.
Thump!
A foot came down, heavily stomping on the remaining torso.
Invisible Space Power surged.
In an instant, it ground the remaining torso into powder finer than sand grains.
Not a single speck stuck to those snow-white high heels.
“There, it’s done. I’ve taken care of her.”
Molly smiled gently.
“Don’t be afraid.”
Her tone was so tender and protective it made Lin Lue inwardly suck in a breath, breaking through his defenses.
This was motherly affection!
