“Hmm… Why does it feel a bit wet, and a bit smelly?”
Shilo’s eyelids twitched, and he opened his eyes with some effort.
The familiar dog’s face came into view. Man and dog stared at each other, and Shilo fell silent.
Xiaobai, however, chose that moment to stretch out his big tongue and give Shilo’s face a lick, breaking the silence.
Shilo raised an eyebrow in annoyance, grabbing the dog’s muzzle, but the next second, Xiaobai suddenly let out a pitiful yelp, startling Shilo into immediately letting go.
He saw Xiaobai hanging his head low, lying dejectedly on the floor. His usually happily wagging big tail was also drooping limply on the ground as he looked at Shilo cautiously.
Puzzled, Shilo sat up, wanting to pat the dog’s head to comfort him, but heard a rip sound. For some reason, the blanket wrapped around him tore open.
This made Shilo pause for a moment. He wanted to ask the Saintess what was going on, but after looking around, he couldn’t find her.
With no other choice, he got up. Seeing a glass of water on the table, he thought he’d moisten his throat first—it felt terribly dry.
The result…
Bang!
The glass shattered, and the water inside spilled all over the table.
Shilo: “……”
Looking at his own hands, Shilo was somewhat confused. Even someone as slow as him understood that something was wrong with his body.
But now that the Saintess wasn’t here, he really had no one to ask for an explanation.
Helplessly, he wandered around the room, looking for any trace of the Saintess. A few small notes caught his eye, and he picked them up to look.
Looking at the neat, delicate handwriting, Shilo felt it was familiar—it was the Saintess’s handwriting.
After quickly scanning the contents, he gradually understood the situation.
“So I’ve been unconscious for this long?”
“And… the Saintess went out alone…”
Somehow, he felt a bit uneasy.
After all, she seemed like the type who was very good at getting into trouble…
Just as he was thinking this, his stomach growled at an inopportune time, reminding him that the Saintess had left food for him.
He instinctively reached out to open the refrigerator but stopped his hand mid-air, worried the fridge might share the same fate as the water glass.
Shilo scratched his head irritably. This feeling of being bound hand and foot was extremely frustrating.
He wanted to find something to test his body’s condition but didn’t see anything particularly hard.
The only things that could be considered somewhat hard were probably the sofa and the table. He needed the table for eating, and the sofa went without saying.
If he broke the sofa, he had a feeling the Saintess would be angry for a whole day…
Sigh… Wait, isn’t this my house?
Letting out a helpless sigh, Shilo thought about it and decided to go outside to find something, but he encountered a new problem.
“How do I open the door?”
Looking at the tightly closed front door, Shilo fell silent again. He first glanced at the windows, found they were also closed, and then shifted his gaze back.
After struggling for a long time, just as he was about to smash the door open, he suddenly noticed Xiaobai, who was still whimpering nearby.
A strange idea popped into his head.
“Hey, stupid dog, help me open the door. I’ll get you something tasty later.”
Xiaobai, who had been feeling down just moments before, immediately perked up, his big tail wagging nonstop. He first ran over to Shilo and rubbed against him, then walked confidently toward the door.
Right in front of Shilo, in an extremely natural manner, he easily opened the door, leaving Shilo dumbfounded.
Holy shit, that actually worked!
I was just saying it…
Xiaobai, standing to the side, then made an extremely human-like expression, seeming to look down on Shilo’s shocked reaction.
However, Shilo couldn’t be bothered to argue with a dog right now and quickly slipped out.
Passing by the doorway, he felt something was strange but didn’t think much of it as he went to the open area to look for something.
The first things he saw were several wooden swords—the weapons he used for training. He picked one up.
Sure enough, as soon as he applied a little force, the wooden handle shattered.
He tried several times in a row and gradually realized that it seemed his strength was out of control.
It wasn’t just his grip; sometimes when walking, he would accidentally launch himself forward.
“What’s going on?” Shilo was very troubled.
He recalled the scene before he lost consciousness—he had been communicating with the Holy Power…
“Oh, right, Holy Power!”
Shilo closed his eyes and tried to sense his Holy Power again. The moment he entered his mental space, he was startled by what he saw inside.
Why had his Holy Power turned into water?
Looking at the white liquid dotted with sparkling starlight, Shilo tentatively called out.
‘Are you all okay?’
As soon as the thought formed, a massive stream of information flooded into his brain, all filled with happiness and excitement. Infected by this emotion, even he couldn’t help but smile.
After simply soothing them, he withdrew from his mental space, having gained some understanding of his own condition.
It seemed the power rampage was caused by the mutation of the Holy Power…
Come to think of it… does this count as completing Sublimation?
It was just a guess at first, but slowly Shilo became fairly certain of his idea.
On one hand, his current Holy Power looked very similar to what the Saintess described as the second stage of Holy Power—Sacred Liquid. At the very least, it was a liquid.
On the other hand, although his power was running wild, he could clearly feel that his current physical fitness was on a completely different level than before.
Combined with the Saintess’s terrifying strength, if that was the result of undergoing Sublimation, then it all made sense.
Just as he was lost in these random thoughts, he suddenly felt an extremely intense energy fluctuation around him. Turning to look, he saw a figure standing at the farm gate.
After hesitating for a moment, he imitated the Saintess’s previous manner and waved, saying:
“Saintess, welcome home.”
Lintis, who had just entered the farm, blinked, a bit surprised that Mr. Shilo would come to greet her. Also…
A mischievous smile appeared on her face. “Mr. Shilo~ While I understand you might want a cute and beautiful girl like me as your wife, I’m sorry to say I am not~”
Shilo was taken aback, not understanding her meaning at first. But having been teased by her so often, he quickly found the flaw in her logic and couldn’t help but roll his eyes.
“Saintess, ‘coming home’ can also describe a cousin.”
“Eh!” Lintis was greatly shocked, her mood instantly plummeting. “How can you say that!”
Seeing the Saintess was in the mood for acting, Shilo knew it was best not to engage with her right now.
A few seconds later, the Saintess, finding it no fun on her own, pouted and walked over. As she passed by him, she very naturally handed over all the bags and basket she was carrying.
Shilo was about to voice a refusal, but they were forcibly shoved into his hands. Then, the Saintess pointed at him and lectured:
“Hmph! Mr. Shilo, when you see a cute and beautiful girl carrying all sorts of bags returning home, you should immediately step up and help carry things! To make me shove them into your hands is truly disappointing!”
As soon as she finished speaking, there was a crack sound. The handle of the basket shattered, and the sandwiches inside scattered all over the ground.
Lintis looked at the sandwiches on the ground, then at Shilo’s innocent face. Her fists clenched.
“Shi! Lo! Mis! Ter!”
