Naya was very surprised by Noah’s question.
He first rubbed his cane, then nodded and said, “Well… I did agree, but I feel it’s not her true intention. If we can’t achieve the goal of destroying the Truth Organization, she’ll leave soon.”
The reason Noah asked was because she wanted to approach Xin discreetly to tell her about the name issue, but she subconsciously felt she shouldn’t make Naya suspicious, so she just made an excuse.
After hearing Naya’s explanation, Noah immediately nodded and said, “Is that so… That’s easy then. I do have some history with her—after all, we escaped from Envy together, facing life and death. I’ll go persuade her again, maybe I can strengthen her resolve to stay.”
After hearing Noah’s words, Naya hesitated slightly.
“Hmm… Dear, you’ve only just returned to the organization and you’ve lost your memory. Let me handle these trivial matters of the organization. You should get some more rest, okay?”
Noah immediately shook her head.
She had already thought of a reason, and then said with righteous indignation, “It’s fine. I just want to familiarize myself with my identity as soon as possible. Even though I don’t remember what I was like before, being able to handle some organizational affairs counts as my formal return, doesn’t it?”
Noah’s reason seemed irrefutable.
Naya also nodded helplessly.
“Alright, dear, but don’t overwork yourself. I’ll handle everything.”
Noah nodded, then slowed her pace.
She no longer followed the main group’s rapid march, but instead dropped back to Xin’s side.
Xin was at the very back of the main group.
She was walking slowly, looking left and right as if searching for something to file her nails.
When she saw Noah approaching her, she asked with confusion, “What’s up?”
Noah walked up to Xin and gradually stopped.
Xin could tell she wanted to talk, so she stopped as well.
After seeing that the main group was far away and no one could hear their conversation, Noah quickly asked Xin, “Miss Xin, do you know what my name is?”
Xin felt baffled.
This person had sneaked over to her and asked such a strange question.
Xin gave Noah a weird look.
“Are you having another episode? Aren’t you called Geheluosi?”
“No!” Noah immediately became serious. She frowned deeply and said in an extremely earnest tone, “I’m Noah! My name is Noah!”
“Noah?” Xin blinked in confusion, then shrugged.
“Oh, then just call yourself whatever you want.
Why are you telling me?”
“I’m serious!” Noah’s expression was even more serious than before.
She emphasized again, “Remember! My name is Noah!”
“Tsk, whatever you call yourself, you still gotta eat.” Xin looked at Noah with disdain, shaking her head.
“You pretty girls are so troublesome. It’s just a name.”
Just as Noah was about to say something else, Naya, who was at the front of the group, suddenly circled around and came over.
Noah felt like she had been caught.
After giving Xin a meaningful look, she stepped forward to meet him.
When Naya saw Noah approaching, he immediately smiled and asked, “How did it go? Did she say anything?”
“Ah… no, she still doesn’t think our team can destroy the Truth Organization.
She’s still on the fence.” Noah shook her head and replied confidently, as if she had really persuaded Xin.
“Is that so…” Naya thought quietly for a moment.
“It’s fine, dear. I’ll make her change her mind. Let’s head back to the base first.”
Noah nodded, then stepped forward to catch up with the main group.
But Naya didn’t move.
He quietly watched Noah’s back, his thoughts unreadable.
Xin caught up from behind.
She gave Naya a puzzled look.
“Why aren’t you moving? What are you standing here for?”
“Oh… nothing…” Naya composed himself and stepped forward to follow.
He looked at Noah’s back and asked Xin beside him, “Miss Xin, was my wife just discussing joining the organization with you?”
“Hey, no. What’s up with you two?” Xin frowned, about to ask if Naya was also having an episode, since what Noah had just told her and what Naya was saying were completely unrelated.
But suddenly, Xin remembered the look Noah had given her before leaving.
She paused for a moment, then changed her tune.
“You already asked once, and you sent her to ask again? Didn’t I say I haven’t made up my mind? Let me think it over carefully, alright?”
Upon hearing Xin’s complaining tone, Naya immediately gave an embarrassed laugh.
“Sorry, sorry, Miss Xin. My fault for being too impatient. We’re preparing a ritual to restore our power. If it really succeeds, we can…”
Naya continued to ramble on and on to Xin until she got annoyed and shooed him away.
Xin watched Naya rejoin the group, then also stepped forward to follow.
She quietly watched the silhouettes of Naya and Noah walking side by side, and thought to herself with some confusion.
‘This little beauty doesn’t want Naya to know she told me about the name issue… I can’t understand it. Is the name really that important?’
Unable to figure it out, Xin shook her head helplessly.
She wagged her tail and caught up, deciding to stop thinking about this nonsense.
Everyone finally arrived at the Primordial Organization’s base.
It was originally a laboratory of the Research Institute, with very bright lights.
Several large beds were lined against the walls, and the surrounding tables were covered with medical tools like scalpels and syringes.
The central large bed even had a surgical light hanging over it.
Overall, it looked much cleaner than the area near the Main Gate.
The returned members of the Primordial Organization began to tidy up the base.
Since the Research Institute had ample water supply, everyone first had a drink of water, then each found a place to rest.
Although this place was also oppressive, Noah still felt it was much better than her original room.
She nodded and said in a tone of understanding, “So your base is here? It is indeed quite far from the Main Gate.”
“Dear, you should say ‘our base,'” Naya corrected with a smile. “This is your base too.”
Noah smiled and shook her head, saying nothing.
At that moment, Xin, who was at the very back of the group, finally caught up.
She first looked around the layout, then said in a surprised tone, “Oh, you set up your base here? Pretty good choice. Nice.”
Xin commented on the place as she walked, as if it were her own home.
The members of the Primordial Organization were somewhat displeased with Xin’s attitude.
Even if she had special abilities, she had just joined the organization.
As a junior, couldn’t she show any humility?
But Xin didn’t care at all about the looks from those around her.
She walked straight to the largest bed in the center, extended her tail, and flicked a member standing by the bed, saying in an arrogant tone.
“Move. Let me lie down for a bit.”
This member immediately got angry.
He slapped the bed board and stood up, demanding angrily, “Ha? On what grounds? Can’t you find a place to rest yourself?!”
