“Lisiluo, this love letter was written by you, right?”
Faced with the sudden question, the glasses-wearing girl named Lisiluo froze on the spot. Her crimson eyes—characteristic of the Bloodkin—darted around in panic.
Thankfully, only the two of them remained in the classroom that afternoon, so there was no worry about classmates overhearing. Unfortunately, Lisiluo had already caught the attention of the academy’s most dangerous person.
The girl across from her wore the deep blue uniform of the upper years. Her pleated skirt ended just above her knees, revealing slender calves wrapped in black thigh-high stockings. With her sharply upturned eyes, that teasing lilt in her voice, and those signature black twin-tails… she was petite. And cute.
That was Lisiluo’s first impression.
It was hard to believe this girl was actually her senior—and the young lady of the Mu family, one of the great merchant houses. Mu Wan.
Mu Wan gave the love letter in her hand a little shake. Elegant handwriting on the envelope read: [To My Dear Senior].
“You’re quite bold, junior. Trying to ask me out when you’ve barely been enrolled a few weeks.”
Lisiluo’s cheeks flushed crimson in an instant.
“N-No, Mu Wan-senpai! That letter is—”
“Hmm? What is it?”
Mu Wan sat down across from her, deliberately leaning forward.
Lisiluo wore the same academy uniform, but the curves beneath it were noticeably fuller than Mu Wan’s. Silver-gray bangs hid whatever expression she wore right now.
Fortunately, Mu Wan was short enough that a slight tilt of her head let her see the panic written all over Lisiluo’s delicate face. The girl didn’t dare meet her eyes.
Even without Lisiluo saying a word, Mu Wan knew exactly what she was thinking.
Lisiluo had to be wondering why her love letter had ended up in the hands of the infamous Mu family’s daughter—and why Mu Wan seemed to be under such a strange misunderstanding.
According to the game plot from Mu Wan’s memories of her previous life, if she hadn’t swapped the nameplates on the storage lockers ahead of time, this should have been the scene where Lisiluo confessed to the heroine, Yu Weian.
Of course, back then, as a pure-hearted straight guy, Mu Wan hadn’t possessed any weird habits of stealing other people’s lovers. She had a much more direct reason for interfering now.
Lisiluo was a Bloodkin hybrid and a newly transferred student.
Don’t be fooled by how soft and harmless she looked right now—like a sweet little cream puff. In the game, she had tormented the heroine the most viciously, often leaving the player-controlled Yu Weian mentally and physically exhausted.
In the end, when the heroine blackened and destroyed the world, none of those pursuers—including Lisiluo—could escape responsibility.
As for Mu Wan herself, the villainess young lady who had spent the entire game being hopelessly dense, she not only never managed to win over a single lover, but her death had been the most miserable of all the antagonists.
That was why Mu Wan had to strike first and crush this whole mess in its cradle.
The heroine coming for revenge? No need to worry.
Without any romance routes clouding her judgment, the heroine was simply the standard victim. If she had truly harbored ill will, she wouldn’t have let herself be tormented by her lovers for so long.
“Could it be…” Mu Wan propped her chin on her hand, a wicked little smile playing on her lips.
She deftly flipped the envelope between her fingers, letting its edge tap rhythmically against the desk.
“You aren’t about to tell me that even though this letter was sitting in my locker, it wasn’t actually meant for me, are you?”
“Eh? How could that be…? I double-checked before putting it in…”
Lisiluo’s body gave a visible jolt. She hurriedly shook her head in denial.
“N-No, I must’ve made a mistake… I’m sorry, senpai.”
“That’s odd. It clearly says [To My Dear Senior] right here. Don’t tell me—”
Mu Wan drew out the words on purpose, the mischief in her amber eyes deepening.
“Don’t tell me it was meant for another senior? Like Yu Weian, for example?”
The moment she heard her crush’s name, Lisiluo’s body trembled again.
Her fingers twisted together, clutching the hem of her uniform with white-knuckled force. Her breathing turned quick and shallow.
“Ah, I worked up the courage to come meet you because I thought this was your confession, junior.”
Mu Wan stood up and patted down her pleated skirt before walking over to stand beside the shaking Lisiluo.
“I never expected our gentle, kind Lisiluo junior to be the type who plays with people’s feelings. How heartbreaking.”
“And then you had the nerve to use such a flimsy excuse like [Actually, it was for Yu Weian].”
“I’m angry now. I think everyone deserves to know your true colors.”
Mu Wan turned her head away with a huff. Her amber eyes even shimmered with a hint of tears, as though she had genuinely been hurt.
“No!”
A hand suddenly grabbed her arm.
Mu Wan turned back to find Lisiluo clutching her uniform sleeve with startling strength.
“I-I…”
Lisiluo’s lips quivered. One hand pressed against her chest as she forced the words out:
“I admit it… This letter… was meant for you, Mu Wan-senpai…”
She lifted her head. Strands of hair slipped past the edge of her glasses, her expression a tangle of emotions.
“So you like me, then?”
“…Yes.”
“You want to go out with me?”
“Yes.”
Lisiluo bit down on her lower lip, hard enough that it looked like she might draw blood.
Her feelings for Yu Weian-senpai had always been something she’d kept carefully locked away in her heart. She had never told a soul.
With a Bloodkin mother, she had inherited silver-gray hair and crimson eyes. Introverted by nature, she had always felt out of place in a human-dominated academy.
Only Yu Weian-senpai had never minded. She helped Lisiluo with all sorts of problems and even tutored her with genuine enthusiasm.
Lisiluo couldn’t let this confession get out.
If her classmates found out she liked Yu Weian-senpai… she didn’t even want to imagine the fallout.
What terrified her most was how Yu Weian-senpai herself would react.
Would she be disgusted? Would she think Lisiluo was some kind of pervert? Would she refuse to speak to her ever again?
The thought made it feel like an invisible hand had seized her heart and squeezed. It hurt so much she could hardly breathe.
So she lied.
No matter what, she had to get past this little devil Mu Wan first.
She could explain everything to Yu Weian-senpai later. Yes. That was the plan.
“Well, that simplifies things.”
Mu Wan dropped the act of sorrow in an instant and turned back, taking hold of Lisiluo’s hand.
The sudden intimate contact made Lisiluo flinch.
Because of her bloodline, Lisiluo’s body temperature ran lower than that of ordinary humans.
Mu Wan’s small hand, by contrast, felt warm to the touch.
The sensation was so unfamiliar that Lisiluo unconsciously let go of the sleeve she had been gripping. Before she could pull away, Mu Wan caught her hand again.
Mu Wan leaned in closer.
They were near enough now that Lisiluo could hear the other girl’s heartbeat.
“Since you like me so much, from this moment on, we’re officially dating.”
“Eh?”
Staring at Mu Wan’s triumphant grin, it took Lisiluo several long seconds to register what she had just heard.
Mu Wan… had accepted?
She had to be joking. There was no way—
“D-Dating? Eh? Eh? Senpai, you’re joking, right? You have to be!”
“Why would you think that? I’m being completely serious.”
Mu Wan used the envelope to hide the smirk tugging at her lips. She narrowed her eyes and continued in a sweet voice:
“This is the first time anyone’s ever confessed to me, you know. I quite like that courage of yours.”
“So I’ve decided to accept~”
“B-But…”
“No buts. You’re not going to tell me you were lying when you said you liked me, are you?”
This time, Mu Wan gave her no room to hesitate. She simply took Lisiluo by the arm and began pulling her toward the door.
“Since we’re lovers now, we obviously have to go on a date. Come on, Lisiluo junior. Let’s go right now.”
“Wait, Mu Wan-senpai, this isn’t a good time—”
“I can’t hear you~ Let’s go!”
Lisiluo suddenly remembered something and tried to pull free in a panic, but Mu Wan held on tightly and refused to give her any chance to escape.
Because of Mu Wan’s meddling, the time they had originally agreed upon had long since passed.
If she stalled any longer, that person might actually show up—
Just as Lisiluo had feared, a familiar figure appeared in the corridor outside.
“Lisiluo junior, are you here? I came about the tutoring session…”
The classroom door opened, and a girl with an aura completely unlike Mu Wan’s stepped inside. The scene that greeted her made her pause mid-sentence.
Yu Weian wore the same deep blue uniform. Her long pink hair cascaded neatly down her back, loosely gathered at the ends with a white silk ribbon.
Her gaze first settled on Mu Wan, then shifted to Lisiluo…
…and finally landed on their intertwined hands.
