Self-righteous fool…
Tsukimi Ryuune looked down at the unconscious man on the floor. After a moment’s thought, she ultimately decided not to erase him.
It wasn’t out of kindness. She had already indulged in this kind of arbitrary killing far too many times. In the period right after she became the god of this world, she had made countless annoying people disappear without a second thought.
“Only fools think becoming a god requires shouldering any responsibility. Little do they know, the only reason you still exist is because I allow it.”
She glanced coldly at the unconscious Kagami Yuto. The next second, she stepped through space and returned directly to her classroom.
No one noticed anything unusual. Everyone acted as if they had been subtly influenced, completely ignoring her sudden appearance.
“Mm, let’s continue with this problem.”
—
When Kagami Yuto opened his eyes again, he found himself lying in the school infirmary.
His last memory was from right before he blacked out. He had been counseling a cold, haughty-looking girl… Tsukimi Ryuune, if he remembered correctly.
“Hm? Teacher Yuto, you’re finally awake.”
“You were found passed out in the counseling room. A colleague who happened to walk by brought you here. How are you feeling? Any discomfort?”
A young school doctor in a white coat walked over and explained the situation.
“Ah, yes… I actually fainted, huh.”
“Could it be low blood sugar? If it’s something else, I’d suggest taking a day off to get checked. I heard this is only your first day. No need to push yourself so hard.”
“Thank you for your concern. I’ll be more careful.”
After thanking her, he let out a sigh. What bothered him most was how strangely he had suddenly collapsed.
He had no history of low blood sugar, and at the time it had felt like someone had smashed a hammer straight into his brain. The memory of that deep, bone-piercing pain still made him uneasy.
At the same time, the incident had only made him far more concerned about the student named Tsukimi Ryuune.
His first day as a teacher had ended in such a disappointing way. He hadn’t been able to help someone who needed it, and he had even embarrassed himself in front of his colleagues because of his own body.
I can’t give up halfway. Kagami Yuto, the person you want to save is a child full of potential.
Tsukimi Ryuune…
At the same time, Tsukimi Ryuune, who was outside the school grounds, seemed to sense something.
“Strange…”
“This feeling… Has something broken in?”
She stood alone on the rooftop of a seventy-story skyscraper. Her golden eyes swept over the city below like a hawk’s.
As the god of this world, her spirit was connected to everything. Because of that, her perception of anomalies was extremely sharp.
Right now, she could feel a “rat” that didn’t belong to this world secretly slipping in through some channel. It was currently moving through the dark corners of the city beneath her feet.
Interesting~
After roughly locking onto its location, she stepped into the void. In an instant, she crossed more than ten kilometers and arrived deep inside a narrow, dimly lit alley.
What greeted her eyes was an unpleasant mix of darkness and dampness. A sharp, bloody stench was slowly spreading through the air.
Clearly, this was no coincidence.
“Arrived in a strange new world and already this impatient?”
She walked calmly toward the figure shrouded in darkness ahead, like a hunter who had just spotted promising prey.
As she drew closer, the figure seemed to notice her presence. The creature that had been crouched in a pool of blood slowly stood up. A pair of narrow, non-human red eyes glowed in the darkness with a dangerous, hungry light.
“Ke ke ke… Another one coming to die.”
“And a fresh, juicy woman at that. I bet you’ll taste a hundred times better than the last guy.”
The shadow spoke in a eerie, unnatural human language. It reacted quickly, extending segmented tentacles toward her in an attack.
Tsukimi Ryuune simply stood there quietly. There was no fear in her eyes—only pure curiosity toward the unknown creature in front of her.
Even though corpses lay at its feet and its entire body radiated strangeness and danger.
“Oh? You want to kill me.”
The creature didn’t understand her words. It simply assumed the sweet-looking high school girl in front of it had been scared out of her wits.
But the moment its tentacles were about to touch her, an invisible protective force suddenly expanded and blocked the attack completely.
“What?! How—?! Guh—?!”
Before the monster could react, an even stronger invisible force slammed into it, sending its two-meter-tall body crashing straight into the wall behind it.
“What?!”
“Overestimating yourself.”
Her eyes were filled with mockery. This outcome was not the least bit surprising to her.
As the god who ruled over everything, even an ancient Void God couldn’t harm her inside her own world.
Tsukimi Ryuune brushed off her shoulder and walked forward at a leisurely pace toward the monster now embedded in the wall.
“Tell me how you got here. If you do, I might leave you with an intact corpse.”
The creature didn’t speak, but it was clearly shocked.
Now that she was closer, Tsukimi Ryuune could finally see its face clearly.
It was wearing a helmet—or perhaps a mask—that combined sci-fi and biological elements. One look at it made the word “alien” pop into her mind.
“So. How did you find me?”
The creature still didn’t struggle. Since she had already determined its location, running anywhere would be pointless.
“Hm? Have you still not figured out the situation?”
An overwhelming gravity suddenly pressed down from the void, pinning the monster flat against the ground and smashing a large crater into the alley floor. The creature let out a miserable scream.
“Do you even know who you’re facing? Trash like you has no right to question me.”
“Then… why don’t you just kill me?”
Enduring the pain of its body being slowly crushed, the creature raised its eyes to meet her golden pupils.
They were cold and merciless, yet held no trace of killing intent.
“If I’m not mistaken, you’re this world’s regulator, aren’t you?”
“I can answer your questions. But only if you let me live!”
Its voice was filled with desperate pleading. As a being from outside this world that could appear here while ignoring her authority, it was already something that greatly interested her.
“It depends on your performance.”
