“Eileen… Eileen… time to get up. The sun’s already on your butt…”
In a daze, Eileen seemed to hear someone calling her name.
She turned over her exhausted body, rubbed her eyes, and slowly opened them.
Sunlight from the window flooded her vision, turning everything white for a moment.
After a brief adjustment, a figure gradually emerged from that whiteness and quickly became clear.
It was Kate.
She was lying on her side, propped up on one hand, smiling at her. The affection and tenderness in her eyes were like thick honey—sweet to the point of being cloying.
“Good morning, Kate…”
Eileen greeted her, but her eyelids were still fighting to stay open. Her body’s exhaustion seemed to be urging her to keep resting.
But the moment she was about to close her eyes again, she saw something shocking.
Kate…
Was she not wearing any clothes?
Wait—she really wasn’t wearing anything!
In an instant, all of Eileen’s sleepiness vanished. She shot up from the bed like a spring.
The blanket slid off her body. A fresh breeze blew in from the window.
It felt a little cool.
“…”
Cool?
Eileen looked down.
Why wasn’t she wearing any clothes either?!
“Kate, I… you…”
Eileen stammered. Kate simply let out a light laugh.
“Eileen, have you already forgotten what happened last night?”
Hearing that, Eileen suddenly remembered the passionate night they had shared.
She really did… with Kate…
“Looks like you remembered.”
Kate sat up. Beneath her sweet face, her body was covered in various scars.
These were marks left behind from countless battles—the glory of a warrior.
But Kate didn’t seem to like this “glory” very much.
Noticing Eileen’s gaze, she blushed slightly and tried to cover herself with her hands. “They’re ugly, aren’t they? It was dark last night so you couldn’t see. Eileen… you don’t hate me for them, do you?”
Eileen quickly shook her head.
“No no no, how could I possibly hate you? Do these scars hurt?”
“They don’t hurt. These are all from a long time ago.”
As Kate spoke, she started getting dressed. She pointed to the scar that ran from her upper abdomen all the way down to her lower abdomen. “Do you remember this one? Back then we took down that Chimera together. This is the scar left behind after you used healing magic on me. I even said I was going to settle the score with you, but the very next day you vanished from the face of the earth.”
Ah, this…
Eileen awkwardly scratched her cheek.
Why did she have to bring that up?
But Kate didn’t seem to notice Eileen’s embarrassment and continued, “Ever since then, countless people have said that I single-handedly killed that Chimera and even gave me an S-rank adventurer badge. But I kept telling them it wasn’t my achievement alone. Not a single person believed me—after all, the person who fought the Chimera with me was nowhere to be found no matter how hard they looked.”
“I-I’m sorry…”
Eileen lowered her head and apologized.
Back then, sitting in front of the screen, she hadn’t felt anything. But now that she was actually living in this game world, she could imagine just how heartbroken Kate must have been after she left without saying goodbye.
“It’s fine.”
Kate finished dressing and sat on the edge of the bed, gently taking her hand. “From now on, we’ll always be together—until death separates us.”
As her words fell, a soft, warm touch landed on Eileen’s lips.
In that instant, everything was filled with Kate’s scent.
“The inn provides breakfast. Once you’ve rested, go downstairs and eat while you wait for me. My spear got a lot of Minotauros blood on it yesterday. A-rank beast blood is highly corrosive, so I’m going to find a decent blacksmith nearby to polish it first.”
After Kate left, Eileen quickly got up as well.
Although she still felt very tired, the moment she thought about what had happened last night, all her sleepiness disappeared.
She vaguely remembered reading in the game’s class description that the warrior class had abundant stamina. After intense battles, they needed more extreme methods to vent their energy.
The most direct manifestation of this was a particularly strong desire in that area.
Eileen had originally thought this was just the game author’s weird taste, but from the way Kate had acted last night, it seemed to perfectly match the description…
Eileen dragged her exhausted body downstairs, planning to eat something to replenish her strength. When she glanced at Atia’s room, however, the door was still tightly shut.
Has she not woken up yet?
Eileen decided to go wake her.
The Adventurer’s Guild wasn’t far from this inn. After breakfast, she planned to stop by and ask Atia about her future plans.
Knock knock knock…
“Atia, it’s me. Are you awake?”
Eileen knocked on Atia’s door.
Soon, the door opened.
Eileen was about to invite Atia to breakfast together when she suddenly noticed the girl had two heavy dark circles under her eyes.
“Atia, did you not sleep well last night?”
Atia nodded, her eyes full of resentment.
“Last night some inconsiderate person was being so loud it didn’t stop until morning. I couldn’t sleep at all…”
Hearing this, Eileen’s body trembled.
She wasn’t talking about her, was she?
Kate had only let her go when the sky was starting to brighten…
“Yeah yeah yeah, so inconsiderate.”
Eileen quickly agreed, afraid that Atia would notice something.
However, the moment she finished speaking, Atia stared straight at her with furrowed brows.
It’s over. Did she figure something out?
In the game, once affection reached ninety, you could become lovers. But even without establishing a romantic relationship, there was no problem continuing as close friends.
But right now, she wasn’t playing a game.
There was no doubt that Atia’s feelings for her had already gone beyond friendship—perhaps even beyond that of lovers. If she found out about her relationship with Kate, wouldn’t everything explode?
“W-what’s wrong?”
Atia stayed silent for so long that Eileen started to panic.
“It’s nothing.”
Atia shook her head. “I just think those two people are really annoying. You didn’t sleep well last night either, right? You look exhausted.”
“Ah, right right right.”
Eileen nodded repeatedly.
That scared me. I thought she had noticed something.
“Atia, forget about that for now. The inn has free breakfast. Want to go eat together?”
“Free?”
The moment she heard the word “free,” Atia’s eyes lit up, as if even her dark circles had disappeared.
Eileen nodded. “Inns of this level usually provide breakfast, and the quality should be pretty good.”
“Then what are we waiting for? Wait for me, Eileen! I’ll change clothes and come right away!”
Atia darted back into her room. Her energy made it impossible to tell she hadn’t slept all night.
There was no helping it. For bottom-tier adventurers like them, free high-quality food was incredibly attractive.
Usually, even getting a bowl of meat soup counted as a luxury—let alone getting it for free.
If the rooms weren’t so expensive, they could probably eat the inn out of business.
