The torrent of memory washed through Noah’s eyes—not much, but enough to be real.
Through these dusty memories, Noah finally learned her true identity.
‘I’m just a clone, just a spare body for a mad scientist.’
‘But Naya… he lied to me! He lied to me from beginning to end!’
‘He’s not my husband at all, and I’m not Geheluosi… I’m just a clone, codename… A0413!’
‘But… my name… why do I know my name…’
When Noah first woke up, she knew her name was Noah.
But neither Naya nor the Director had ever called her by that name.
If they didn’t know who Noah was… then where did that name come from…?
Suddenly, the images before Noah’s eyes began to blur.
The once-clear memories shattered into a thousand pieces, gradually dissipating into the sea of consciousness.
Chaotic whispers echoed in Noah’s ears, and she softly said,
[Script Says: Geheluosi recalled some unpleasant memories.]
[Script Says: But those memories were false. There never was any A0413.]
[Script Says: Geheluosi cast aside distractions and rediscovered his purpose.]
[Script Says: Your mission is to sleep, forever and ever…]
[Script Says: Geheluosi is too tired. He slowly closed his eyes…]
[Script Says: Sleep, Geheluosi—have a good dream.]
The devilish whispers kept echoing in Noah’s ears, her consciousness growing fainter.
She felt all meaning return to nothingness, and thought that sleeping forever like this might not be so bad.
‘Then… sleep…’ Noah thought.
‘Until the end of the world…’
“Noah——————!!!”
Like an alarm clock waking her up, a voice mixed with anger and concern rang out in Noah’s ears.
The abrupt sound jolted her awake.
She immediately opened her eyes and looked around the black-and-white space.
‘Who…?! Who called my name…?!’
Noah strained to listen.
The voice pierced through the black-and-white sea of consciousness and rang directly in her mind.
She looked up toward the direction it came from and suddenly realized who was calling her.
‘It’s Xin, the only person in the institute who still knows my name!’
“Xin!”
Noah immediately responded.
“It’s me! I’m here!”
There was no reply.
Panic set in.
She reached forward desperately, trying to grab something.
Countless black tentacles surged up again, wrapping around her, trying to drag her back into the endless abyss.
Noah looked desperately toward the direction of the voice and shouted with all her strength,
“No! No! Let me out! I have unfinished business!”
As if hearing her call, a dazzling light dispelled the chaotic aura.
A hand covered in star patterns grabbed Noah’s arm and pulled her up.
Black-and-white light flashed before Noah’s eyes.
When she opened them again, she was back beside the teleportation array.
‘I’m… back…?!’
Noah gasped and looked up at the Tarot cards floating in the air.
But before she could understand what had happened, Xin’s fist slammed into her face.
“You idiot! Wake————up!!!”
“Pwah—!”
Noah was sent flying by the punch and crashed heavily to the ground.
She scrambled to her feet, rubbing her face, and complained irritably,
“Ow, that was a nasty hit! Do you hate me that much?!”
Hearing Noah speak, Xin was stunned.
She looked up at Noah and shouted excitedly,
“Is it you?! You’re really back!”
Seeing Xin’s concerned gaze, Noah felt a long-lost warmth in her heart.
She was about to stand up when a sudden headache hit her.
Noah struggled to open her eyes, but only saw a gray blur.
Black tentacles mixed with strange liquid oozed from her ears, and the corners of her eyes were filled with the same black fluid.
“Ugh… cough…” Noah tried to speak, but found her throat filled with black liquid.
She looked at Xin through blurred vision and shouted with her last bit of strength,
“Kill… me! Quick! Kill me—!”
Xin had never seen such a bizarre sight.
She looked up in shock and heard Naya speak in a mocking tone,
“Too late… Even if you managed to escape, so what? The power of chaos has fully corrupted your body. You can’t escape now!”
Amid Naya’s mad laughter, Noah spat out a mouthful of black liquid.
She felt her body go out of control; her subconscious was about to use the Tarot cards to attack her friends again.
Noah bit her tongue hard, forcing herself to stay awake.
Black tears streamed down her cheeks as she shouted again,
“Kill me! Now!!!”
The black inverted triangle rune appeared again.
Noah swayed and stood up slowly.
She lost consciousness once more and became the Big Alarm Clock, Geheluosi.
“Naya! You damned beast!”
Xin raised her katana and charged toward Noah, cursing loudly.
“You insult even the word ‘beast’! You should be chopped into a thousand pieces and rot in hell!”
But Naya didn’t care at all.
He laughed as he watched Geheluosi continue attacking everyone with the Tarot cards.
Xin dodged the scorching rays while slashing through the chaotic mass of tentacles around her.
She gripped her katana with both hands and spun her body, carving a perfect circle.
A red flash of light passed, and the tentacles around Xin were cleanly sliced in two.
It was the Setting Sun Combat Art!
Xin used her strongest combat art to clear the obstacles.
She lunged forward but heard Ska’s voice behind her.
“Buddy! Get down!”
Hearing the command, Xin immediately rolled and crouched on the ground.
Ska behind her was ready.
He gripped his sniper rifle tightly, raised it, and aimed at Noah’s head.
Hot tears streamed down Ska’s cheeks.
His eyes had never been so determined.
He pulled the trigger firmly and shouted in a sorrowful voice,
“Friend! Safe journey!!!”
BANG——————!
After the gunshot, the world fell silent again.
