Come to think of it… what exactly did she see back in the underground cave where the Holy Sword was hidden? What was all that about Xixili?
Why did it show her those things?
Looking at it that way, becoming a deity might not be such a bad opportunity after all.
“Xixili, big sister…”
Wait, Dorothy had always called her that, hadn’t she?
No way.
Could Dorothy actually be Xixili?
But a human… transforming into the Demon Race?
And becoming the Demon King loli at that?
That transformation was way too drastic, way too much of a leap.
That shouldn’t be it.
Primrose shook her head.
Suddenly, a soft knock came at the door.
“Knock, knock, knock.”
From outside came Yuna’s calm, respectful voice.
“Goddess, the dinner banquet is ready. Lord Constantine has specially arranged the quietest private room, and everyone is waiting for you to take your seat.”
Primrose let out a sigh and sat up from the bed.
“Understood, I’ll be right there.”
She walked over to the mirror, adjusted the gorgeous Sage’s Divine Robe she was wearing, took a deep breath, and did her best to wipe that lazy expression off her face.
“Alright, time to get back to work.”
Primrose muttered quietly to her reflection in the mirror, then turned and pushed open the door.
The hallway was covered in thick carpet, so her footsteps made no sound at all.
Yuna stood perfectly straight outside the door in her black-and-white maid outfit.
Seeing Primrose emerge, she immediately gave a slight bow, executing an impeccable maid’s salute.
“Goddess, please follow me.”
Yuna led the way with steady, unhurried steps.
Primrose followed behind, watching Yuna’s straight posture, silently marveling to herself.
‘Yuna’s personality is just too meticulous. No matter the situation, she treats rules as more important than anything else.’
The two walked all the way to the end of the second-floor corridor, stopping before a large double-door private room.
Yuna stepped forward and pushed the doors open. A rich aroma of roasted meat and the mellow scent of ale rushed out to meet them, followed immediately by a lively buzz of conversation.
Primrose walked into the room, her gaze sweeping across her surroundings.
Though Constantine had been turned down on hosting a city-wide victory banquet, he had clearly spared no expense in arranging this private room.
At the center sat a massive, long rectangular rosewood dining table, draped in spotless white silk.
The table looked like a miniature food exhibition right now.
A whole suckling pig, crisp on the outside and tender inside, still sizzling with glistening fat. A hearty magical beast meat stew simmered soft and flavorful. Fresh fruits piled up like small mountains. And fragrant red wine and ale, an overwhelming array of delicacies.
Everyone in the room was already seated.
“Prim, come sit, we’ve all been waiting for you.”
Lin Naiyue was seated at the position to the right of the head seat.
Seeing her daughter walk in, she immediately waved happily.
Primrose nodded and walked over to take her seat at the head of the table.
Yuna immediately stepped forward to pour her a glass of red wine that carried a faint fruity aroma.
Primrose had just picked up her knife and fork, ready to cut into the roast meat in front of her.
Just then, a small figure suddenly darted out from the side, moving so fast that even Yuna didn’t react in time.
“Mommy!”
Accompanied by a crisp, sweet call, Primrose felt a weight settle onto her thigh, along with a warm sensation.
She looked down, and her entire body froze.
That golden-haired, golden-eyed girl who had materialized from the Holy Sword and Holy Armor in the underground fissure was now sitting comfortably astraddle on her lap.
On the girl’s flawless, delicate face, those golden eyes sparkled brilliantly like two of the purest gems.
She had changed clothes today.
A pure white strapless sundress, its hem just barely covering her thighs, draped with a sheer white gauze shawl over her shoulders. She looked innocent, yet carried a subtle, lingering allure.
The girl’s build was that of a young maiden just beginning to develop—a little taller than old mama Lin Naiyue, with an incredibly supple body.
And there she sat, straddling Primrose’s lap, her pale, slender legs swinging gently in the air, her toes occasionally brushing against the hem of Primrose’s robes.
Her positioning was remarkably precise—her head just barely reaching Primrose’s chin.
All Primrose had to do was lower her head, and she could clearly catch that faint, intoxicating fragrance from the girl’s hair, a mix of milky sweetness and floral notes.
Even without lowering her head, she caught wisps of it now and then.
“Hmm… Holy Sword granddaughter is so sly. Grandma wants to sit on Prim’s lap like that too.”
Seeing this, Lin Naiyue’s cheeks puffed up slightly like a chipmunk storing nuts. She was actually getting jealous of the Holy Sword.
But she quickly switched to another expression.
“Oh my, this child is so clingy. Prim, look how much she likes you—she can’t bear to be apart from you for even a moment.”
“Just now when you said you wanted to rest in your room, we could barely hold her back.”
Lin Naiyue propped her chin on both hands, her eyes filled with the doting affection of an old mother looking at her granddaughter.
Yet buried within that gaze seemed to be a hint of bewilderment.
Primrose’s body went stiffer than stone in that instant.
This is deadly!
A gorgeous, unreal beauty with a figure this good suddenly straddles your lap, and your old mom is fanning the flames on the side?
Who could handle this!
In her original world, she’d never even held a girl’s hand before.
Primrose let out a sigh.
“Everyone, let’s eat!”
That said, as the meal went on, the air in the private room gradually grew strangely quiet.
Except for Clotilde, who was noisily crunching through meat chops and bones without a care in the world, and Yuna, standing respectfully behind Primrose, ready at a moment’s notice.
Everyone else’s gazes were all locked onto Primrose and the Holy Sword girl like spotlight beams.
Cecilia, seated to Primrose’s left, could barely keep her expression from cracking.
She forced a very amicable smile onto her face.
“Holy Sword little sister.”
Cecilia spoke. She was smiling, but anyone could hear the grinding of teeth beneath it.
She stared at the Holy Sword girl, the corners of her mouth and brows twitching at a bizarre frequency, teetering on the edge of losing it at any moment.
“You still haven’t explained why you call Goddess ‘Mommy’?”
Those last two words were practically squeezed out from between Cecilia’s clenched teeth.
Back in the underground fissure, they’d had to rush back to the surface to deal with the Demon Army, so the question had been dropped.
Now, she simply couldn’t hold it in any longer.
Hearing Cecilia’s challenge, the Holy Sword girl turned her head. On that youthful, flawless face, there was not a trace of fear or guilt.
“Because she’s Mommy, so she’s Mommy~”
She blinked those big, watery golden eyes, her tone utterly confident and full of energy.
Having said that, she turned back to look at Primrose’s face, so close before her.
Then she leaned in, pursed her pink lips, and pressed them against Primrose’s…
