Angels and Halos
Angels are multidimensional life-forms.
The higher-dimensional portion exists as a spiritual state, while the portion that appears before lower-dimensional life is a material form (that is, they possess a physical body).
The physical body is part of the angel, and also the angel’s projection into the lower-dimensional world.
The two are linked through the [Halo].
Because of spiritual specialization, angels possess a dual nervous system.
The First Nervous System matches the characteristics of lower-dimensional life-forms and matches the typical neural features of vertebrates.
The Second Nervous System connects directly to the Halo and to [Eden].
To a certain degree angels possess both the nature of independent consciousness and the nature of hive consciousness.
Some angels are lower-dimensional lives that have ascended in dimension.
In the early period they may rely more on the functions of the First Nervous System and believe that the consciousness of the First Nervous System is their own consciousness.
In fact this is incomplete.
But as their connection with [Eden], especially with the [Central Bureau], grows increasingly close, they gradually awaken the functions of the Second Nervous System and awaken a second consciousness.
Archive Bureau
The place responsible for backing up angel consciousness data.
It possesses importance equal to the [Central Bureau], but its authority is lower than the [Central Bureau].
It is located on the second ring of Eden’s central layer and is composed of high-performance quantum cluster servers.
Capacity is unknown, but the number of servers far exceeds the number of angels by more than a thousandfold.
Perhaps some unknown things are stored there as well.
Central Bureau
The seat of an angel’s spirit-body, that is, of consciousness.
It is composed of a cluster of psionic servers and is located on the first ring of Eden’s core layer.
When an angel’s projection in the lower-dimensional world (the surface) is destroyed by force majeure, the Halo bears the angel’s spirit-body back to the Central Bureau.
Ordinarily, under the action of the Halo system, an angel projected onto the surface can still obtain the Central Bureau’s services.
Through the Central Bureau, angels can achieve direct exchange, communication, and conversation with one another.
Therefore the Central Bureau is also Eden’s core judicial organ.
In the Central Bureau, angels communicating by consciousness can achieve high-speed assemblies, high-speed resolutions, and similar effects, and can also obtain decision assistance from Eden’s AI located in the Central Bureau.
Construction Towers
A product of the Ringworld Ideal City.
They can alter matter’s composition, form, and state of properties at the quantum level, and require a certain energy supply as the energy source for [startup] construction.
On the premise of connection to Eden’s [World Server], they can create all things.
When running offline they can only construct according to quantum models stored internally.
In history a group of scientists once opposed the widespread use of Construction Towers.
Because of the Towers’ properties, some scientists feared they would accelerate the universe’s decrease in entropy.
But subsequent research related to magic allowed the world to obtain a complete theoretical system of psionics.
That system claimed that through the use of psionics the universe’s decrease in entropy could be suppressed, and in the end successfully promoted the use of Construction Towers and a series of construction devices, driving a new industrial revolution.
It was precisely because of the popularization of Construction Towers that that society obtained a qualitative leap and ultimately created the ring-shaped Ideal City.
Magecraft
That is, magic.
The core concept of the psionic system, which proclaims idealism and puts spiritual energy—that is, psionics—to practical use.
Before the Construction Tower incident, the psionic system was a fringe discipline in society, and its applications were very limited.
But after Construction Towers were successfully promoted and applied, as people’s pursuits shifted on a large scale from the material plane to the spiritual plane, psionics began to form a complete system, and magic began to be promoted and used on a wide scale in society.
Finally, at the peak of a society in which the use of psionics and material energy advanced side by side, people at last discovered Eden’s actual location and built, in six regions of the world, six Towers to Heaven leading to Eden.
From then on the distance between gods and humans was no longer far.
Unlike the convenience of Construction Towers, magecraft requires three major elements to be completed and to produce a substantive effect in the lower-dimensional world.
In fact this was also the reason magic was not valued by society at the beginning.
Array construction: Through highly symbolic special signs and shapes, spiritual power is guided.
This step may be carried out on the spiritual plane or on the material plane.
But if it is carried out on the spiritual plane, powerful spiritual strength is required to complete the construction.
Formula construction: Through chanting, silent recitation, imagination, and similar methods, the guided spiritual power is given form and produces magic’s initial effect.
Magecraft projection: The final stage of magic.
Strictly speaking this stage requires a spiritual carrier.
This carrier may be the caster themselves, or some object that has borne spiritual power (for example certain antiques).
Magic will ultimately project into the material world through this carrier and produce a series of effects.
Of course, just as the application of science includes chemistry, physics, and so on, the application of magic also includes disciplines such as alchemy, elements, and spirits.
It is nothing more than specialized optimization in direction of use and in the steps of completion, and will not be expanded upon here.
