Oren offered special jobs: Training Knight and Tamer. Not exclusive to Oren, but special jobs obtainable there too.
โBoth,โ Yang Joohyuk said.
โTraining Knights 500, Tamers 3,000,โ Jang Yul replied.
โThought thereโd be more?โ Yang Joohyuk said.
Since 0.7% got the title, he thought many would have special jobs. But the number was small.
โBecause the conditions are hard to meet,โ Jang Yul explained.
โRight.โ
Training Knight required completing all four training centers in Oren to unlock the quest. Tamer was stricterโsubdue a rabbit, feed it a 5-gold well-baked bread, and hunt another rabbit with it to trigger the quest.
โSo theyโre special jobs.โ
If followed diligently, they were hard to obtain.
โThen lastly,โ Yang Joohyuk said, not done yet.
More than top-level users, title earners, or special job holders, one thing was more curious.
โThe library.โ
โNone, obviously,โ Jang Yul replied.
โSince itโs the first day,โ Yang Joohyuk agreed.
โEven in a week, seems like there wonโt be any. Orenโs library.โ
No user had used Orenโs library. No, there wouldnโt be users using it, Jang Yul was certain.
โSince it needs 50 gold.โ
To use Orenโs library, 50 gold is needed. But 50 gold is a huge amount in Oren. Paying that to use the library? Doesnโt make sense. There wouldnโt be such a user.
โMaybe thereโs a chance, right? Could there be some hidden piece tucked away?โ Yang Joohyuk said.
โThere could be,โ Jang Yul replied, nodding.
There was no way, but as Yang Joohyuk said, maybe there could be a user who used it.
โBut even if there is, the piece in there canโt be called a hidden piece, right?โ Jang Yul continued.
Even if someone used it, it didnโt matter. The hidden piece in Orenโs library couldnโt be called a hidden piece. Thatโs because it was a hidden piece that could also be obtained in libraries other than Orenโs.
โThatโs true. At this point, itโd be better to level up or do quests,โ Yang Joohyuk said.
Even if itโs called a hidden piece, the efficiency was too poor. Itโd be better to level up in the time it takes to get that hidden piece.
โBut doesnโt it shine when you get to the later stages?โ Jang Yul asked.
Of course, thatโs for the early stages. In the later stages, itโs different. In the later stages, the difference between those who got the libraryโs hidden piece and those who didnโt would be enormous.
โItโs way too late to get it then,โ Yang Joohyuk replied.
The libraryโs hidden piece was harder to obtain the higher your level. Getting the hidden piece at a low level was best.
โHuh?โ Jang Yul suddenly exclaimed in a surprised voice.
โWhatโs wrong?โ Yang Joohyuk asked, tilting his head at Jang Yulโs startled tone.
โA user who obtained a rank 1 job has appeared!โ Jang Yul said.
โWhat?โ Yang Joohyuk couldnโt help but question.
Just as items were divided into six ranksโnormal, special, relic, heroic, legendary, divineโspecial jobs also had ranks. From rank 1 to rank 6. The Training Knight obtainable in Oren was a rank 6 job, and the Tamer was a rank 5 job.
Rank 6 jobs werenโt much different from regular jobs, but from rank 5, the difference was noticeable.
A rank 1 job? Of course, rank 1 jobs were great, but they were hard to develop. If a regular job required 1 experience to level up, a rank 1 job required 100. And it wasnโt just about experience. For special jobs, leveling up, skill progression, and sometimes completing quests were needed.
โWhich job is it?โ Yang Joohyuk asked, following his question.
He was curious which rank 1 job had appeared, as rank 1 jobs werenโt just one kind but quite diverse.
โItโs Lord of Destruction!โ Jang Yul answered with an excited expression.
Yang Joohyuk, waiting for the answer, let out a sigh of relief. โThank goodness.โ
Lord of Destruction, true to its rank 1 job status, was definitely great. But it was hard to develop, and Lord of Destruction required supporting users. If played solo, Lord of Destruction was worse than a regular job.
โBut how did they already meet those conditions?โ Yang Joohyuk asked, puzzled.
He couldnโt understand. To receive the Lord of Destruction job change quest, certain conditions had to be met. Those conditions couldnโt possibly be met on the first day.
โThe conditions changed,โ Jang Yul explained.
โWhat? The conditions changed?โ Yang Joohyuk asked.
โThe boss changed them directly,โ Jang Yul said.
โOh, damn,โ Yang Joohyuk let out a groan.
โThere must be a reason,โ he said, nodding.
After groaning, Yang Joohyuk continued, โAnyway, keep an eye on the situation. Report as soon as a message pops up, but for ranks 4 and above, donโt bother reporting ranks 5 or 6.โ
Beep beep!
When the alarm rang, Soohyuk opened his eyes instinctively. Getting up from bed, he stretched.
โItโs the new year,โ he said, looking at the clock.
It was finally a new year. Of course, the new year didnโt change Soohyukโs life. Since becoming a middle school student, Soohyuk had always welcomed the new year alone.
After a simple stretch to loosen up, Soohyuk sat at the bookshelf and started reading. Thirty minutes later, having finished the book slowly with breakfast, Soohyuk closed the book and went to the kitchen.
Opening the refrigerator, Soohyuk said, โGuess Iโll eat ramen.โ
But there was no appealing side dish, so Soohyuk took out a single egg, ending his fridge rummage. Then he took out ramen from the cupboard.
After cooking egg ramen, Soohyuk brought it to the computer. There would be users who played all night. Expecting to see what posts came up overnight and what happened, Soohyuk went to the official website, clicked on the best posts board where popular posts were gathered.
The first popular post that caught his eye was about special jobs. If the entire content of the post was 10, information about special jobs was 1, and bragging was 9. The comments had countless users asking how to get special jobs.
โIf itโs a mage, I donโt need to look,โ Soohyuk said, hitting back.
Anyway, Soohyuk planned to change to a mage. He didnโt need information about special jobs, nor was he curious.
โTitle?โ he muttered.
The second popular post Soohyuk checked was about titles.
Title: Iโll tell you about the awesome title you can get in Oren
Character Name: Breaker
You can get the Practitioner of Oren title by catching 100 rabbits.
It increases strength, agility, stamina, wisdom by 3 each. Get this awesome title!
For reference, itโs useless if you go down and catch 100 rabbits. It only works with Oren rabbits!
โOh!โ Soohyuk let out, checking the post.
Can I get it by catching a few more?
Currently, Soohyuk had caught 70 rabbits after completing the quest. Including the 5 for the quest, heโd caught 75 rabbits total. If the post was true, catching just 25 more would get him the title.
To check if the post was true, Soohyuk looked at the comments. If it was false, the reaction wouldnโt be good.
โHuh?โ Soohyuk frowned, checking the comments.
The reaction wasnโt goodโnegative. The issue wasnโt that it was false, though.
Rudika: In the time it takes to catch 100 rabbits, Iโd go down and level up.
Ka: I sent my friend first because of this post, but my level 9, friend level 15, damn it.
Ishid: This post is true. But itโs better not to do it. The efficiency is trash.
Mokdoridoma: Got the title. Will the day come when +3/+3/+3/+3 shines?
The title itself was real. But most comments were negative. If the total comments were 10, positive ones were 1, negative ones 9โa 1:9 ratio.
โWell, it doesnโt matter,โ Soohyuk said, hitting back.
Efficiency wasnโt important to Soohyuk. He had to catch rabbits anyway.
โNothing special,โ he said.
After checking other popular posts, there wasnโt much interesting information. Having finished his ramen, Soohyuk got up, prepared for login by washing dishes, and connected to Pangea.
โHuh?โ Soohyuk tilted his head, checking his surroundings upon logging in.
Whereโd everyone go?
There wasnโt a single user in sight. Before logging out, there were at least a few users diligently hunting rabbits. Where had they all gone?
Puzzled but smiling, Soohyuk didnโt know what happened, but it wasnโt bad from his perspective. He could hunt rabbits without interruption.
Soohyuk first opened his character window.
Level: 6
Experience: 1%
Health: 1960
Mana: 200
Satiety: 85%
Strength: 10
Agility: 12
Stamina: 35
Wisdom: 10
Bonus Stats: 10
From now on, save bonus stats.
To change to a mage, level 10 and 30 wisdom were needed. To reach level 10 and 30 wisdom, Soohyuk had to save all bonus stats from now on. Even considering the title, thereโd only be a surplus of 3.
No problem with satiety.
Satiety was 85%, no issue. Soohyuk closed the character window, opened his inventory, took out the sword received from the instructor, and started swinging at rabbits.
