“You’re really going to use such good materials to make a mask for me, Master?”
Bai Xue looked both surprised and touched.
“This material is good?” Ye Lian tilted her head slightly.
She had crafted Bai Xue’s maid outfit using materials from an elite-level creature—the Blackwater King Serpent, a Grade 8 mini-boss.
The Ant Queen might appear to be on the same level as the Blackwater Serpent on paper, but in truth, her actual strength was far inferior.
To put it bluntly, she wasn’t even as strong as a minor boss.
The only part worth keeping was this single piece of Queen’s Bone—it was extremely durable and perfect for crafting headgear.
Bai Xue froze for a moment, then suddenly remembered the maid outfit she was wearing.
Her heart filled with awe.
‘The monster Master defeated… really wasn’t ordinary after all!’
“I’m going to start. Keep an eye on our surroundings,” Ye Lian instructed.
“Yes!” Bai Xue drew her sword and stood by her side, eyes scanning the area alertly for any threats.
Ye Lian began extracting the bone essence with practiced ease.
After making some necessary adjustments, she officially started refining the mask.
Thanks to her improved proficiency, the process was smooth and effortless.
In less than five minutes, she had completed a white mask.
It was custom-made for Bai Xue, and the fit was perfect.
At first glance, the mask didn’t seem all that special.
If anything stood out, it was the elegance of its lines.
After a moment’s thought, Ye Lian retrieved a pitch-black scale from her inventory and began carefully purifying it, removing all impurities, extracting and compressing the essence.
In the end, only two petal-sized pieces remained.
“Just need to shave these into two thin pieces. The hardness and transparency should be sufficient.”
With that, she used her gunblade to shape the essence into thin lenses.
It was a simple process—but one that demanded great precision.
If the pieces were too thin, they wouldn’t offer enough protection.
Too thick, and they’d lack the needed transparency.
To Bai Xue, it looked like Ye Lian was carving out something thinner than a cicada’s wing—two nearly invisible slivers of material.
Ye Lian placed the transparent pieces over the mask’s eye slots.
And with that, the white mask was complete.
Simple—but far from ordinary.
***
[Ding!]
Just as Ye Lian was about to give the mask a name, the system’s voice suddenly echoed in her mind.
[You have unlocked the second skill of God-tier Alchemy: Multi-Enchant.]
Ye Lian’s eyes widened with excitement, her heart pounding.
‘Finally!’
She hadn’t expected the second skill to unlock so quickly.
She had thought it would take at least reaching level twenty, or fulfilling some special condition.
“Happiness came so fast—it feels like winning the lottery.”
She smiled sweetly.
“Master, what lottery did you win?” Bai Xue asked curiously.
‘Could this game possibly have a raffle system?’
“No, nothing like that. I just ran into something good.”
Ye Lian shook her head.
“Keep watching the surroundings. I still have a few loose ends to deal with.”
Now that she had unlocked the Enchantment skill, this mask was far from finished.
She opened the skill panel and carefully reviewed the description for Multi-Enchant.
‘So that’s how it works. Just like the name says—it allows multiple enchantments on a single piece of equipment. The number of enchantments depends on the materials used. In other words, the higher the grade of the materials used to craft the item, the more enchantments it can support.’
‘The effectiveness of the enchantments depends on the user’s abilities. Also, enchanting consumes a portion of the material. The higher the tier of the enchantment, the higher the material cost. Makes sense.’
She closed the skill panel, her thoughts turning as she reached out to touch the [Mask].
An enchantment prompt appeared immediately.
This white mask, forged from the Queen’s Bone and Blackscale Essence, could be enchanted twice assuming they were both low-tier enchantments.
“Enchantments at this level… materials from the Blackwater Serpent King should be enough.”
Ye Lian took out a small piece of scales and began enchanting the white mask.
Currently, the elemental powers she had initial control over were: wind, water, and space.
‘The mask only covers a small area. But if I add wind and spatial powers, I could protect the entire head.’
After a moment of contemplation, she chose those two enchantments.
Then she got to work immediately.
***
Bai Xue peeked over and noticed that Ye Lian’s body was now radiating such intense energy, it was almost turning into visible mist.
The next moment, she watched as Ye Lian poured a steady stream of power into the white mask.
Golden runes began to form on its surface, transforming it from something ordinary into something elegant and luxurious.
Unforgettable at a glance.
