Chapter 24 : Sonia – It’s About to Leak QAQ

Upon hearing Sonia’s reasoning, Yide couldn’t help but be stunned.

He had considered many possibilities, such as Sonia wanting to sell the enhanced Mana Wyrm or exchanging the card with other students once she re-enrolled.

But he never expected that Sonia’s so-called whim was this.

Seeing Yide suddenly fall silent, Sonia thought he was unhappy and said in a flustered tone: “Um, Mr. Yide, if it really doesn’t fit your plan, just pretend I didn’t say anything.”

“I just feel that Tivia not only gave me a tradable card but also put so much effort into helping me re-enroll. She probably doesn’t even have much time to practice dueling, so I just wanted to make it up to her.”

“But all I can do is help her enhance the Mana Wyrm…”

Sonia’s voice grew softer and softer.

Just as she thought Yide’s silence meant refusal, de let out a light chuckle.

“Do as you say.”

“She helped us so much; it wouldn’t be right not to repay her properly.”

Sonia was momentarily startled, then nodded happily: “Okay!”

“Then, I choose!”

The girl stretched out her finger and tapped the card face of Mana Wyrm.

Ding-ding-ding!

A sound like a hammer striking metal rang out.

The next moment, the other two cards disappeared, leaving only the brand-new Mana Wyrm displayed before Sonia.

Mana Wyrm ★ (One Star) C-rank

Fire

Elemental 1/3

Whenever you cast a spell, Mana Wyrm gains +1/+0.

“Is this promotion enhancement?”

Sonia curiously examined the card that had been enhanced after a series of clanking sounds.

Yide was also examining the new card face and quickly noticed the changes.

“It directly dropped to one star.”

Looking at the star rating column, where the stars were originally in pairs, now only a solitary one remained, e nodded.

Although promotion enhancement was random each time, the enhancement patterns were actually traceable.

If the effect was directly altered, changing +1/+0 to +2/+0 or +1/+1 would be too strong.

So, it was either adding attributes while the star rating remained unchanged or directly dropping to one star.

Evidently, the dueling rules chose the latter enhancement method.

“That’s good. This way, you’ll have new options for your first turn’s actions.”

“Now, let’s go.”

Looking at the girl who had already put away her deck, de looked below the stage.

“Tivia is still waiting for us down there.”

“Okay!”

Sonia happily responded in her heart, also turning her head.

Then, she saw—

“Sonia Seth, did you create this new term, ‘Flash’?”

“Sonia, can you share your method for making such rapid progress in dueling in just one month?”

“Sonia Seth, I challenge you!”

Hustle and bustle, our dueling arena.jpg

Whoa, whoa, whoa, why are there so many people…?

Looking at the crowd filling the area below the stage, Sonia felt her head starting to spin.

The girl had never seen a scene like this before.

Even during the practical assessment for the entire grade, she hadn’t seen so many people.

More importantly, it seemed her turning motion had attracted attention.

Even the spectators standing at the back who hadn’t spoken raised their heads, uniformly turning their gaze towards her.

Feeling countless eyes fixed on her, Sonia had only one thought at this moment.

“Mr. Yide, um, can you possess me?”

“I’m going to lose my balance…”

de panicked: “Hey, don’t faint at this point!”

—Soul Possession!

Seeing the girl about to faint at the last moment, Yide quickly took over control of her body.

Then, he felt a clear sense of weightlessness on the dueling stage.

Oh no!

At the critical moment, de took a step forward, ultimately managing to support Sonia’s body, preventing her from falling onto her backside.

However, physiological trembling couldn’t be resolved by possessing a body.

Feeling her continuously weakening legs, Yide felt a bit helpless.

“You weren’t even this scared during a duel.”

Sonia: “QAQ Mr. Yide, I didn’t want to be like this.”

Seeing the innocent look on the girl’s face in her soul state, de said nothing more.

Eventually, he managed to control the girl’s body and walk off the dueling stage.

But reaching this point was his maximum effort.

Because after stepping off the dueling stage, Yide felt another sensation in addition to his weak legs.

This time, even he couldn’t help but change his expression.

“Hey, you’re not going to… that, are you?”

The girl’s mortified voice rang out: “Ugh, please don’t say it, Mr. Yide!”

“Is this something you can ignore if you don’t say it?!”

Yide couldn’t help but roar in his mind.

She could still hold on if her legs were weak, but there was genuinely nothing he could do about this!

The structure is different!

“Tsk, never mind, you’ll have to deal with the aftermath yourself!”

“Wait, Mr. Yide!”

Sonia tried to speak again, but de didn’t wait.

Seeing Tivia already walking towards them, he immediately released the soul possession, letting Sonia’s body practically fall into the other girl’s arms.

Tivia was startled: “Xiaoya, what’s wrong with you?”

Sonia looked up: “Tivia, help… help me to the restroom…”

I’m going to leak QAQ.

“I almost died of embarrassment on the dueling stage…”

Sonia held Tivia’s arm as they walked down the corridor.

Her legs were still trembling slightly, and her face looked like she had just survived a major ordeal.

“It’s a good thing Mr. Yide was there.”

The girl thought to herself.

But de, who was being thanked, spoke up faintly: “Next time this happens, I won’t help you…”

It was a good thing he released the soul possession quickly enough.

Otherwise, his reputation would have been ruined by this girl.

“Ah, wuwu, no, Mr. de…”

Hearing Yide’s refusal, Sonia’s eyes welled up with tears again, startling Tivia beside her.

“Xiaoya, why are you crying again? Wait, don’t wipe your tears on my clothes…”

After some playful bickering along the way, the two girls finally returned to the principal’s office door.

Watching Sonia walk up to knock, Tivia felt like she could finally relax.

After so much had happened, she could finally be classmates with Xiaoya again.

“I can go to school with Tivia again.”

Sonia was equally happy.

But before she could even reach out her hand, a near-shout came from inside.

“What did you say?!”

“You should be pretty clear about what I said; I won’t say it a second time!”

The two girls exchanged bewildered glances.

“Grandpa Principal seems to be arguing with someone?”

Sonia was a bit confused.

If she remembered correctly, Grandpa Principal had also watched her duel and should have only just returned.

Just came back, and someone was already arguing with him?

Tivia also shook her head: “I don’t know, who would be arguing with him at this hour?”

Seeing her best friend had no clue, Sonia subconsciously turned her attention to the mental space within the pendant.

But she saw that Yide’s expression had already darkened.

“What’s wrong, Mr. Yide?”

de shook his head: “Not sure yet.”

“However, the visitor means no good.”

After this duel, everyone in the academy probably knew that Sonia was going to re-enroll.

Anyone with eyes could see that after Sonia’s duel with Edward, her next step would be to apply to the principal for re-enrollment.

Yet, the person inside still chose this moment to confront the principal.

This could only mean that some people were getting anxious.

Soon, the principal’s office door reopened, and a man in a black uniform walked out.

He looked down at the two girls, said nothing, and turned to leave.

The next moment, the principal’s somewhat weary voice echoed in the office.

“Is that student Tivia and student Sonia? Come in.”

Hearing the principal’s words, the two girls exchanged glances, then entered the room.

The principal was sitting behind his desk, looking much the same as when they had last met.

Only his perfectly groomed handlebar mustache was a bit disheveled, as if it had been pulled hard.

Tivia looked at the principal, about to speak.

But the principal’s tired voice spoke first.

“I’m sorry, student Sonia.”

“Regarding your re-enrollment, I’m afraid I cannot fulfill my promise.”

“As expected.”

Hearing this, Yide sighed inwardly.
