“Clean up and head out now. I want to get some proper rest today.”
“That is a great idea! It is good to focus on your studies, but you need to rest once in a while!”
We shared that conversation. However, just as Yon finished clearing the table and was about to leave the room with the cart full of empty dishes, the old butler arrived and delivered the following message.
“There will be a family dinner in the Dining Hall this evening.”
Just as Ragfrid tried to use the travel time to observe Yor and me, it seems Hard intends to use the mealtime for the same purpose. They really are father and daughter; they resemble each other in many ways.
‘More importantly, if it is a family dinner, will the second child of the Austri Family, Valtraus, be attending as well?’
Interest.
I wonder if it is truly alright for a family that didn’t even gather when their youngest took poison in a suicide attempt to suddenly congregate just to see a newly born Familiar. It was honestly absurd, but I simply replied that I understood and sent the butler and the servant out of the room.
Then, I grabbed Yor and dove onto the bed.
“Now that we won’t be disturbed until dinner, shall we take our time reading the Status Window?”
“Meow meow, meooow~♬”
Whether Yor had been looking forward to this moment as well, he meowed excitedly and flicked his long tail back and forth.
“Alright, then let’s start by looking at our cute baby Dragon’s Status Window!”
“Myaong myaong, mya!”
At my words, Yor nodded readily. Having obtained the subject’s permission, I immediately pulled up Yor’s Status Window.
==========
[Name] Jormungand
[Trait] Sky
[Disposition] Absolute
[Strength] 30
[Stamina] 30
[Agility] 40
[Willpower] 251
[Aether] 627
[Defense] 40
[Elemental Resistance] 260
==========
I rubbed my eyes. It wasn’t because of the word ‘Absolute’ sitting boldly in the Disposition column. Of course, that was quite startling, but the reason I couldn’t believe my eyes was something else.
“The Willpower, Aether, and Elemental Resistance values are way too high…?! Especially the Aether….”
“Nyong.”
“Ah, yes. Right… Yor, you are a Dragon. Then it’s only natural for those specific stats to be overwhelmingly high.”
“Meow~!”
“By the way, Yor…? Did you just say ‘Dragon’?”
“Fot?”
It didn’t seem like I was mistaken, but since Yor was tilting his head and feigning innocence, I decided to let it slide.
“…I’ll read what’s written on your Status Window for you.”
After reciting the contents only visible to my eyes to Yor, I opened my own Status Window instead of opening Yor’s Skill Window. That way, the readers would be able to get a sense of just how high Yor’s stats really were.
==========
[Strength] 43
[Stamina] 52
[Agility] 59
[Willpower] 62
[Aether (Sky)] 47
[Aether (Enhancement)] 93
[Defense] 31
[Elemental Resistance] 36
==========
As you can see, none of my stats exceed 100. The Purple Aether labeled as ‘Enhancement’ is at 93, nearly approaching 100, but even this can be considered quite high considering the age of the Possession Body.
‘According to the settings of the Original Work, the default innate Aether value is usually around 20!’
Since this body belongs to the direct lineage of a Dukedom, it likely possessed a higher innate value due to the influence of bloodline. However, if Karbaldr hadn’t trained his Aether diligently since childhood, it probably would have been around 70 at most.
‘Did he believe that if the amount of Aether increased and he became proficient in handling it, he would eventually overcome his flaws and awaken his poison abilities?’
Regardless, Yor’s Aether amount is by no means at a normal level. Even Reysir from the Original Work, who constantly faced limits while receiving the Protagonist Buff, only barely managed to exceed an Aether stat of 500 in the latest chapters.
For reference, the default average value for Agility, Willpower, Defense, and Elemental Resistance stats is 35. Yet, Yor’s Willpower and Elemental Resistance stats reach triple digits, and the first digit is a ‘2’. Even considering that Yor is a Familiar and not a human, this is beyond surprising. It was even more so when considering the fact that he isn’t even six months old yet.
I believe this is enough of an explanation for how incredible Yor’s abilities are. So, let us examine the information written above the stats.
==========
[Name] Imir (Karbaldr Austri)
[Trait] Sky / Enhancement
[Disposition] Writer / Possessiveness
==========
“My real name is written in the Name column. And it’s in the front, too.”
“L8, 4!”
At my words, Yor poked his index finger into the air, miming a stabbing motion. It seems he wanted to say he was glad he poked Reysir in the eye. I thought so too, so I nodded lightly and added my opinion regarding the contents of the Name column.
“Karbaldr’s name is written in parentheses… Does this mean the Awakening System defines me as ‘Imir’ and not ‘Karbaldr’?”
“Nyao, grrr myaaa~.”
Since Yor’s head moved up and down, it must have been a cry of agreement.
“I already knew that the name of Karbaldr’s Purple Aether was ‘Enhancement’, so I’ll pass over that. But for the name of the Sky-Blue Aether to be ‘Sky’… doesn’t it feel a bit… lacking in effort?”
I was already speechless when I saw the baby dragon’s status window earlier, but seeing it again through mine makes it even more absurd. Terms like Firmament or Meteorology. It’s not like it’s impossible to name it with two-character Hanja words like ‘Enhancement’, so I wonder why the term ‘Sky’ was used so literally….
“Mental Acceleration is likely a Sky-Blue Aether skill, so why isn’t it in the form of ‘Sky and OO’, but just ‘Sky’?”
This is the most incomprehensible point. On the other hand, Yor just let out meaningless meows with an indifferent expression. It isn’t that a wise baby Dragon couldn’t come up with the same question, so he clearly knows something.
However, since he didn’t seem to have any intention of writing that ‘something’ on the Whiteboard to let me know, I moved on to the next line for now.
“The Disposition is listed as ‘Writer’ and ‘Possessiveness’… Was ‘Writer’ a word that could be classified as a disposition…?”
“Myoo, nya-.”
This time, a reaction that clearly signaled he didn’t know came back. Still, it wasn’t a matter serious enough to dwell on with Yor, so I decided to just accept it.
Thus, after reading all the stats written on my Status Window aloud, I opened Yor’s Skill Window.
==========
[Weather Manipulation] – (S)
[Tectonic Shift] – (S) [Locked]
==========
“Weather Manipulation, Tectonic Shift…? The Aether name is ‘Sky’, so why is there a skill related to the ‘Earth’…? Besides, this one is in a locked state…?”
Could it be that if I unlock that, the Aether name will change to something like ‘Heaven and Earth’ or ‘Universe’? If so, what exactly is my Mental Acceleration skill?
I sat up abruptly from where I was lying, thinking I couldn’t just leave it like this. My head was so full of questions that even if I looked at the skill descriptions, they wouldn’t register properly. At the very least, I felt I had to check the exact name of the Mental Acceleration skill.
So, after explaining the situation to Yor, I opened my Sky-Blue skill window, but far from my doubts being cleared, the confusion only increased.

[Weather Manipulation] – (S)
[Character Analysis] – (S)
[Tectonic Shift] – (S) [Locked]
[Writing] – (G) [Locked]
==========
“No, what on earth…….”
It was surprising that all but one were S-rank, but that ‘one’ carried a rank I had never seen in the Original Work, causing a literal cognitive overload. From the context, it seemed the identity of the Mental Acceleration skill was [Character Analysis], but that wasn’t what was important right now.
I stared blankly at the two words [Writing], then touched it as if possessed to bring up the description window.
==========
[Writing] (G) [Locked]
[: A skill derived as a reflection of {Disposition: Writer}]
:[Can be unlocked when the following conditions are met]
-[Condition 1. To ●● the ●● of ●●]
-[Condition 2. ■■’s ….]
-[Condition 3. To ●●● from the ….]
-[Condition 4. To solidify the determination to become the ●● of this novel]
==========
“What is this again…?!”
“What?”
“I saw a G-rank skill named [Writing] and clicked it, and it listed unlock conditions filtered with black boxes..”
Even if it was a skill that emerged due to {Disposition: Writer}, it probably didn’t appear solely because my profession was a writer. There must be a reason, and the conditions will likely be revealed only when I realize what it is.
“A skill that is very, very deeply related to writing, yet requires satisfying four filtered conditions to be unlocked…”
The rank right above SSS-rank is EX (Exceptional). However, there’s no way the G-rank, which is presumed to be above that, is just an abbreviation for ‘Great’. G must stand for ‘Genesis’ or ‘God’.
‘And for a healing genre writer possessed into someone else’s novel full of killing and angst, the content to be [Written] is…’
“It’s too obvious, isn’t it?”
Becoming the author of this novel and rewriting this world. [Writing] was clearly a skill that existed for this purpose.
The moment I reached that conclusion, the filtering over Condition 4 disappeared, and the following text appeared.
==========
Condition 4. To solidify the determination to become the author of this novel
==========
Even though I had guessed the answer and received confirmation, I wasn’t happy at all. I was just stunned and confused. As I mentioned back in episode 73, I’ve always thought there was a very high possibility of a third author existing—someone who came up with the atrocious idea of ‘let’s possess a healing genre expert into an angst genre novel!’
It was inevitable because the character names in the “Nahone” I possessed were based on Old Norse. Names like ‘Valhalla Academy’ and the concept of the Original Protagonist, many elements originated from Norse Mythology.
==========
[Name] Imir (Karbaldr Austri)
==========
Because my name was this. It fit too perfectly to be dismissed as a mere coincidence. For those readers who aren’t interested in Norse Mythology, let me explain what the problem is with the name ‘Imir’.
‘In that mythology, a being with a name homophonous to mine appears.’
Ymir (Imir), the primordial giant and the origin of the universe. Even this one-line summary is enough to show how central ‘Ymir’ is in Norse Mythology. With this, wouldn’t it be reasonable to think that I might be the protagonist of a possession novel?
Still, since I couldn’t be certain, I didn’t act out based on a ‘Protagonist Buff’ that might or might not exist; I simply thought and acted in ways I deemed best at each moment. But to think a ‘Genesis’ or ‘God’ level [Writing] skill would suddenly be given to me.
‘This… was I supposed to be the one writing it………!’
Now I finally understand why the name of the Sky-Blue Aether is ‘Sky’. Here, ‘Sky’ wasn’t used to mean the ‘Firmament’. It meant the supernatural Absolute who governs the laws of all things in the universe, the supreme being in the heavens.
It meant God.
That’s tuff.
