Chapter 21: Death or Life

Catwoman felt a bit dazed as a beautiful woman appeared out of nowhere claiming she could use divination, fooling those fools completely.

Then two people sneaked over to her, looking like they were going to rescue her, but the servant following them suddenly backstabbed his own teammate and could even give orders to the Sin Organization.

What was going on!

Noah’s brain also shut down, and she didn’t know the background of these black-clad men, so she couldn’t understand why the servant suddenly backstabbed and killed Thorn.

Was there internal conflict in their organization?

It didn’t seem like it, and this servant could even give orders to the Sin Organization.

Had he betrayed the Original Organization, or was he simply a mole planted by the Sin Organization?

She couldn’t understand what was happening at all.

Since Thorn was already dead, she couldn’t ask.

While trying to escape the encirclement, Noah shouted at the servant, “Are you crazy?!

What are you doing?!

You dare betray the organization?!”

To Noah’s utter surprise, the servant burst out laughing after hearing Noah’s question.

“Beautiful lady, why don’t you look in the mirror again?

Your expression right now is absolutely priceless!”

The tone, the manner—Noah was all too familiar with them.

Staring at the servant’s face in shock, she asked in disbelief, “Aurora?!

You are Aurora?!”

This face wasn’t Aurora’s face at all, but Noah was certain that the soul inside this body was definitely Aurora herself!

Aurora laughed wildly, as if mocking Noah’s stupidity and ignorance.

She directly declared her identity, “That’s right, it’s me!

You didn’t expect that I never died, did you?!”

‘Impossible!’

Noah thought with a deep frown as she clearly saw the servant kill Aurora, and Thorn even checked her corpse.

How could she still be here?

Could she have some kind of disguise technique?

Even so, it was impossible to pull off such a substitution right under her nose!

There was no time to think anymore.

Noah kicked away a Sin Organization member trying to stop her, then immediately rolled to dodge an attack from Greed.

She stood up as fast as she could, drew her pistol, and fired at Aurora.

But the Sin Organization’s continuous attacks made it impossible for Noah to aim.

She emptied her magazine but couldn’t hit Aurora.

Noah narrowly escaped the Sin Organization’s encirclement.

Gripping her dagger, she charged at Aurora, planning to kill her up close and then use Thorn’s long blade to rescue the catwoman.

After seeing Noah’s movement, Aurora merely smirked coldly.

She raised her short blade to block, but Noah grabbed her by the neck.

Noah raised her dagger and stabbed directly through Aurora’s heart.

While twisting the dagger, she said through gritted teeth, “Didn’t die, huh?!

Then I’ll kill you again!”

In Noah’s imagination, Aurora should have cursed her in hatred for killing her again.

But to her surprise, Aurora just looked at her quietly, not even fighting back.

Noah didn’t understand what Aurora was trying to do, but she couldn’t care less.

Just as she was about to let go and drop the corpse, her vision suddenly went black.

When she opened her eyes again, Noah saw an extremely bizarre sight: she was being choked by someone, and that same dagger was stuck in her own heart.

Noah looked up in shock, and the scene nearly short-circuited her brain.

She was actually seeing her own face!

Noah was astonished to discover that she had become the servant, while Aurora had become her!

How could this be?!

What happened?!

Noah saw that the dagger had already pierced this body’s heart and had even been twisted a few times, and her vision grew increasingly blurry.

This face of yours is now mine!”

At that moment, Noah’s hatred for Aurora reached its peak.

In her dying moments, Noah used all her strength to curse Aurora.

“Aurora—! Aurora—!”

Noah cursed bitterly.

“You just wait!

I will never forgive you!

I will never forgive you!!!”

But Aurora seemed not to hear.

She said in a tone of puzzled thought, “That shouldn’t be.

We’ve swapped bodies.

You should have died by all rights… But, it doesn’t matter…”

Aurora fiddled with the dagger in her hand as she crouched beside Noah.

“I’ll help you pass on now.

Don’t thank me too much~”

Amidst the manic laughter of all the Sin Organization members, Aurora slit Noah’s throat, and darkness gradually covered Noah’s eyes until she completely lost consciousness.

She was dead.

[“Sleep… Ghroth…”]

Noah opened her eyes suddenly, and the brilliant starry sky appeared before her as it always did.

She took a deep breath, gritting her teeth, and silently cursed Aurora over and over.

Noah finally understood what the so-called Envy ability truly was, but sadly, she had no way to break this curse.

As long as someone killed Aurora, she would forcibly swap bodies with that person—that was what Noah believed.

But she had no way to know Aurora’s true ability.

Now, aside from tying her up and restricting her movement, there were no other solutions to think of.

“Being stripped of your identity—how does it feel?

Noah’s eyes widened.

She asked in surprise, “What exactly is this Aurora?”

This time, the mysterious voice didn’t beat around the bush.

It answered directly, “She is Envy.”

Noah frowned and asked again in a helpless tone, “Of course I know she is Envy, one of the high-ranking members of the Sin Organization.”

“Heh, you misunderstood,” the mysterious voice explained again.

“I mean, she is the real Envy!”
