Chapter 56: Bro, Bro, Your Doujinshi Is Really Steamy

“The rest of the cleaning is all yours, Serena.”

As for Wuming herself, she simply sank back into the sofa.

When she heard this decision, Serena looked at her with clear dissatisfaction.

“Ugh… doesn’t Wuming want to help me out at all?”

Serena stared at Wuming resentfully. Wuming had no work today anyway—what was wrong with helping her clean?

“Don’t forget, this was the agreement,” Wuming reminded her of their earlier deal. 

“You’re supposed to handle the housework in exchange for living here. No backing out now.”

You wouldn’t want to sleep on the first floor tonight, would you, madam?

“Besides, it’s not like I didn’t do anything. I did clean up the mess from last night, you know.”

So Wuming felt she had already contributed. How could anyone say she hadn’t done anything?

This was called a well-deserved rest!

“And there isn’t much left anyway—just laundry and a quick tidy-up. It’s not some huge project.”

“With your diligence, Serena, I’m sure you’ll finish it in no time.”

“Ugh… just help me a little, Wuming.”

“No—way!”

Wuming went right back to peeling her orange, magnificently ignoring Serena’s discontent.

“I’m counting on you for the cleaning~”

“You’re so evil, Wuming!”

But then Serena’s little brain suddenly spun, and an evil smile spread across her face—the look of someone about to cause trouble.

“You’re right. We really should find all the ‘trash’ in the house and clean it out properly.”

“Exactly, exactly.” Wuming nodded in agreement.

Serena stood up and transformed into the perfect image of a virtuous wife, ready to clean for Wuming.

“Then I’ll get started on the cleaning, darling~”

And so Serena began cleaning. 

She went through the entire house from top to bottom. 

Wuming watched contentedly as her conveniently acquired “wife” handled everything.

She was doing a great job.

Serena worked hard, not missing a single corner. 

She wiped down the tables, washed the clothes, hung them to dry—the whole house sparkled.

Wuming, meanwhile, could just sit on the sofa, pet the cat, and watch TV. Life couldn’t be more comfortable!

“Next up—”

After finishing the living room, Serena’s gaze shifted toward Wuming’s bedroom. 

The corner of her mouth curved upward.

“There’s just one place left that hasn’t been ‘cleaned.’”

“Where?”

At this point Wuming still hadn’t realized how serious the situation was—until Serena spoke again.

“Of course it’s—your bedroom, Wuming~”

With that, she grabbed the broom and cleaning cloth and headed for Wuming’s room. 

A huge red “DANGER” sign instantly popped up over Wuming’s head!

Wuming rushed toward the bedroom and managed to block Serena at the doorway just before she could enter.

“No, Serena! That room is absolutely off-limits!”

Serena easily sidestepped Wuming’s attempt to stop her. 

After all, Wuming’s small frame was no match.

“You told me to clean the whole house, didn’t you? I’ve already cleaned everything else. This is the only spot left.”

Serena’s gaze fixed on the room behind Wuming. 

As a proper “housewife,” she had to clean her husband’s room thoroughly too.

She needed to sweep out all the trash inside—every last piece!

“I-I-I already told you! My room is clean—it doesn’t need cleaning!”

Wuming looked panicked, refusing to let Serena anywhere near the room. 

She was terrified her secrets would be exposed!

This has to be on purpose!

“I don’t think so.”

Serena narrowed her eyes, determined to go in and clean. 

“Your room had a cockroach before. There must be some trash you haven’t cleared out yet.”

“There isn’t! There absolutely isn’t!” 

Wuming denied it stubbornly. Her room was spotless! There was no trash at all!

“My room is very clean! That little roach must have wandered in by accident!”

“Anyway, you don’t need to worry about my room, Serena. I’ll keep it clean myself! There’s definitely no trash!”

Please don’t go in and clean, my dear ancestor!

My precious collection can’t be discovered!

Wuming wailed inwardly. 

If she had helped Serena clean earlier, Serena never would have suddenly decided to tackle her bedroom!

She’s just getting revenge!

“Then… if another cockroach shows up in your room next time, you’ll have to deal with it yourself, Wuming.”

Serena “gently” pushed Wuming aside and walked in. Wuming hurried after her.

“Wait, Serena! At least let me get ready first!”

“Wuming…”

Serena stopped, turned around, and looked at her.

“You wouldn’t happen to be hiding something you don’t want me to see, would you?”

She stopped in front of the cabinet under the bed—the only place she hadn’t opened yet.

Serena asked shyly, her face still red. Wuming kept staring at her but made no further move.
