Chapter 29: So Embarrassing

Although she hadn’t seen it with her own eyes, Yue Li knew exactly what Xing Lian was doing because it was all part of her plan.

First, fill Xing Lian’s stomach with soup, then lock the door; she would soon feel the urge.

If she didn’t want to wet her pants, the little one would definitely find a way.

In a closed room, what other options did she have? 

It would only be those few tricks.

Sure enough, the little girl soon fell for the trap. 

Yue Li appeared quietly and caught her red-handed.

Xing Lian felt incredibly ashamed. 

Her cheeks flushed a deep red, and she felt like she might spit blood from rage.

‘Why did she have to come back now of all times?’

Being halfway through and then being forced to hold it back was absolute torture.

“You…”

She wanted to scream at her, but the words wouldn’t come out.

What could she say?

Scold her for coming back at this time?

If she did, wouldn’t she be exposing exactly what she had been doing?

Xing Lian’s expression shifted repeatedly as she stammered, unable to speak.

As the culprit, Yue Li knew exactly what state the little one was in, but she pretended to be ignorant and even asked a question she already knew the answer to.

“Little Lian, you just said things weren’t what I thought and told me not to misunderstand. Now, can you explain it to me?”

Explain what? 

How could she possibly explain?

Xing Lian felt frustrated, her teeth lightly biting her lower lip. 

After a long silence, she spoke in a small voice, “Actually, it’s nothing. My skirt was just wrinkled, so I was straightening it a bit.”

“Oh, so that’s how it is.”

Yue Li nodded. 

She didn’t say she believed her, but she didn’t say she didn’t, either.

Xing Lian knew this explanation wasn’t clever and would be hard to believe, but other than that, she really couldn’t think of a better excuse.

Whatever. 

A clear conscience needs no excuse; she just needed to know she was innocent herself.

Yue Li wasn’t anyone important, so it didn’t matter if she was misunderstood by her.

Xing Lian comforted herself in her heart.

Yue Li stopped talking after asking, and Xing Lian sat blankly on the bed. 

The two of them looked at each other in silence.

However, Xing Lian soon lost her composure.

It was uncomfortable—it was really uncomfortable!

Why hadn’t she left yet?

Sweat began to form on Xing Lian’s forehead, and her hands covered her lower abdomen.

Time passed minute by minute. 

After ten minutes, she could no longer endure it.

“Um, I…”

Xing Lian wanted to say she needed to go to the bathroom, but just as she got halfway through, Yue Li interrupted her.

“Was the lunch delicious?”

“It… it was good.”

‘Only soup, what lunch?’ Xing Lian thought frantically.

“I feel like my body…”

“The weather has warmed up a bit. Do you want to go for a walk?”

“I want to—”

“It’s been a long time since I bought you new clothes. Do you want to buy a few more?”

“I—”

“As long as you show a little weakness, I’ll be as good to you as I was before.”

“…”

Every time Xing Lian tried to mention the bathroom, Yue Li would interrupt her. 

After being diverted several times, Xing Lian became increasingly anxious.

“Little Lian, what’s wrong? Why do you look so pale? Are you sick?”

Seeing Xing Lian’s poor complexion, Yue Li asked with a worried expression.

‘The only reason I look like this is because of you!’ Xing Lian complained in her heart. 

She didn’t want to deal with this woman anymore, so she threw off the covers, intending to ignore her and head for the bathroom.

But how could Yue Li let her have her way?

She reached out and pulled Xing Lian into a hug, intentionally delaying her.

But that hug caused a problem.

Xing Lian’s stomach was full of soup, and she had already been holding it in desperately. 

When Yue Li hugged her and pressed against her lower abdomen, she suddenly lost all strength. 

A wave of warmth spread through her lower body.

“Patter, patter.”

Xing Lian was stunned.

Feeling the warmth on her thighs, her cheeks burned and her breathing grew ragged. 

Only one thought remained in her mind.

‘I’m tired. Just destroy it all, this damn world.’

Because what happened was so humiliating, Xing Lian was consumed by rage. 

Her body trembled, and she couldn’t recover from the shock. 

Her eyes rolled back, and she fainted.

Seeing Xing Lian’s eyes roll back and her body go limp, Yue Li was startled.

She only wanted to tease the little one, not break her. 

If the little one was truly hurt by anger, she would be the one feeling heartbroken.

“Hey, wake up. Wake up! Are you okay?”

Yue Li patted the little girl’s face, but there was no response. 

She was somewhat worried, but now was not the time to focus on that.

A person has self-control while awake, but that vanishes when they faint. 

As the body’s natural instincts took over, Yue Li felt a wave of warmth against her own leg.

Yue Li knew exactly what it was.

Originally, she just wanted to fill the little one with soup and keep her from the bathroom to threaten her into submission.

She hadn’t expected the little one to be so sensitive that a simple hug would lead to this.

“This is bad. She’s definitely going to make a scene when she wakes up.”

“But if she doesn’t find out, that’s a different story.”

Yue Li’s thoughts were optimistic, but Xing Lian wasn’t a fool.

After sleeping for a while, Xing Lian slowly woke up. 

It was pitch black before her eyes, but she didn’t care. 

She rubbed her head and sat up in bed.

“Ugh, what happened to me?” She frowned and thought for a moment, and her memory quickly returned.

Resting after drinking the soup, waking up with an urgent need, but being unable to leave the room… she couldn’t hold it back, and then…

Xing Lian’s eyes widened, feeling an extreme sense of shame.

She had actually wet herself!

To have such a thing happen in front of an outsider… she was so ashamed she wanted to die.

She had been in great pain before fainting, but now she felt very relieved. 

It was obvious what had happened.

She had fainted in Yue Li’s arms; didn’t that mean she had seen everything?

She reached down and touched the hem of her skirt. 

It was dry. 

Her clothes had been changed.

Xing Lian felt she could no longer show her face.

Yue Li had changed her clothes, which meant she must have seen everything. 

She hadn’t done anything while she was unconscious, had she?

Xing Lian moved her legs and felt no discomfort. 

She reached out to check herself and found nothing unusual, which allowed her to breathe a sigh of relief.

It was best if nothing had happened. 

She didn’t want to have any more entanglements with Yue Li.

As she was lost in thought, footsteps suddenly approached.

“You’re awake?”

Yue Li pushed the door open and entered the room. 

Seeing Xing Lian sitting on the bed, a smile curled at the corners of her mouth.

Xing Lian didn’t speak. 

The person she least wanted to see right now was Yue Li; she hoped the woman would leave quickly.

But Yue Li didn’t do as she wished. 

She walked to her side and pulled her into a hug.

“I gave you a bath while you were unconscious. You have such a temper. It was just…”

Seeing Xing Lian’s expression change, Yue Li quickly corrected herself.

“Haha, anyway, don’t take it to heart.”

‘Don’t take it to heart? She says it so easily.’ Xing Lian felt indignant.

If it weren’t for her making so much soup and then locking the door, how could she have…

‘Wait!’

Before, she was in too much pain to think clearly, but now that she thought about it, there were problems everywhere.

‘A single lunch—why was there so much soup? Why was a perfectly good door locked?’
