Chapter 11: Luo Yunzhi’s School Routine

Whether it was her imagination or not, today’s weather seemed even better than usual. 

Sunlight filtered through the gaps in the falling leaves, casting a warm, cozy glow across her body.

Luo Yunzhi nibbled on the bread she held between her teeth, taking small bites. 

The strawberry filling melted on her tongue, leaving a sweet, pleasant taste.

She couldn’t help humming a light, cheerful tune.

A smile played on her lips.

The school gate was already right ahead… Luo Yunzhi finished the last of the bread, wiped her hands, and walked through the entrance toward the teaching building.

Occasional breezes blew past, gently stirring her hair. 

The students around her burst into laughter and lively chatter from time to time.

Luo Yunzhi blinked.

She listened carefully.

Since this was an all-girls school, the conversations swirling around her were mostly about idols, the latest handbags, or new makeup products.

Luo Yunzhi found it boring, so she stopped listening and continued toward the teaching building. 

Normally she wouldn’t waste time like this.

Even yesterday she hadn’t been in the mood. 

Every day was a nonstop cycle of school and part-time work with no time to rest.

But today was an exception.

Because she was happy.

“Little White is definitely worried about me~” Luo Yunzhi muttered to herself, her eyes curving into happy crescents. 

The image of the black cat seemed to appear before her.

Although she felt a cat couldn’t possibly be that smart, it had really happened. 

Even if it was a misunderstanding, it couldn’t dampen her joyful mood.

This was the first time someone had shown her care.

Even if that someone was a cat.

Lost in thought, she quickly entered the teaching building, climbed the stairs, and reached the classroom door. 

Only then did Luo Yunzhi snap out of her daydream.

She took a few light breaths, pulled out her old-fashioned thick black-rimmed glasses from her clothes, deliberately messed up her hair, and slowly walked into the classroom.

The moment she stepped inside, the noisy classroom… did not quiet down at all. 

She was like a ghost—no one paid her any attention.

Luo Yunzhi showed no reaction. 

She simply walked to her seat, sat down, took out her books, and began previewing the next subject.

There were still ten minutes until class.

She couldn’t waste them.

However, even though she tried, the noise in the classroom was much louder than usual. 

She had no choice but to put her book down.

Rubbing her brow, the young girl turned her head and looked toward the group of girls in the seats in front of her. 

They were the loudest ones.

What could be so exciting?

She wondered curiously.

“Hey, hey, did you watch that video yesterday?” 

The girl in the middle of the front row spoke first. 

She pulled out her phone and scrolled through videos.

“You mean that cat one?”

Someone replied.

“Yeah, yeah! That’s the one!” Another girl continued.

“That black cat is super cute, and don’t you think it’s really smart?”

“It does look pretty smart.”

“But it must be trained, right?”

“Hmm… trained?” One girl thought about it and nodded seriously. 

“That’s possible, but it’s still really smart.”

“Not just smart, but adorable too.”

“Cuteness forever!”

“Cuteness forever!”

Having reached some kind of consensus, the girls in the front cheered in unison before excitedly huddling together to continue their discussion.

Luo Yunzhi, sitting behind them, twitched the corners of her mouth. 

However, every time they mentioned the words “cute” and “smart,” she thought of her own black cat.

What was Little White doing at home right now?

She was a little curious.

At that moment, the girl in the middle of the front row finally found the video she wanted. 

Without hesitation, she turned on the speaker and played it out loud.

“Found it! This is the one!” She said excitedly. “This cat is my cloud pet from now on!”

Immediately after—

“Carrot?”

“Meow!”

“Tissue?”

“Meow!”

The sweet voice of the young girl and the adorable meows of the cat rang out from the video, causing the noisy classroom to quiet down noticeably.

Listening to the familiar voice, Luo Yunzhi’s eyes widened in shock. 

She never expected to hear her own voice here.

She couldn’t help coughing lightly.

She nearly choked.

“The… the video really went viral?” 

The young girl quickly pulled out her phone, opened the video app, and wanted to confirm whether it was true.

But before she could even search, the first thing that popped up was a video featuring a black cat. It was exactly the one she and Little White had filmed.

Looking at the stats, it already had over three hundred thousand likes, and the number was still climbing. 

Reaching five hundred thousand would probably be easy.

Luo Yunzhi was utterly incredulous.

She pinched her own cheek.

“Ouch… that hurts!” She rubbed her face, unsure whether to laugh or cry. 

But it was clear that her life was about to get much better.

“Huh? You watched it too?”

“Eh? What?”

“That video.”

Seemingly hearing her, the girl in the front row suddenly turned around and spoke to her. 

“You think the cat is super cute too, right?”

“Cu… cute.”

Luo Yunzhi snapped out of her daze.

“And really smart.”

“Hehe, right? Right?” 

The front-row girl looked as proud as if she had successfully recommended her favorite idol to someone else. 

Her whole face was glowing.

But right after, she seemed to notice something. Her brows furrowed slightly. 

She looked at the girls beside her, then back at Luo Yunzhi.

“Say something else.”

“W-wait, what?”

“It really sounds similar.”

“Similar to what?”

Hearing the front-row girl’s words, the other girls all gathered around, completely surrounding her. Their eyes were filled with curiosity.

“Of course the voice,” the front-row girl said, pointing first at the video and then at Luo Yunzhi. 

“Don’t you think the voice in the video sounds exactly like hers?”

“Huh? Is that true?”

“Maybe?”

“What does her voice sound like again?”

“Uh, I don’t really remember.”

The girls looked at each other, then turned their sharp, curious gazes onto Luo Yunzhi all at once.

“Hey, can you say something?” One girl hesitated before speaking. 

“You don’t have to say much. Just say ‘carrot’ and ‘tissue.’”

“This… I…”

Luo Yunzhi felt flustered being surrounded like this.

She bit her lip.

She leaned backward, and the chair scraped loudly against the floor, causing the classroom noise to die down a little more.

This was the first time Luo Yunzhi had experienced something like this. 

She actually didn’t want to be discovered, because it brought back some unpleasant memories.

Besides, not everyone had good intentions.

She needed to be cautious.

“Ro… bo. Tissue?”

The young girl spoke with great difficulty, her tone deliberately strange and distorted. 

“See? They don’t sound alike at all, right?”

“Huh? It really doesn’t sound the same.”

“Was it just our imagination then?”
