Chapter 10: Big Idiot

Luo Yunzhi moved with extreme caution. 

She was afraid of alerting the “thief” inside the bathroom, so she even slowed her breathing to the absolute limit.

As the distance to the bathroom grew shorter, the other party still seemed completely unaware. 

The young girl suppressed the excitement in her heart and slowly pressed down on the door handle.

Accompanied by a faint click, the lock opened and the door was pushed open a crack. 

Luo Yunzhi gripped the baseball bat tighter and tighter.

White steam poured out.

It felt slightly damp.

Luo Yunzhi held her breath, her expression turning cold. 

She suddenly yanked the door open and swung the bat inward mercilessly, as if terrified she might miss.

After all, it was a “thief.” 

The young girl wasn’t sure if the intruder posed any threat, so it was better to knock them out first and deal with the rest later.

She had already prepared herself mentally.

But she was clearly underprepared.

The baseball bat didn’t hit the supposed despicable “thief” as expected. Instead, it sliced through empty air.

Luo Yunzhi immediately sensed something was wrong.

Did this mean the other party had already noticed her? Would they counterattack next?

Her face paled.

Then she suddenly froze.

“Meow.”

The cat meow coming from the bathroom snapped Luo Yunzhi back to reality like waking from a dream. 

She looked down and saw a black cat sitting quietly on the floor.

The young girl’s lips moved. “Little White?” Her gaze swept across the entire bathroom, not missing a single corner. “Was it all my imagination?”

She rubbed her brow hard. Where was the “thief” from earlier? 

It wasn’t like the person could have turned into the black cat in front of her, right?

This was a materialist world, and Luo Yunzhi was a firm materialist. 

She blinked, then tossed the baseball bat aside.

“Did I scare you just now?”

“Meow.”

I don’t understand.

“Meow~”

I was scared to death.

The black cat really wanted to bite her right now. Bai Ziyu let out a small meow under her breath. 

Even now, her little heart was still pounding wildly.

Seriously, Luo Yunzhi was too cautious. 

If her hearing as a cat hadn’t been so sharp, she would have been hit square on just now.

Bai Ziyu glanced at the baseball bat. 

It was made of metal. When it had been dropped to the floor earlier, it made a harsh clang.

If she had been hit by that thing…

She swallowed hard.

“Meow meow!”

That would be murder!

“Meow!”

Murder!

The black cat stared at the young girl resentfully, but she also knew she couldn’t really blame her. 

If their roles were reversed, she would have done the same—or even locked the person up and called the police.

It was all for the sake of safety… But Luo Yunzhi was really scary. 

And was she that strong? She looked so delicate and frail.

“Looks like everything’s fine.”

The young girl breathed a sigh of relief.

The black cat looked very lively.

She was practically ready to tear the roof off.

“It really was just my imagination.” Luo Yunzhi muttered to herself. 

“I’ve been juggling school and part-time work non-stop for months.”

“Plus that intense run earlier, I’m still feeling dizzy even now.” She found a fairly convincing excuse for herself.

Then Luo Yunzhi squatted down. 

Only then did she notice that the black cat was completely soaked, and there were large puddles of water all over the bathroom floor.

“Did you accidentally turn on the shower?” 

The young girl smiled helplessly and lightly flicked the black cat’s little head with her finger.

“You’re not being very good.”

“Meow.”

Why did you hit me?

The black cat’s eyes were full of grievance. 

If Luo Yunzhi hadn’t suddenly rushed back home, she would have already cleaned everything up and wouldn’t be wet like this now.

Her cat fur was plastered to her body, which felt incredibly uncomfortable. 

She just hoped the girl would leave quickly so she could dry herself again.

She raised her front paw.

Full of obvious disgust.

“Huh? That gesture…”

“Meow.”

It means hurry up and leave.

“Are you asking me to help dry you off?”

“Meow?”

What?

Without giving her any chance to refuse, Luo Yunzhi picked up the black cat and carried her out of the bathroom. 

The clash of cold and hot air made the black cat shiver.

“Aww, there there.” 

The young girl rubbed the cat’s head, trying to soothe Bai Ziyu’s emotions. 

After a pause, she went to fetch the bath towel she usually used.

“This scent?”

A hint of suspicion crossed Luo Yunzhi’s face.

“It feels so familiar.”

She brought the towel close and sniffed it. She seemed to catch that same alluring fragrance from before. 

“I must really be too tired. Am I hallucinating again?”

Luo Yunzhi took a few deep breaths. She didn’t dwell on it too much. 

She wrapped the bath towel around the black cat and carefully wiped her dry.

Bai Ziyu was speechless… She wanted to run, but the girl was holding her down so firmly that she couldn’t move at all. 

She felt like a little girl’s doll.

The fluffy ball sighed. 

With no other choice, she could only accept the situation for now and wait gloomily for the other party to finish drying her.

“Little White, all done.”

Luo Yunzhi’s cheerful voice rang out.

Thank goodness it didn’t take too long.

The black cat thought to herself. Her gaze subconsciously drifted toward the full-length mirror in the room. 

Then… the entire cat flopped onto the sofa even more depressed.

Luo Yunzhi had definitely never raised a pet before. 

After being wiped down halfway by the bath towel, Bai Ziyu’s fur was now extremely messy.

Was this called “artistically disheveled”?

Where was the artistic part?!

The black cat had previously been a fluffy ball in name only. 

Now she was a real “furry” ball. All her fur looked like it had been tied into knots.

She hooked a few strands with her claw tip.

It hurt when she pulled.

“Ehehe… Sorry, Little White.” 

Seeing the black cat baring her teeth and grimacing, Luo Yunzhi rubbed her own cheek sheepishly.

“I actually don’t know how to take care of cats.” She looked away guiltily. 

“Okay, to be honest, I wouldn’t know how to take care of dogs, mice, or any of the twelve zodiac animals either.”

Bai Ziyu was utterly speechless.

Twelve zodiac animals?

Did she also want to try taking care of a dragon?

Only silence answered.

The black cat couldn’t be bothered to deal with her. 

Since she couldn’t smooth out her fur, she simply jumped onto the windowsill to bask in the sun, planning to organize her coat once it was dry.

Bai Ziyu rested her head on her paw and half-closed her eyes as she watched Luo Yunzhi. 

The young girl had already found her phone and was hurriedly rushing toward the door.

After all, she still had to go to school, and after wasting so much time at home, she probably wouldn’t even have time for lunch anymore.

Having to go to class on an empty stomach?

The black cat’s eyes looked a bit gloomy. 

She let out a soft “meow” to catch the girl’s attention, then walked over to the right side of the windowsill.

She raised her little paw and pushed over the cardboard box sitting there. 

The contents spilled out onto the floor, making Luo Yunzhi pause in surprise.

“Meow.”

That’s the bread you bought earlier.

“Meow meow.”

Take it and eat on the way.

“Meow.”
