Chapter 9: About to Be Discovered?

“Little White, I’m heading out.”

“Meow.”

I know.

“Remember to be good while I’m gone, okay?”

The black cat yawned as she watched Luo Yunzhi’s figure hurriedly run out the door. 

With a bang as the front door closed, the room fell silent once again.

The black cat arched her back and stretched. She narrowed her eyes and looked out the window. 

The sun was bright today—it would have been nice to go for a walk.

Warm sunlight poured into the room.

It felt cozy and pleasant.

But Bai Ziyu wasn’t tempted by the sun. 

She had more important things to do right now, like checking how the video from yesterday was doing in terms of views.

Her paw stepped on the sofa.

She pulled out the phone.

“She’s really careless.” 

After a familiar dizzying sensation, the black cat vanished from sight, replaced by a naked young girl.

The girl skillfully picked up the bedsheet and draped it over herself. 

Holding the old phone in her hand, she sat on the edge of the sofa, idly swinging her legs back and forth.

Luo Yunzhi really was an idiot… She had been in such a rush this morning that she even forgot her phone. 

But that worked out well, giving Bai Ziyu the chance to satisfy her curiosity.

She unlocked the phone.

“Hmm, let’s see.” 

She opened the video app, logged into the young girl’s account, and easily found yesterday’s video.

After brewing overnight, the video’s view count was growing rapidly. 

“At least you people have good taste.” She smiled proudly.

As Bai Ziyu had expected, the video had indeed gone viral online. 

While it wasn’t an explosive hit, it had already received over two hundred thousand likes.

She clicked into the comment section.

One comment read: “Is this really right?”

A recent username: “This is completely backwards! This cat is so smart. But do people actually play this kind of game where the cat points things out for the owner?”

From Carefree Wanderer: “Lmao, cat streamer, can you put two carrots in front of your owner and ask her which one is the tissue?”

Cat Is Cute: “Cat is cute.”

Bai Ziyu blinked. 

She lingered on the last comment for a while before closing the video and tossing the phone aside.

She actually wanted to play on the phone, but Luo Yunzhi’s phone model was way too old. 

It would probably be extremely difficult to even download a currently popular game.

If she tried to force it to run.

The phone would probably explode.

“If we keep filming, companies will probably start contacting us for ads soon.” 

Bai Ziyu thought. So they still needed to keep working hard.

For her future wealthy life, and to stop having to eat the girl’s “Cthulhu” meals, she felt that delicious takeout was far more appealing.

Bai Ziyu looked around the room.

She walked in front of the bathroom.

Bai Ziyu stood barefoot on the floor, letting the shower water beat against her body.

The young girl let out a long breath.

It felt so much better.

“Cats really can’t compare to humans~” Bai Ziyu raised her arm. Her skin looked so fair and delicate under the bathroom light.

When she was straying outside, she could never find clean hot water to shower with. 

There wasn’t even any hot water at all—she could only endure it.

Even though her time as a stray hadn’t been long and she had cleaned herself often, there was always a strange feeling. 

Only now had she finally gotten rid of that sensation completely.

This was the happiness of being human.

Even if she was a yokai.

“When will I be able to… appear in front of people as a human?” 

Bai Ziyu muttered to herself in the somewhat empty bathroom.

Then the door was pulled open, and a figure quickly stepped inside.

Luo Yunzhi clutched her keys in her hand. She stood at the doorway, panting heavily as she leaned against the wall. 

She wiped the thin layer of sweat from her forehead with her sleeve.

Because she had left in such a hurry that morning, she only realized at noon that she had forgotten her phone. 

But the money for her meals was still on that phone.

So right after school let out, Luo Yunzhi had rushed home as fast as she could. 

She glanced at the clock. 

She still had half an hour before her afternoon classes.

“Whew, good, good.”

The young girl breathed a sigh of relief. She had enough time to eat something and still make it back to class. 

She straightened up. “I remember I left my phone on the sofa.”

She had just taken a step forward.

When she suddenly froze.

Luo Yunzhi felt a bit dazed. Had she just heard the sound of water? 

She turned her gaze toward the bathroom.

The bathroom door was tightly closed. 

No sound of running water came from inside, but her breath caught as she saw something shocking.

A… person? Through the thin curtain, Luo Yunzhi could clearly see a petite figure inside the bathroom, seemingly drying her hair.

Had a thief broken into her house?

She swallowed hard.

But the thief was taking a shower?

Luo Yunzhi found it absurd. 

Suppressing the nervousness in her heart, she grabbed the baseball bat from the cabinet and cautiously approached the bathroom.

She had bought the baseball bat for self-defense, but she had never encountered any danger before, so it had just been sitting at home.
