The Marionette spun rapidly midair, Mind Threads blooming like flowers in full blossom.
The thick landscaping trees in the factory grounds were barely grazed before they snapped into dozens of pieces and crashed down with a thunderous roar.
Yang Liuqing’s pupils trembled slightly.
She stepped forward and once again used Hound Body Movement to evade the sharp edge.
The spot she had just stood on was instantly carved with horrifying Traces.
The War Machine wasn’t fast, but it coordinated perfectly with the Marionette.
Before Yang Liuqing could even find her footing, a Rock Heavy Fist larger than a clay pot was already upon her.
“Annoying bastard.”
His timing was precise, making things extremely uncomfortable.
Truly a professional-grade assassin.
His combat prowess was worlds apart from the likes of Daoba.
Even among A-rank, there were distinctions between high and low.
Both of their strengths exceeded Chise Liequan’s.
Moreover, they worked together seamlessly, posing a serious threat.
The Marionette controlled the mid-to-long range, making it troublesome to reach her.
The War Machine fought in close quarters, with absurdly high attack and defense.
Though slow, with the Marionette restraining the opponent, he could still leverage his advantages.
Get hit once from the front, and the Game was over.
Yang Liuqing chose not to clash head-on.
She shifted her body, evading the heavy punch, forcibly pushed through, and slashed her Twin Swords across the War Machine’s body.
Strike and retreat in one motion.
“Hard armor.”
The feedback from her grip felt terrible, like cutting into a massive block of granite.
She hadn’t caused much damage, but her hands were numb from the vibration.
The Marionette quickly gave chase, Mind Threads lashing out like whips.
The War Machine’s slow turning and sluggish movements were instantly compensated for.
The moment Yang Liuqing dodged the Marionette’s attack, he was already charging right at her.
Like a tank barreling at full speed, the pressure was overwhelming.
In Yang Liuqing’s eyes, his speed wasn’t that fast, but the pressure he brought was no less than the Marionette’s.
The heavy punch hurled over, directly creating a burst of wind.
It was a notch below Quanba Yang Xu’s Air Cannon, but it could be thrown consecutively.
While tangled with him, she also had to endure the Marionette’s interference.
One misstep, and the consequences were predictable.
Nothing more than being sliced apart or pounded into pieces.
As the number of slashes increased, the War Machine’s rocky body accumulated quite a few wounds.
But those couldn’t even be counted as scratches.
The more she attacked, the more she exhausted herself.
Yang Liuqing’s hands gripping the swords were aching.
Her new tracksuit had been grazed by the Marionette’s Mind Threads several times, leaving a few gashes.
Fortunately, each one was just a light brush, causing no real damage.
This was a problem caused by declining focus.
She could no longer fully concentrate on fighting both the War Machine and the Marionette.
“Sister, shouldn’t we call it?”
Ke Li sensed something was off.
Ke Ling, however, shook her head:
“The Master is far from her limit. Her Spiritual Space is vast, and she’s also sealed away a large pool of Spiritual Energy.
That’s more than enough to handle those two.”
“I see.”
Ke Li crossed her arms, her expression relaxing.
Her older sister had once conducted Special Training within Yang Liuqing’s Spiritual Space, so she knew more.
There was nothing to worry about.
“Still, we can give the Master a little hint.”
Ke Ling was strict, but she wasn’t rigid in her ways.
Hearing this, Ke Li immediately called out to the battlefield:
“Xiao Qingqing, use the Crimson Flame Sword and burn that big brute to a crisp!”
Yang Liuqing, locked in a bitter struggle, didn’t overthink it.
She obeyed and did as told, and the flames on her left-hand sword erupted violently.
From a short blade about two feet long, it swelled into a greatsword of six feet, swinging at the War Machine.
His expression shifted slightly.
Yellow Substance surged out, coating his entire body’s rock layer once more, even sealing the openings of his eyes, ears, nose, and mouth.
The Crimson Flame Sword struck down, transforming into a pillar of fire that engulfed the War Machine.
The Marionette outside quickly retreated to avoid being caught in the blast.
“Ha… ha… ha…”
Yang Liuqing gasped for breath after landing the hit.
That single strike had consumed a huge amount of her energy, pushing her to the brink once again.
From within the expanding pillar of flame, the War Machine stiffly stepped forward.
Seeing this, Yang Liuqing’s heart sank.
She had poured so much into that attack, yet it barely did anything?
Just as she began to doubt herself, a pained howl echoed from the pillar of fire.
The War Machine’s rock layer could block ordinary flames, so he wouldn’t be in trouble in the short term.
But how could the flames erupting from the Crimson Flame Sword possibly be ordinary?
Even through a thick layer of rock, it would still deal real damage to him.
If it lasted any longer, the rock layer would crack and collapse.
Seeing it was working, Yang Liuqing’s heart had just started to settle when her peripheral vision caught a massive shadow.
The Marionette had torn off a chunk of cement ceiling debris from the collapsed factory and hurled it with brutal force!
The target was the War Machine!
Yang Liuqing instantly understood her intent, but it was too late.
The cement ceiling debris flew into the pillar of fire and slammed the War Machine straight out of it.
He tumbled across the ground a few times before rising to his feet.
The rock layer automatically disengaged to vent heat.
His skin showed varying degrees of burns, and his aura was noticeably weaker than before.
The flame attack had been highly effective.
Had the Marionette not intervened, even if he hadn’t been burned to death, he’d have been crippled.
After removing the Rock Armor, yellow liquid seeped out and covered his body again, forming a new rock layer.
His aura dropped even further.
“This won’t work like this.”
The Marionette appeared beside him, her expression grim.
“No time. Let’s do the Connection.”
The War Machine heard some unusual sounds in the distance and made up his mind immediately.
“Fine.”
The Marionette stepped back, raised both hands, and spread all ten fingers.
One by one, Mind Threads extended from her fingers and pierced into the rock layer.
The next moment, a sharp gleam flashed in the War Machine’s eyes.
His aura swelled at an almost unbelievable rate.
Yang Liuqing focused her mind and activated her Magic Eye.
She could see the Marionette injecting energy into the War Machine through the Mind Threads.
“These opponents are tough to deal with.”
Ke Li sighed.
As nutrients for Yang Liuqing’s growth, these two were abnormally strong.
Together, they were at least AA-rank.
Ke Ling nodded:
“Mm, they’re excellent whetstones.”
The stronger the opponent, the more they could draw out Yang Liuqing’s true potential.
Such excellent whetstones were hard to come by on a normal day.
“Xiao Qingqing is about to be stuck in another bitter fight.”
Ke Li felt sorry for her.
If her firepower had been just a bit more intense earlier, she could have roasted the War Machine like a clay-baked chicken.
That rock layer, which seemed to have excellent heat insulation, wouldn’t have held out much longer.
The Marionette’s crude rescue had genuinely saved his life.
Now, through the Mind Thread Connection, the War Machine might not be back to full health on the spot, but he could recover a considerable portion.
Over there, they were truly united, but Yang Liuqing’s condition was growing dire.
Her stamina was nearly depleted, and her legs felt like lead.
So heavy she could barely lift them.
The surging drowsiness was telling her that her body was about to give out.
Thump-thump~
At that moment, her heartbeat quickened.
She could clearly feel some kind of energy surging through her limbs and bones.
Thump-thump~
Thump-thump~
The sound of her heartbeat was even clearly audible.
Was this a good thing, or a bad one?
