Chapter 9: Promotion Team 3, Ggotgam Officer 0

“If so, that creates an inevitable condition.”

“Condition?”

Sara’s eyebrows twitched.

Mujae took a deep breath, looking a bit tense.

Still, he figured there was no point holding back now that things had come this far.

“I’d like Ggotgam Officer Sir to appear on the live broadcast.”

“Eeh?”

Sara’s eyes widened, as if this was the last thing she’d expected.

But for Mujae, this was a crucial point.

“You remember our original content plan, right? It was an educational program.”

“We can’t do that anymore…”

“So, what if we tried the ‘Seocheon Flower Garden Extreme Jobs’ experience series from now on?”

“Ugh…”

Zack nodded his head, seeming to like the title.

But Hallakgoong’s face twisted up as if he’d just heard something dreadful.

“Just listening to that makes me smell sweat. Count me out.”

“We’ll go around the Seocheon Flower Garden departments, try out the jobs, and listen to the stories of the Shinsomi who work there… For that, we really need Ggotgam Officer’s appearance.”

“Hm.”

Sara fell into thought.

Mujae got down on one knee, matching Hallakgoong’s eye level.

“You don’t have to solve every complaint. What’s important is that you listen personally, Ggotgam Officer. Isn’t it great to have a boss who takes part in direct communication?”

“Hmph… You talk a good game.”

“Just look at today—even whenever the viewers mentioned Ggotgam Officer, the chat exploded.”

Sara tried not to show it, but her ears perked up.

From what Mujae had gathered after spending all this time with her, she was an attention-seeker.

Just this little nudge from Mujae had already filled Sara’s mind with images of a comment section plastered with praise for herself.

@GgotgamOfficerFan: Sir, you’re really amazing~!

@SeocheonBest: Please come out more often, Ggotgam Officer, raise the average looks!

@WorkerHope: Wish my boss was like this…

“Hm…”

Sara, stroking her chin, glanced at the Fertilizer Team Shinsomi, who had been watching reactions at the side.

“What do you all think?”

“I think it’d be fun, Sir!”

The Fertilizer Team Shinsomi, whose favor for the Promotion Team had just skyrocketed, jumped in enthusiastically.

“Whichever department you visit, they’ll be happy to have you!”

“Really?”

Was this the answer she wanted?

Sara smiled softly, then nodded toward the Promotion Team.

“Alright. Let’s do it.”

“Really?!”

“Waaah~”

Mujae shouted out loud.

The Fertilizer Team Shinsomi cheered as well.

Only Hallakgoong, who had quietly moved to the corner, shook his head with a negative gesture, but no one cared.

“But, I have conditions too.”

“Yes!”

“No more unplanned live broadcasts like today.”

“…Of course!”

Right, there’s no way she didn’t know.

But even Mujae had no intention of ever doing a surprise live like today again.

“My appearance will be once a week.”

“Yes!”

“And this time, I’m joining the mukbang too.”

“Yes!… Huh?!”

Mujae answered excitedly, then stared at Sara in surprise.

Sara gave a sly smile.

“I’ll be the main character.”

But the next day, he ended up the main character in a very different sense.

The next day, back at the Fertilizer Warehouse.

This time, unlike before, everything—from lighting to food—was perfectly prepared for the live broadcast.

Though fertilizer was still piled up everywhere, in the middle, Mujae and Sara’s mukbang spot had been set up neatly.

The stench was inevitable.

Jack finished setting up the camera for the live broadcast and signaled with his hand.

Seeing this, Hallakgoong shouted toward the cast.

“Cue!”

The Promotion Team’s Fertilizer Warehouse mukbang had begun.

Mujae and Sara sat in a line at the table, facing each other awkwardly and exchanging greetings.

With oxygen supply masks on, only their eyes could be seen.

“Hello.”

“Good afternoon.”

In front of them, steaming bowls of Doenjang-guk, Cheonggukjang-jjigae, Curry, and White Rice were neatly laid out.

Not feeling particularly eager to eat right away, Mujae decided to start the mukbang as an interview.

“Thank you so much for joining us personally.”

“Indeed.”

“Last time, we heard vivid stories from the Fertilizer Team Shinsomi, right?”

“Indeed.”

Mujae, trying to keep the interview flowing smoothly, paused for a moment.

He glanced at Sara’s face, but saw no hint of emotion… and sensed danger.

‘This person… is frozen.’

Sara, seized by nerves, had completely stiffened up!

If the interview kept going like this, she’d just keep repeating ‘Indeed’ no matter what he said.

He needed a turning point.

“If we keep talking like this, we can’t show Ggotgam Officer’s handsome face to everyone.”

Soon, people were gathering in groups in the live chat, showing their agreement.

@AfterlifeSocialite: I want to see the faceeee

@KnotBracelet: It’s mukbang time anyway, face reveal gogo

Sweat broke out on Sara’s forehead as she checked the comments.

When she agreed to join the mukbang, she thought she’d be a broadcasting genius.

Watching Mujae flounder during the surprise live, she thought she could do much better.

But alas, now that the real broadcast was underway, Sara’s mouth wouldn’t move.

Mujae was the first to remove his oxygen supply mask.

“Hup… S-Sir, would you like to take off your mask too…?”

At Mujae’s effort to smile through the stench, Sara, as if hypnotized, took off her oxygen supply mask.

And her nose was assaulted, right on cue.

“Aigomae!”

It was, quite literally, a nose-piercing stench.

Sara’s eyes shot open.

The slightly homey reaction of the Ggotgam Officer sent a torrent of comments.

@JudgementExpert: LOLLLLLL

@AfterlifeDoctor: Oh wow, you really are good-looking LOL

@StonePebble: LOL I kinda knew but didn’t realize my junior’s working conditions

Even the Fertilizer Team Shinsomi watching at the filming site burst out laughing.

Hallakgoong quickly gestured to Jack, making sure to get them on camera too.

Mujae finally picked up his spoon.

He took a big scoop of Doenjang-guk and mixed it thoroughly with White Rice.

In Sara’s eyes, it was as if the rice was rotting in real time.

“Mm! This is good! Does the Dining Hall deliver this? Why does it taste better here?”

Encouraged by Mujae’s much more positive reaction than expected, Sara picked up her spoon as well.

In front of her was Curry neatly plated without any garnish.

@HeavenSF: LOLLL Ggotgam Officer’s eyes are shaking

@FourSeasonsHellfire: LOLLLLLL you’re just nibbling

@TotalAfterlife: You need to take a big scoop like the Promotion Team

Sara barely dipped her spoon about one-fifth of the way in and took it out.

Even that was apparently a shock, as she just stared at it in silence for a long while.

With her sitting motionless beside him, Mujae urged her on.

“Sir? Are you alright? You’re alive, right?”

“……”

“The Fertilizer Team says that when they’re busy, they eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner here!”

“……”

Tap.

In the end, Sara put down her spoon.

The Fertilizer Team Shinsomi, watching with excitement, burst into giggles.

“We’ll build a proper Dining Hall right away!”

“Really?”

“Of course! And, uh, until it’s built, we’ll set up Outdoor Tables!”

“Waaah~”

The Fertilizer Team Shinsomi cheered, and the comment section erupted in joy.

@FirstTimeReaper: Wow, that’s cool

@JudgementEve: LOL no choice but to be cool in this environment LOL

@UpsideDownHeaven: I want to bring my boss here

With nothing left to say, Sara gave a literal cool farewell.

“Well, I’ll be going now!”

“Sir? You have to finish your meal before you go!”

Sara made a quick exit from the camera.

Mujae considered trying to stop her, but Hallakgoong held up a sketchbook toward him.

[Goal achieved, wrap it up]

“Uh… Well, everyone, until we call our boss out again next time… Goodbye! Thank you!”

With Mujae’s hasty closing remarks, it seemed the mukbang was over.

But then Hallakgoong gave Jack a new order after the live broadcast ended.

“Not live, record it.”

“We’re filming again?”

“We have to.”

Hallakgoong sat down in the chair Sara had used, taking off his oxygen supply mask.

His sullen expression looked just like Sara’s.

“We promised the viewers, so we have to. Besides…”

He gestured at the camera, lights, and food.

“We put so much effort into setting this up, it’d be a waste to just clean up. Jack, bring your chair.”

Soon, a short video was uploaded to the Seocheon Flower Garden Channel.

The three members of the Promotion Team sat side by side in the Fertilizer Warehouse, eating brown food—a mukbang video.

With the title [We Did It! Fertilizer Warehouse Episode].

And unlike other videos, a flood of comments poured in from Seocheon Flower Garden Shinsomi.

Most of them were requests like, ‘Please visit our department too!’

Except for just one.

Only the Farming Team 3 stayed silent.
