Ziya’s hand just touched Bai Li’s pant leg, and her heart beat like a drum.
*Thump, thump.*
She quickly lowered her head, her lips moving fast as she silently recited the core incantation of “Dream Demonization.”
A streak of ghostly purple light darted from her fingertips, carrying a characteristic slight chill, as it gently pressed against the Dantian in Bai Li’s lower abdomen.
She held her breath, keeping it very light, fearing she might wake the person on the bed.
Baining had just completed the transformation using the Progenitor’s Blood, and Bai Li’s current state was unstable.
If he woke up now, her plan would be ruined.
“…”
Bai Li only let out a grunt, drool sliding from the corner of his mouth and leaving a small wet spot on the sheet.
He probably felt the unfamiliar power coursing through him.
His small body twisted, changing from a spread-eagle position to a curled-up ball.
His shoulders shrugged slightly, and his breathing remained long and even.
There wasn’t the slightest sign of him waking up.
‘Don’t move, Father…!’
Ziya breathed a sigh of relief.
She applied force with her fingertips, continuing to pour magic into his body.
She hadn’t pushed it very far before encountering resistance.
The Progenitor’s Blood within Bai Li seemed to have a mind of its own.
A red glow emerged from beneath his skin, stubbornly resisting Ziya’s purple light.
The two powers collided at his lower abdomen, producing a very faint hum.
The red light was clearly more overbearing, pushing the purple light back halfway in an instant.
Ziya’s arm immediately went sore.
Sweat dripped down her forehead, trailing along her cheek, and onto the back of her hand.
She gritted her teeth and adjusted the rhythm of the incantation, breaking the single beam of purple light into countless fine threads.
Like needles, they poked into the gaps of the red light bit by bit.
This process was exceptionally taxing.
The red light constantly counterattacked.
As soon as a bit of purple light seeped in, it was coiled up and thrown out by the red light.
After several repetitions, Ziya’s fingertips began to go numb, and her shoulders followed suit.
She changed her posture, kneeling on the edge of the bed and leaning closer to Bai Li.
She pressed her other hand against his shoulder to keep him from moving while concentrating to maintain a steady output of purple light.
Bai Li’s breathing occasionally faltered, and his chest rose and fell more quickly, but it soon returned to a steady pace.
However, his brows furrowed, and his small fists clenched unconsciously.
The red and purple lights beneath his skin were still locked in combat.
One moment they surged to his chest, and the next they ran to his arms, causing his forearms to twitch slightly.
His face alternated between flushed and pale, looking somewhat uncomfortable.
‘Just hold on a little longer.’
Ziya thought to herself.
If Baining could do it, there was no reason she couldn’t.
She couldn’t let Baining have Pops all to herself.
She had to leave her own Dream Demon Mark.
She bit her lower lip until it turned red.
The magic within her was being drained bit by bit, and her back was already soaked with sweat.
Under her persistence, the purple light finally began to slowly overwhelm the red light.
It established a foothold in Bai Li’s body and spread throughout his entire frame along his Meridians.
Wherever it went, the red light retreated step by step.
When the purple light spread to Bai Li’s tailbone, Ziya felt the pressure lighten.
She quickened the pace of the incantation.
As the final syllable fell, she abruptly withdrew her hand.
The magic within her was instantly emptied.
Her vision went dark for a moment, and her body swayed.
She quickly reached out to grab the headboard to avoid falling.
Hunched over, she gasped for air, her chest heaving violently.
It took a long time before she could breathe normally again.
Once she recovered, she looked down at Bai Li, and her eyes suddenly lit up.
At Bai Li’s tailbone, a thin tail slowly emerged.
It was furry, about half a foot long, and had a spade shape at the tip.
It looked almost exactly like Ziya’s tail.
His eyelashes seemed to have grown longer as well, and the corners of his eyes slanted upward slightly, taking on some traits of a Succubus.
The flush on his face had yet to fade, and his sleeping face still looked silly.
His mouth twitched occasionally; who knew what kind of dream he was having?
Ziya felt a surge of secret joy.
She reached out, wanting to touch that soft little tail.
Just as her fingertips were about to make contact, a crisp dragon roar suddenly echoed from outside the window, piercing the silence of the night.
*Creeeeeak —*
Immediately after, the bedroom door was pushed open just a crack.
A pair of golden vertical slits peered through the gap, staring intensely at the two people on the bed with undisguised hostility.
‘Sister Longjiu?!’
Ziya’s hand froze in midair.
She thought to herself that things had taken a turn for the worse.
Longjiu pushed the door open and walked in.
Her gaze was fixed straight on the Succubus tail behind Bai Li, then swept over Ziya’s sweat-drenched forehead and pale face.
“Sister Ziya, you certainly moved fast. To think you’ve already succeeded.”
Ziya stood up straight, shielding the bed as she looked at her warily.
“Sister Longjiu, what are you trying to do?”
“What am I doing?”
Longjiu took two steps forward, her gaze landing on Bai Li, a hint of obsession flashing in her eyes.
“Naturally, I’m here to snatch Father. Since Sister Baining could act in secret and you could take advantage of the opening, there’s no reason for me to watch the two of you divide him up.”
She raised her hand, and a faint golden light shimmered in her palm.
That was the Dragon Blood Power unique to the Dragon Race.
“Today, a bloodline of Succubus and Vampire combined isn’t enough. We need to add one from the Dragon Race. Only then will Pops truly belong to the three of us.”
Ziya’s heart tightened.
She hurriedly urged her last bit of magic, purple light flickering at her fingertips again.
“Don’t! Such a mix of bloodlines would be too chaotic for Father.”
On the bed, Bai Li was still fast asleep, completely unaware of the undercurrents surging around him.
He simply turned over unconsciously, and that little tail lightly brushed against the sheet, looking exceptionally innocent.
