Ignis didn’t even glance at Alicia. She just shook her head slightly, as if shooing away a mosquito.
Held by Ignis, Lynn smelled a more intense scent of sulfur radiating from her.
He felt a scorching energy flowing through her body.
[Target D: Ignis, Blackening Value: 0, Possessiveness: 100%]
The line of text popped up again.
Despair welled up in Lynn’s heart.
A zero Blackening Value, yet she could easily dissolve a greatsword and absorb Holy Light.
“How was this a Low-level BOSS?”
This was a humanoid weapon of mass destruction.
“Who exactly are you?”
Alicia’s voice trembled slightly.
Ignis didn’t answer.
She simply held Lynn, her gaze sweeping over Vivian and Alicia.
“I don’t like you guys,” she concluded.
“But Lynn is mine!”
Lilith suddenly rushed in front of Ignis, reaching out to grab Lynn.
Ignis’s gaze finally landed on Lilith.
She looked down at the small girl, her face devoid of any expression.
Then, she lifted her foot.
The movement was very slow, like someone about to step on an ant.
Lilith’s body froze.
She stared at Ignis’s raised foot—her bare foot was covered in fine, red scales.
Lynn’s heart nearly jumped out of his chest.
Was this Dragon Girl going to stomp Lilith to death?
Ignis’s foot came down.
It didn’t hit Lilith, but slammed into a patch of snowy ground beside her.
Boom!
A deep pit was crushed into the snow.
Snowflakes sprayed everywhere.
Lilith was covered in slush, falling back in terror.
Ignis withdrew her foot.
“I said, don’t touch my things,” she said, her voice carrying an indisputable authority.
Sitting in the snow, Lilith looked at Ignis, her body shaking slightly.
The dagger in her hand fell to the ground with a crisp clatter.
Vivian and Alicia also stopped moving.
Deep wariness showed on their faces.
Ignis turned around, still holding Lynn.
“Let’s go, time to head back,” she said to Lynn, her voice returning to that slightly ditsy, airheaded tone.
Lynn felt himself being hoisted up.
Ignis flapped her wings and soared into the sky once more.
Cradled in her arms, he flew higher.
Below, Vivian, Alicia, and Lilith stood in the snow, watching them disappear into the distance.
Lynn could see the complex expressions on their faces—unwillingness, anger, and dread.
But this time, they didn’t give chase.
He was carried away by Ignis.
The wind began to howl in his ears again.
He looked at Ignis’s profile.
Her expression remained unchanged, but her golden pupils reflected the white clouds on the horizon.
He was now a “shiny” collectible, “collected” by a dragon.
He didn’t know if this counted as escaping those three yanderes.
He only knew that he had jumped from a fire pit into another abyss.
And in this abyss, there was a dragon.
Lynn was tucked under Ignis’s arm, the wind rushing into his ears.
The only thing he could do was squeeze his eyes shut.
He felt like a ragdoll hijacked by a kidnapper—a limited-edition, glowing one at that.
Below, on the snow-covered plains.
Vivian, Alicia, and Lilith stood by the massive crater Ignis had made, looking up at the shrinking black speck in the sky.
The air was deathly quiet.
This silence was more terrifying than any roar.
Vivian was the first to move.
She didn’t chase.
She simply tossed the broken sword hilt into the snow and drew a spare Knight’s Longsword from her waist.
She gripped the sword with both hands, raising it high above her head.
The crimson patterns on her heavy armor suddenly lit up like glowing brands.
A visible aura of blood-colored flame erupted from her body, evaporating all the falling snow around her.
“Berserk Blood State.”
Her voice was no longer clear, but a raspy mix of metal grinding against metal.
She didn’t point toward the sky.
Instead, she aimed her blade at the snow mountain Ignis had just flown out of.
Then, she swung down.
There were no flashy special effects, only a pure, extremely condensed blood-colored Sword Qi that left the blade, instantly expanding into a terrifying crescent moon dozens of meters long.
Space itself groaned under the weight where the Sword Qi passed.
Rumble—!
The entire snow mountain shook violently.
Halfway up the mountain, a bottomless, massive crack appeared out of thin air.
Tons of snow and rock collapsed along that fissure, letting out a thunderous roar.
Even Lynn, high in the air, felt that terrifying vibration.
He opened his eyes in horror and looked back.
He saw the sword scar that had nearly split the mountain in two.
‘That crazy woman! She’s going to tear the mountain down!’
“Those who desecrate the Sacred Mountain shall be cleansed by the Holy Light.”
Alicia’s voice was cold and ethereal.
The Six-Winged Seraph Phantom behind her had fully materialized.
The angel lowered its head, its face obscured, with six wings blotting out the sky.
The angel slowly raised a hand.
A long spear made entirely of light condensed in its grasp.
Alicia pointed her scepter at the collapsing snow mountain.
“JUDGMENT.”
The Spear of Light descended from the heavens.
It wasn’t an attack so much as a purification.
The Spear of Light made no sound as it wordlessly pierced the peak of the mountain.
Then, centered on the point of impact, the rocks and snow of the summit began to melt and dissolve, turning into pure light particles that dissipated into the air.
A massive hole with perfectly smooth edges appeared at the peak.
Sunlight passed through the hole, forming a straight pillar of light that illuminated the abyss below.
Lilith stood still.
She only lowered her head, looking at the small doll in her hand that bore a slight resemblance to Ignis.
She pulled out her poisoned dagger and stabbed hard into the doll’s wings.
“I’ll make you fly… how dare you steal my Brother…”
Her voice was sugary sweet, filled with childlike innocence.
High in the sky, as Ignis flew while carrying Lynn, her body suddenly jolted.
She let out a groan of pain.
The dragon wings on her back spasmed unnaturally, causing her flight path to become unstable.
A sharp, soul-tearing agony radiated from the base of her wings.
“Hmm?”
Ignis frowned.
She glanced down at her wings, but there were no wounds on them.
Yet the pain was incredibly real.
She looked back toward the mountain.
Her home, her Dragon’s Den, and her treasury were currently being hacked by a crazy woman’s sword and burned by a religious nut’s light.
The entire mountain was wailing.
Looking at the confused and aggrieved expression on Ignis’s face, Lynn felt a chill go through him.
He had a pretty good idea what was happening.
Lilith’s curse had taken effect.
