Chapter 12: I Shall Just Become a Witch

“Brother!”

He gently stroked his sister’s head, his tone serious.

“When faced with a choice, don’t make a decision you’ll regret.”

Lin Xue’er slapped his hand away heavily, crying.

“I don’t want to hear it either! Brother… sob!”

Lin Lue picked Lin Xue’er up and placed her in a nearby shop, giving the shopkeeper some coins to look after her.

He turned around and ran toward the direction where Molly had disappeared without hesitation.

“Brother!!”

Lin Xue’er tried to chase after him, but she tripped over a low threshold and fell hard onto the cold ground.

Watching Lin Lue’s determined figure fade into the distance, her tears finally burst through the floodgates.

Her small fists slammed against the ground as she let out thin, painful whimpers.

She knew she couldn’t stop him, because her brother was just that kind of person.

Otherwise, he wouldn’t have taken her in when she was wandering the streets alone with no one to rely on.

The pinkish-white aura on her body grew thicker and more violent.

The raging flames licked the walls, leaving behind black marks.

Thick smoke billowed, obscuring vision.

Molly was searching for survivors house by house.

Born into luxury, she had never experienced such a harsh and dangerous scene.

She was coughing incessantly from the pungent smoke, and her delicate cheeks were stained with ash.

She channeled her Space Power to form a transparent barrier around her.

However, these flames were strange and possessed a strong corrosive property, actually managing to burn through her Space Barrier little by little.

This was not a simple fire!

The situation was critical, and the sound of crying was constant.

Molly didn’t have time to think.

She gritted her teeth, ignored the danger, and broke through door after door, using her Space Power to transfer the survivors out of the sea of fire.

Most were little girls.

She hadn’t misheard the cries for help.

But it was too slow.

Far too slow.

Just as she was feeling extremely anxious, a strange sensation suddenly washed over her.

Molly discovered that she could clearly “see” through doors and walls to check if there were any survivors inside!

X-ray vision?

She didn’t have time to overthink it.

Her rescue speed significantly increased as she cut down on wasted effort.

She soon reached the top floor of the building.

“Just hold on a bit longer, it’s almost—”

The fire scorched the sofa and licked the walls black.

The heatwave hit her face, making her hair dance.

Even though sweat was rolling down her forehead, Molly was still happy.

Because this was the last survivor.

A giant claw burning with black flames suddenly slammed down from the side!

The ear-piercing sound of flesh tearing was accompanied by the sizzle of burning fat.

The survivor she had just helped up was directly torn in two!

Hot blood splattered across Molly’s face.

The joyful smile on Molly’s face from the rescue instantly froze, and her pupils constricted violently.

In the next second, her back felt numb. Instinctively, she let go and twisted her body.

The giant claw grazed past her, tearing deep gouges into the charred wall.

It snapped one or two strands of her hair.

She had barely dodged it.

“A Space Witch? Too weak.”

A cold voice drifted into Molly’s ears.

Looking toward the source, she saw a small white cat covered in black flames slowly walking out of the fire.

Nine pitch-black tails swayed, the heat creating faint sonic explosions as they lashed.

Its eyes were blood-red, and it spoke human words.

Molly propped herself up against the wall and stood up, coughing a few times.

Her face was full of shock.

“A Magic Beast? No, an ordinary Magic Beast couldn’t possibly possess such high intelligence…”

“You talk too much.”

The Nine-tailed Cat snorted coldly.

Its tiny paw suddenly expanded, transforming into a massive claw of flesh and blood.

Carrying scorching black fire, it slammed down toward Molly!

With a bang, the ground shattered and the black fire exploded!

Molly rolled out from the other side, panting.

That was close.

Fortunately, she had used Space Teleportation, or she would have been in danger.

“Meow!”

Countless burning fireballs followed immediately, smashing wildly toward her current position!

Molly opened her Space Barrier.

The fireballs slammed into it one after another, creating ripples across the barrier.

Molly’s hands began to tremble, and her face turned pale.

The intense heat made her sweat soak through her white stockings, making her toes feel sticky.

With such a terrifying heatwave, she couldn’t hold on much longer.

“Also at the 8th Tier, and with a top-tier attribute like space, yet you use it so poorly. How ridiculous!” the Nine-tailed Cat mocked, throwing fireballs relentlessly.

“Who exactly is behind you?”

Molly asked sharply.

“I’m not telling you. Go to your grave in ignorance!”

Molly realized it was indeed a trap for her.

The purpose of this fire was likely to lure her out.

Damn it, to deal with her, they had actually sacrificed so many lives!

Molly’s gaze became cold.

She voluntarily shattered her Space Barrier and dodged the fireball explosion with a roll.

Crouching halfway, her hands moved, continuously throwing out sharp Space Blades, cutting through the heatwave to strike at the opponent.

However, the Nine-tailed Cat dodged them one by one with its incredible speed.

Molly felt a pang of regret for not training properly.

Her experience in space manipulation was too shallow, and the opponent was too agile.

She couldn’t hit her target at all.

Her Magic Power was almost exhausted.

Molly felt a daze, and her eyes dimmed.

Was she going to die here?

Did she regret it?

No, she never regretted saving people.

Those who could become Witches were all obsessive in some way.

“Oh? Have you accepted your fate?”

“Don’t worry, it’ll only hurt for a second.”

The Nine-tailed Cat licked its paw and slowly approached Molly.

In that moment between life and death, that strange sensation descended once more!

Molly widened her eyes subconsciously.

To her astonishment, she saw small silver balls of light sticking to the Nine-tailed Cat’s body.

They pulled out threads of light that reached her.

Molly didn’t understand what this was, but a desire screamed in her heart:
