In the Examination Hall, the ornate ceiling with its pale golden dome was covered in a layer of gilding.
Two rows of unique Magic Instruments emitted dazzling light as groups of Candidates formed lines and began to leave the area.
Emerging from the dematerialized mysterious space, the few people walking ahead gradually solidified into physical forms one by one, with Ailundun being the last to step out.
As his foot crossed the threshold of the Secret Realm gate first, a strange sensation spread from his lower half, slowly creeping up his entire body as Ailundun’s form shifted from its ethereal state back to solidity.
Unlike the icy, snowy landscape within the Secret Realm, the warm atmosphere indoors, accompanied by a gentle, cozy heat, gradually relaxed both his body and mind.
After walking out the gate, he carefully scanned the area outside and suddenly froze.
Because the scene outside was not as harmonious as he had imagined.
Several teachers wearing the Magitech Institute’s emblem were discussing something with Isabella.
Many of them were unfamiliar faces Ailundun had never seen before.
Isabella, with her light golden hair cascading down to her waist, exuded the aura of a Princess.
“This unexpected situation… I hope you can give us a reasonable explanation.”
“We will.”
Ailundun didn’t intentionally eavesdrop, but their voices carried just enough for him to hear.
He and Luofulei approached Leisha to get an understanding of the situation.
Leisha explained in detail, and only then did he and Luofulei understand what had actually happened.
It turned out that the decision to arbitrarily extend the Examination was Lami’er’s own.
Seeing Ailundun emerge safely from the Secret Realm, these teachers let out a sigh of relief.
It seemed no major incident had occurred after all.
That was enough.
One of the teachers, a woman, walked up to Ailundun with a smile.
He could see the nameplate on her chest: Lu Ya.
“Phew, it’s such a relief that you’re all okay…”
Lu Ya took a long breath, her mood lifting.
“Thank you for your concern, Teacher. Teacher Lami’er is still inside the Secret Realm. Please go and check on him.”
Ailundun smiled and nodded politely.
“La… Lami’er?”
Lu Ya’s expression stiffened, her smile instantly vanishing.
She had jumped to conclusions.
Seeing the students come out safely, she thought she wouldn’t have to work overtime.
She had completely forgotten about Lami’er.
To be honest, she really didn’t want to deal with him at all.
‘Damn Lami’er…’
Lu Ya cursed inwardly, then turned to explain the situation to the other Magitech Institute teachers behind her.
Ailundun clearly saw the smiles disappear from those teachers’ faces as well.
“My apologies, we need to go handle the Secret Realm incident now…”
Lu Ya offered Ailundun an apologetic smile.
“Please give my regards to Teacher Lami’er for me.”
Ailundun smiled warmly at Teacher Lu Ya.
These were his future teachers.
He needed to build good relationships first.
“Re…gards?”
Leisha, standing nearby, saw Ailundun’s sincere smile and couldn’t help but feel a shiver of disgust run down her spine.
Lami’er probably least wants to see you right now.
She didn’t know how Ailundun could say such nauseating things with a straight face.
The teachers quickly got to work, busying themselves with the Magic Instruments.
From time to time, Ailundun could still hear Lu Ya cursing Lami’er.
On the other side, groups of Candidates huddled together, looking in their direction and seemingly discussing something.
Some of their eyes held pity.
Other Candidates looked gleeful, apparently feeling fortunate that their own Examiner was a normal person.
Seeing their relieved expressions, Ailundun was inexplicably reminded of his own Examiner, Lami’er.
He wondered how Lami’er was doing now.
After being tormented like that, Lami’er’s mental health was indeed quite worthy of concern.
It wouldn’t be good if, because of this incident, he developed some prejudice against Magic Engineering students in the future.
The Dean of the Magitech Institute might come after him then.
He hoped Lami’er was doing well.
“Since the Examination is over, what do you plan to do next?”
Isabella looked back, hesitated for a moment, and asked.
Ailundun observed her carefully for a bit.
Isabella seemed to have calmed down, regaining the unique bearing of a Princess.
“I haven’t decided yet. I’ll just look around here for now.”
Ailundun shook his head.
“I need to go handle the follow-up matters regarding Teacher Lami’er…”
Leisha hesitated briefly before mentioning something she was concerned about.
“After an incident like this, I will go ask the Principal and the others for a clear explanation.”
“Alright…”
Ailundun nodded, then smiled at Leisha.
“Give my regards to the Principal and the others for me.”
“No problem.”
Leisha nodded.
“Take care, Leisha.”
Isabella had no objections either.
She nodded to Leisha, allowing her to leave first.
“Yes, Your Highness.”
Leisha nodded to Isabella, her expression somewhat complicated.
This incident had made her realize her own weakness.
If she encountered an enemy like Lami’er again in the future, could she really protect Her Highness the Princess?
“And you, Lei Lei?”
Ailundun turned his head and smiled at Luofulei.
Luofulei’s light blue hair swayed as she faced Ailundun.
Her face was as expressionless as ever, but the unrest in her eyes betrayed her inner feelings.
What had happened this time exceeded her expectations.
“I need to go report to the Female Dormitory first. After I’m registered, I’ll see you later.”
She said hesitantly.
“Alright, be careful on your way.”
Ailundun replied.
“Until next time, Miss Luofulei. Your and Mr. Ailundun’s performance in the Secret Realm was truly remarkable…”
Isabella said with a soft smile, her light golden hair falling behind her.
“Mhm…”
Luofulei nodded calmly, but then remembered something and looked at Isabella with a strange expression.
Isabella, however, didn’t notice and simply returned a friendly smile.
“Shall I escort you, Your Highness?”
Ailundun looked at Isabella.
“That would be fine.”
“…”
