Hua Yanyun speculated that the Mystic Soul Pure Sound Physique itself was more likely to be the reason for such strong recovery ability. Although she did not know that He Shu’s special constitution prevented her from cultivating her physical body, she could more or less guess it.
“Most of the historical records regarding Profound Sound Immortal Lord have been lost to the river of time. Still, quite a few useful clues can be unearthed from what remains.”
“Cha Yuan cultivated the sound dao just like He Wanyi, and he almost never trained his physical body either.”
“However, since the Mystic Soul Pure Sound Physique is one of the Eleven Supreme Physiques, it isn’t strange for it to possess recovery power far beyond that of ordinary people.”
The Heavenly Dao’s Eleven Supreme Physiques had very few records. Many people only knew that eleven types existed, but they had no idea what characteristics each physique possessed.
The most widely known among the Eleven Supreme Physiques were the Great Dream Splendor, Jade Light Glazed Ice, Pure Affinity Supreme Yin, and Flourishing Flowers Full Lotus.
Each supreme physique was extremely rare, appearing only once in ten thousand years. Those who possessed them were all unparalleled geniuses.
Take Cha Yuan, known as Profound Sound Immortal Lord, for example. His three famous compositions were all grand and majestic, capable of shaking mountains and rivers. With only Void Refinement cultivation, he had been able to fight a Body Integration expert alone.
“After Cha Yuan failed to break through to Body Integration and died, he left behind three true inheritances. They were his three most famous songs: Solitary Wild Goose Moon, which he composed while traveling the world in his early years, Jade Pass, sung when he achieved Nascent Soul and shed his mortal form in middle age, and Silence of a Thousand Mountains, composed after experiencing all the vicissitudes of life before his death.”
After pondering for more than half an hour, Hua Yanyun stood up from the pool while still holding He Shu. After dressing herself, she teleported directly to He Shu’s room on the top floor of Wanyi Tower.
She opened the cage and casually tossed the person in her arms inside before leaving without looking back—exactly like a scumbag who walks away after pulling up her pants.
The bottom of the cage was also made of profound steel. With only a thin cushion and a single thin blanket on top, there was no buffer at all. He Shu hit the bottom with a painful expression and let out an unconscious groan, curling her body tightly.
She remained lying on the floor, unconscious, until noon the next day when she slowly woke up.
Letting out a few unconscious whimpers, He Shu opened her tired eyes and sat up.
She was back in the cage again. He Shu felt a wave of oppression in her heart. She didn’t need to guess to know that Hua Yanyun had thrown her back in here after last night.
She immediately checked her injuries. The first thing she noticed was a not-too-large bruise on her left forearm and the red mark around her wrist.
The purplish bruise stood out glaringly against her fair skin, like an impurity in a piece of jade, ruining the overall beauty.
After experiencing the first half month, injuries of this degree were no longer difficult for He Shu to endure.
With her self-recovery ability, they would mostly disappear within three days at most.
Whether Hua Yanyun would add new marks to her body during this period, however, was another matter entirely.
Standing up, she steadied her slightly shaky arm and walked out of the cage. He Shu put on her slippers and prepared to open the door.
Judging from the light outside the window, it was already afternoon. The fact that she had been lying on the floor this whole time proved that Mu Xinlian had not come to her room during this period.
He Shu felt puzzled. Given Mu Xinlian’s personality, even if she wouldn’t disturb her while she was unconscious, she would at least have covered her with a blanket.
Could it be that after sending her out yesterday to order clothes in the immortal city, she still hadn’t returned? That shouldn’t be the case.
Logically speaking, ordering clothes shouldn’t take that long, but Mu Xinlian had been gone for so long that He Shu couldn’t help but worry.
With this concern in mind, He Shu tried to push open the door, but it wouldn’t budge at all.
At that moment, a voice entered her ears: “Little one, you were quite disobedient yesterday, sneaking out of your room on your own. As punishment, this monarch has placed a restriction on your room’s door. From now on, only others can open it. No matter how hard you push from inside, it will remain completely still.”
He Shu instinctively turned around, but she did not see Hua Yanyun’s figure. She realized it was a message left behind by Hua Yanyun.
“Damn old witch. But this loophole is way too obvious. Can’t I just walk out when someone else opens the door?”
Her contempt for Hua Yanyun grew even stronger. He Shu lay back down inside the cage, hugging a pillow between her legs. The cool sensation of the pillow brought her a strong feeling of comfort.
She closed her eyes and lay there, her thoughts drifting.
Less than half an hour later, the room door was pushed open. Mu Xinlian walked in carrying a food box.
“Little Mu, why are you so late today?”
He Shu asked without any accusatory tone, but Mu Xinlian’s movements clearly stiffened.
“I… ran into some trouble on the way back, so I was delayed a little.”
She hid her hands behind her back, her eyes avoiding He Shu’s gaze.
Noticing that something was clearly off with Mu Xinlian’s expression, He Shu pressed further. “What happened? Don’t hide anything from me.”
“Young Miss, I’m really fine. Thank you for your concern.”
Seeing that Mu Xinlian still refused to tell the truth, He Shu walked up to her and took her hand.
“What happened to your hand? Are you injured?”
Mu Xinlian’s hand had clear scrapes and bruises. He Shu saw them and asked for the reason.
Unable to hold out against He Shu, Mu Xinlian finally revealed what had happened.
It turned out that on her way back, she had encountered several of Hua Yanyun’s concubines who were strolling near Wanyi Tower.
“They were badmouthing Young Miss, and I couldn’t stand it, so I argued with them. Then… I got beaten by them…”
Her voice grew smaller and smaller. Mu Xinlian didn’t dare meet He Shu’s eyes.
He Shu could only comfort her. She very much wanted to stand up for Mu Xinlian, but she simply didn’t have the strength to do so. All she could do was express that she was powerless to help.
