“This is your reward. You worked hard today, my Great Witch.”
Lin Lue watched her flustered reaction; it was truly amusing. He felt like he was becoming a connoisseur of entertainment.
He couldn’t be blamed, though. Who asked for such a strong contrast from Yuexue? Every time he managed to embarrass her, not only did he get a visual feast, but he also received a large number of rewards like Magic Power Points.
He had already won.
Yuexue let out a low whimper, the tips of her ears red enough to bleed. She dared not look at Lin Lue again, turned, and ran, stumbling a few times in her panic.
Lin Lue watched her retreating back, raised his hand, and stretched. The delicious Miss Yuexue was gone, but he had “feasted” all day.
What a pleasant day it was.
Lin Lue felt the magic power surging within his body, flowing through his limbs and all his apertures, giving him the illusion that he could conquer this world!
Lin Lue punched the wall next to him in excitement!
A tiny bit of dust fell.
Expressionless, Lin Lue withdrew his hand and hid it behind his back, trembling slightly.
He had encountered a max-level wall. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t defeat it!
His passionate fantasy was shattered; the hard, unyielding wall elbowed him back into cold reality.
‘Keep developing. Don’t get cocky.’
“Alright, time to go home… Wait!”
Before Lin Lue could finish his sentence, his face stiffened as he remembered something important.
He quickly walked into a nearby alley. Alone, he raised his hand and tore open a small Spatial Rift, pulling a large cardboard box from inside.
He opened it. Lin Lue, bent over, looked at the Blonde-haired Little Loli inside, who was sleeping soundly with her thumb in her mouth.
Lin Lue fell silent.
‘Damn it. I forgot to dump this little girl on Yuexue.’
‘Do I take her back?’
Then, when he got home, how would he explain to his sister, Lin Xue’er, that he went out for a walk and happened to pick up a lost Blonde-haired Little Loli?
Lin Lue gently closed the box, held it in his arms, and stood there with a face full of worry, feeling a headache coming on.
“What am I supposed to do with you?”
He had risked his life to save this little girl from the cultists. Now, just throw her somewhere and let her fend for herself? Lin Lue felt that wasn’t right; he felt like he would be losing out.

Lin Lue: ???
‘Slander! This is slander! I don’t want to enslave a one-meter-something blonde, barefoot little girl!’
‘But… fine.’
‘Spit out those Magic Power Points.’
—
The weather suddenly changed. In an instant, the sky was covered with dark clouds, and a torrential downpour fell.
At a street-side stall.
Lin Lue found an empty seat to sit and wait out the rain. Watching the scene of thunder and lightning outside, he wondered in his heart if a couple of Witches were fighting.
“How dare you ignore me?!”
Slap!
A small, fair foot stomped onto the table, its pressure turning the jade-like toes bloodshot and pink.
Lin Lue withdrew his gaze and looked at the arrogant Blonde-haired Little Loli in front of him, his face expressionless.
She had her hands on her little hips, staring at him with her drenched, vivid red eyes, locking gazes.
Her cheeks were puffed out slightly, like a little pufferfish.
This little loli was the one he had hidden in the cardboard box. After waking up, not only was she not scared, she had actually latched onto him.
“Hey, man, you’re lucky to take me in, you know that? Normally, I wouldn’t even agree to someone taking me in!”
The little loli raised her fair chin, her soft, sticky voice full of arrogance. Even dressed in a simple plain dress, she was quite cute, carved from jade.
Her skin was so tender it felt like pinching it would make water drip.
The Lower District couldn’t raise someone so delicate.
“Little lolis aren’t allowed on the table to eat.”
Lin Lue reached out, grabbed her soft little foot, and put it down from the table.
He lifted her off the table and set her on the chair beside him, ignoring her furious, faux-ferocious flailing.
“Compared to now, I prefer how you were earlier, on the stage, crying in fear. You’re cuter like that.”
The little loli bristled instantly, her face flushed red. Fuming, she waved her little fists and pounded on Lin Lue’s arm, shouting, “Bad guy! You bad guy!”
“Don’t you dare say I was scared! I wasn’t scared at all!”
Watching her glossy, jelly-like mouth, he hadn’t expected her to be this stubborn.
Her strength was pitifully small. Beating on Lin Lue was like being tickled; utterly harmless.
Lin Lue indicated his HP was -0.
‘Not a scratch.’
Lin Lue ordered a glass of juice. When it arrived, he stuck the straw into her little mouth.
Ye Beiming instinctively took a sip. The sweet, clear juice spread in her mouth, and the taste was fantastic. Her eyes instantly lit up.
She obediently hugged the large juice cup, sucking it down in small sips, no longer making a fuss. She looked satisfied, swinging her delicate little white feet as she sat on the chair.
“Even though you’re a pervert who likes to watch little girls cry, I’ll forgive you… for the juice.”
Lin Lue suddenly noticed his fists getting a bit hard. Did anyone have any ideas why?
Lin Lue watched her well-behaved appearance and softly asked her name. Even though he already knew her name from the System, he still had to keep up appearances.
The little loli answered indistinctly, saying her name was Ye Beiming.
Lin Lue also told her his name.
Lin Lue pressed on, asking where her home was.
She lowered her head and whispered that she had no home.
When he asked about her parents, she pursed her lips and said they were gone.
Lin Lue felt that thinking about this in the middle of the night would make him want to slap himself.
“So… can you take me in?”
Between the lines, it was obvious she wanted to latch onto Lin Lue. Lin Lue was stunned, confused. Although he had intended to do just that… shouldn’t he have been the one to bring it up?
Lin Lue watched her pitiful yet stubborn look and deliberately teased her. “Are you that eager to come home with me? Aren’t you afraid I’m a bad guy who will do bad, bad things to you?”
As he spoke, he even deliberately raised his hand, made a grabbing motion, and let out a sinister chuckle.
Ye Beiming spat out the straw, looked Lin Lue up and down, a contemptuous sneer appearing on her childish little face. “Hmph.”
Lin Lue: ‘…’
That single contemptuous sound carried a significant amount of information, instantly making Lin Lue’s face burn red.
‘This little cocky brat needs some serious aerial suspension training!’
“Alright, stop pretending to be a bad guy. I saw through you a long time ago. You’re not a bad guy at all.”
Ye Beiming curled her lips, acting like an adult beyond her years.
“If you were a bad guy, you wouldn’t have saved me or kept me around this long. You would have already used me up, worn me out like a cup, and then thrown me into a street-side trash can with satisfaction.”
Her tone was so fierce it even made Lin Lue sweat a little.
“You just want a reward, don’t you? Fine, I can’t do anything with you. Seeing how pitiful you are, I’ll reluctantly give you a little.”
Lin Lue: ?
As she spoke, Ye Beiming lifted her little foot again and thrust it in front of Lin Lue, speaking as if granting a boon. “Fine, I’ll let you perform the kiss-the-foot ceremony on me every morning. That’s a huge reward. I wouldn’t even give it to anyone else.”
Lin Lue: ‘…’
Watching her face that clearly said “you’re getting a great deal here,” her little upturned nose practically pointing to the sky.
Lin Lue took a deep breath.
“Are you a Witch?”
Ye Beiming was startled.
“Not yet? Why are you asking that?”
Lin Lue smiled benevolently.
“If you were a Witch, I wouldn’t pick a fight with you for being this cocky. But now, you’re not a Witch. I can lift you with one hand and shake you like a waist drum. So… are you ready?”
