The King of the Dragon God Kingdom is giving himself a reward?
I wonder what he’ll give her.
“It was just a small matter. Don’t worry about it. Since Tiamat has made it home safely, I’ll take my leave now.”
Yuriko waved her hand.
The taxi was still waiting behind her, so she couldn’t stay here too long.
“I wish you a safe return journey.” Raine bowed to Yuriko.
“Thank you… Tiamat, I’ll see you at the Academy.”
Yuriko said to Longyu beside her.
Longyu stepped out from behind Yuriko, knowing she was about to leave.
She didn’t say goodbye but kept holding onto Yuriko’s hand.
“But we haven’t paid you yet. We promised to give you money.”
Yuriko gently removed Longyu’s hand from her sleeve.
She wasn’t really interested in money.
The income from the Gang’s shops was enough for her to spend freely, as long as she didn’t buy luxury items carelessly.
“Talking about money is so formal. Besides, didn’t I say from the start that I wouldn’t take your money?”
“Hmm…”
“The taxi driver is still waiting for me, so I won’t stay long. I’ll see you on Monday.”
Yuriko waved at Longyu, who reluctantly raised her hand in farewell.
Taking the taxi home, as soon as Yuriko opened the door, she heard a pleasant voice complaining.
“Why are you back so late? Where’s my grilled fish and barbecue?”
Yuriko glanced at the clock.
It was just before six when she ran into Longyu, but now it was past seven in the evening.
“Oh no!”
Yuriko held up the completely cold grilled fish and said apologetically to the Phantom on the sofa.
“Well, something came up on the way back. I was planning to buy you barbecue, but after all the commotion, I forgot.”
“So not only did you come home late, but you also forgot about me? You left me longing for dinner and starving all this time?”
The Phantom clutched her empty stomach, her voice sounding less than friendly.
“Uh, well… Is it too late for me to go buy it now?”
“Too late!”
The Phantom lunged at her like a ghost, clinging to Yuriko and nearly knocking her over.
“Whoa! Don’t bite me! I really didn’t forget on purpose! I’ll order takeout for you! I’ll order barbecue!”
After struggling to peel the Phantom off herself, Yuriko handed over her phone and let her place the order herself.
Only then did the Phantom let her go, lying on the sofa to pick out dinner.
Yuriko sat nearby, rubbing her shoulder, feeling like the Phantom had almost bitten through her skin.
Yuriko pulled open her collar and checked her skin, only relaxing after confirming there was no bleeding.
“Seriously, bite softer.”
“That’s the price for breaking your promise, meow.”
The Phantom finished ordering dinner, and suddenly the phone in her arms rang.
She rolled over and handed the phone back to Yuriko.
“Your call.”
Yuriko took the phone.
The incoming number was unfamiliar.
“Never seen this before. Spam call?”
Yuriko answered, planning to listen to what the other side had to say first.
After two seconds, a soft, adorable voice came through.
“Hello?”
“This voice… Is it Tiamat?”
“It’s me! Looks like I got it right, this is Ruri’s number!”
Longyu’s voice was lively.
It seemed she hadn’t been too down after their separation, despite the threat of being reported.
Yuriko wanted to ask how she got her number, but then she thought about it.
The other party was a princess of a country, so finding out her phone number would be easy.
“It’s so late, Tiamat. Is there something you need?”
“Oh, right. After you left, Raine made me explain everything that happened today. She said we absolutely had to pay you back the money we owe you. So I sent you that thing called…”
Longyu paused mid-sentence until a prompting voice came from the other end.
“Your Highness, it’s a friend request.”
“Right, friend request! I had a maid buy me a phone and registered an account. I’ll use that account to pay you back.”
Yuriko opened her chat app and sure enough, there was a friend request.
[Tiamat·Longyu has sent you a friend request. Do you accept?]
She used her real name as her username?
And her profile picture was a photo of Longyu herself, looking quite cute.
Yuriko wondered who took it.
“I’ve already accepted your request.”
“Oh, okay. Let’s leave it at that for now. I need to figure out how to transfer money on my phone. I’ll hang up now.”
Longyu hung up, sent Yuriko a small message, and after fiddling around for a few minutes, finally transferred five hundred yuan to her.
Longyu: “I’ve learned how to transfer money!”
Yuriko: “Mm-hmm, Tiamat is so smart~”
Longyu: “Just call me Longyu. After all, you’re practically my benefactor.”
Yuriko stared at Longyu’s message.
She felt like she wasn’t dealing with someone her own age, but rather a little sister many years younger.
The Phantom leaned close to Yuriko and asked, “So the sudden situation was running into her?”
“Yeah, I bumped into her while I was buying your barbecue. I didn’t expect her to be the princess of the Dragon God Kingdom. She’s a bit ditzy, easy to trick.”
“Did you trick her?”
“Ahem, don’t make me sound like some kind of weird pervert.”
It was Longyu’s first time using a phone to chat, and she was clearly excited.
She talked with Yuriko on the chat app for a long time, finally stopping only when she had to shower.
Had I never noticed she was this talkative before?
Was it because she was always too focused on eating to have time to chat?
Whatever, I’ll think about it later.
I have school tomorrow.
Better wash up and go to sleep early.

Arriving at the Academy as usual, greeting classmates along the way, Yuriko entered the classroom.
“Mira! I haven’t seen you in so long! I missed you so much!”
Yuriko sat down and immediately leaned over to Carmilla, wrapping her arm around hers and acting spoiled.
“It was only a weekend. Weren’t we chatting on our phones?”
Carmilla let Yuriko hold her arm.
Though her words seemed indifferent, she was absolutely thrilled when Yuriko cuddled up to her.
If she had a tail, it would definitely be sticking straight up in the air right now.
“Hehe~ Getting all lovey-dovey first thing in the morning. You two aren’t really a thing, are you?”
Yuri entered the classroom and saw the two of them cuddled together.
She shook her head, lamenting the declining moral standards of the times, then sat down at her seat.
“We’re just close friends. Who says close friends can’t hold arms~”
Normally, Yuriko wouldn’t make such girlish gestures as holding someone’s arm.
But after a weekend apart, she felt an increasing urge to be close to Carmilla.
With so many eyes in the classroom, holding her arm would have to do.
