“Huh? A spar?!”
‘Me, fight the Heaven’s Chosen Female Protagonist? Is that for real?’
The silver dragon girl shook her head frantically like a rattle-drum, forming a giant “X” with her hands in front of her chest as she backed away repeatedly.
Apparently Lucia had heard her muttering and voluntarily offered to help her with practical combat training.
‘But, what a silver dragon joke! Fight the Heaven’s Chosen Female Protagonist? She’s the true favored child of heaven! The female protagonist of this world, while myself? Just a newborn silver dragon who’s only been born for half a month at most, a cannon fodder villain. This is no spar—this is clearly one-sided bullying.’
Seeing Selina’s resistance, Lucia stopped speaking. She slightly lowered her golden eyes, her long eyelashes casting a pitiful shadow under the moonlight, like a moon goddess, exuding a heart-wrenching fragility.
“I see… That’s really disappointing.”
Lucia sighed softly. “Actually, a few days ago, I ran into Young Master Lorin of the Mosart Ducal House.”
‘Lo…Lorin?!’
Hearing that name, Selina’s whole body stiffened, her heart instantly leaping to her throat. Fortunately, Lucia didn’t notice her anomaly and continued in that plaintive tone.
“I heard from Young Master Lorin that Miss Selina was very grateful for my help last time in the Mist Forest. I was really happy back then. I really thought that after going through life and death together, we had a tacit understanding and could be good friends who help each other~”
Saying this, Lucia slowly raised her head. Those golden phoenix eyes stared straight into Selina’s panicked eyes.
“It seems I really was overthinking. Miss Selina probably doesn’t want to bother with someone who’s delusional like me, right? Yeah, after all, I’m just a commoner. How could I possibly be worthy of associating with the noble Miss Selina…”
The silver-haired fairy lady’s words struck her heart hard.
What kind of character was she? The type that yields to softness but not toughness! Besides, to tell the truth, with Lucia’s strength, did she even need training to pass Sera Academy’s assessment? She was clearly trying to help her train without making her feel burdened.
More importantly, she had a vague feeling deep inside that if she ran away here, she would never be able to catch up to Lucia’s shadow. Running was more shameful than failure.
Selina took a deep breath of the cool night breeze and rubbed her smooth silver hair.
“Ah… fine, fine! I’m really scared of you! I agree, okay!”
“But let’s get this straight: since it’s a spar, we go all out. Don’t hold back just for me!” Even if her strength might not match Lucia’s, the silver dragon girl had her pride.
Hearing that Selina had finally relented, the gloom in Lucia’s eyes vanished instantly, replaced by a sly, cunning smile.
“Of course, Miss Selina. The best respect for an opponent is to go all out.”
Meanwhile, in the dimensional space of the ring, Lilith, who had been watching the VIP show from start to finish, was about to ascend on the spot.
“The only human in history to rival the gods as a mortal, the imperial descendant of the Karia Empire, who conquered all apex species with an iron fist and nearly unified the entire continent!”
“Versus—the current strongest apex species on the continent, the royalty of the Dragon Race!”
Lilith’s eyes sparkled with excitement, her small hands clenched into fists, and her breathing grew rapid.
This was a destined showdown that would make anyone’s blood boil even if written into history books!
‘Fight! Fight now! Little girl from the Karia family, don’t go easy on her just because she’s small! Pull her hair! Tear off her tacky clothes! Beat her up good!’
Lilith wished she could conjure a bucket of popcorn and a soda on the spot. She stared wide-eyed, fixed on the two who were already poised for action.
This trip tonight was a total jackpot! Even if she died, it would be worth the price of admission. This was way too entertaining!
‘Go for it, Lady Lucia! Teach that arrogant trash lizard a lesson!’
On the open ground under the night sky, the night wind carried a hint of coolness across their cheeks.
“Then, please attack first, Miss Selina.”
Lucia stepped back half a pace and made an elegant “after you” gesture.
“Hmph, let me state this again: you’re the challenger! Don’t think I’ll go easy on you!”
Selina pumped herself up inwardly. Then, the soil beneath her feet crashed as she stomped a shallow pit into it!
Her petite body shot out like a silver arrow from the string. Relying on dragon race strength, her fist shot straight at Lucia with a piercing sonic boom.
Bang—!
The intense collision exploded loudly in the open space.
Selina’s full-powered punch was easily caught by the girl before her. As expected, the Heaven’s Chosen Female Protagonist was strong—frighteningly strong.
She quickly created distance, adjusted her breathing, and continued attacking Lucia. But her storm of attacks seemed to hit cotton; her originally powerful fists now felt like they were submerged in water, unable to exert force.
“Not bad strength. Miss Selina has improved a lot since our last meeting in the Mist Forest.” Lucia slightly tilted her head, a hint of appreciation flashing in her eyes as she even offered a comment.
“But sometimes, greater strength isn’t everything!” Then, Lucia took advantage of her grip on Selina’s fist, locked her fingers, and firmly secured her slender wrist, rendering her immobile.
“Less talk! Take this!”
Since her right hand was caught, Selina simply switched to continuous magical attacks. Her petite body danced in the air! The water elements in the surrounding air instantly condensed into an ice sword.
Using the rotational force of her body, she accelerated the swing of the ice sword and struck the hilt at Lucia.
‘Got her!’
A flash of triumph flickered in Selina’s ice-blue eyes.
‘At this close range! If she wants to dodge my slash, she has to let go of my right hand! But as soon as she lets go, I can create distance and continue my pursuit!’
However, the newborn silver dragon girl had underestimated her opponent after all. Facing the swift slash right in front of her, the silver-haired fairy lady not only did not let go and retreat, but a faint smile curled at the corner of her mouth. Her narrow eyes narrowed slightly.
“Wind Wall.”
Crash—Boom!
Selina instantly felt as if she had hit an invisible wall. In an instant, ice and wind elements collided violently in the air.
Before she could react, Lucia raised her hand, and a cyan storm erupted, sending the silver dragon girl spinning into the air before flinging her away like a ragdoll! She crashed heavily into a dead tree at the edge, shaking off all the snow from the branches, before sliding disgracefully to the ground while clutching her chest.
“Cough, cough…”
Selina winced in pain and raised her head from the snow pile.
Not far away, under the moonlight, the night wind ruffled Lucia’s platinum blonde hair. She stood there like a valiant female warrior. Those golden eyes were like two blazing suns in the night, exuding a terrifying pressure.
