Reinmute returned quickly.
He said he was going out to buy something, but when he came back, he was only holding a book.
After returning, he sat directly at the dining table, looked at the sumptuous dishes in front of him, and nodded with satisfaction.
He handed the book to Raphael.
“What… is this?”
She asked curiously, but Reinmute didn’t answer her.
He just happily ate the meal before him.
‘A little annoyed, but Raphael didn’t dare show it.’
She picked up the book.
A string of large characters was printed on the cover.
Advanced Maid Education: From Basics to All-round
She glanced at the table of contents.
There were four chapters in total:
Volume 1: Introductory Etiquette for Maids
Volume 2: A Maid’s Self-Cultivation
Volume 3: On How to Become a Qualified Maid
But when she saw the title of the fourth volume, Raphael couldn’t help but freeze.
Because that volume was called:
On the 101 Postures of a Maid Serving Her Master
Her violet eyes widened slightly.
Her gaze darted back and forth between Reinmute and the book.
Reinmute noticed Raphael’s scrutinizing look, raised his head to meet her eyes, and spoke with a smile.
“As my future maid, serving your master is a required course for you. I specially borrowed this book from my friend, so don’t disappoint my expectations.”
Raphael could only respond.
“Yes… I understand, Master.”
The hunger in her stomach grew stronger.
She was a bit afraid to ask, but she still forced the question out.
“Master… may I have something to eat?”
Reinmute nodded and gestured for her to sit beside him.
Seeing his agreement, Raphael immediately happily stood beside Reinmute, filled herself a bowl of rice, and was about to start eating.
“Why aren’t you sitting down to eat? Isn’t it tiring to eat standing up?”
Reinmute asked knowingly, still smiling cheerfully at Raphael.
Raphael couldn’t help but feel a little irritated.
It was because of him that she couldn’t sit down.
If it weren’t for this perverted Sword Saint spanking her bottom, how could she not even be able to sit?
The not-so-pleasant meal time ended quickly.
“This is the room you’ll be staying in for now. The other one hasn’t been cleared out yet.”
Reinmute couldn’t help but smile at the dazed Raphael in front of him.
“Ah… I’m staying here?”
She looked around the room.
It was very cozy, with the entire room covered in pink wallpaper.
The room had a vanity, a dressing area, and everything else one could need.
This room was probably more than twice the size of Reinmute’s own room.
As a maid, living better than her master seemed a bit backwards.
“You’ll stay here for now. My sister isn’t here at the moment, and the guest room is still piled with clutter.”
Reinmute looked at the girl in front of him with satisfaction.
After spending a day with this girl,
he felt that although she seemed clever, she was actually quite an airhead—the kind who would get tricked into counting money for someone else after being sold.
Well, that was indeed the case.
He had tricked her into signing an indenture contract.
Thinking about it like that, he really was a terrible person.
Kidnapping an innocent girl was punishable by at least five years under Imperial Law.
“Get some rest early. I hope to see a change in you during this time, Master.”
Then he pushed the door and left the room.
Before leaving, he glanced back at Raphael, who was still standing there stunned.
“Ugh… so tired.”
Raphael flopped onto the bed like a lump of mud.
She picked up the book Advanced Maid Education: From Basics to All-round and started reading.
After an hour, she rubbed her sore eyes.
“So being a maid is this troublesome… sigh.”
She, a former high-ranking executive under the Demon King, had never done this kind of work before.
But times had changed.
Now she was just a weak, defenseless Demon Race girl.
A Demon Race living in human society.
In short, having someone to rely on would make things easier for her.
Besides, this person was the Sword Saint.
Even though he was a bit perverted and twisted, at least it was safer than before.
Come to think of it, he had saved her.
Otherwise, she would probably have been ruined by those men by now.
Should she repay the favor?
She had already skimmed through the contents of the book.
From greeting the master in the morning and calling him to meals, to all sorts of complicated etiquette later on.
She mentally simulated tomorrow morning’s routine, picked up the alarm clock by the bedside, and set it for around six o’clock.
She took off her small leather shoes and placed them at the foot of the bed, then removed her clothes.
Looking at her underwear, she couldn’t help but blush slightly.
Her body was really quite attractive.
At least, attractive to herself.
She turned off the room’s light and went to sleep.
For some reason, she didn’t sleep very soundly.
She woke up once in the middle of the night, feeling like something had grabbed her foot.
She thought it was a mosquito and went back to sleep.
But… winter was almost here. Where would mosquitoes come from?
—
The moon soon set.
As the sun rose, the alarm clock in the room went off.
Ring ring ring~
“Ugh… so comfortable. I want to sleep a little more.”
She reluctantly got up and stretched.
Her slender waist and the slight curve were extremely tempting.
She picked up the maid outfit from the bedside and put it on.
Her fair little feet slipped into the small leather shoes.
The small leather shoes made a click-clack sound on the floor.
She went to the bathroom, washed her face, and returned to the room.
Sitting in front of the vanity mirror, she tidied up her hair, which was a bit messy from a night’s sleep.
A beautiful maid appeared in the mirror.
“Umm… where do I start? The book said I should prepare breakfast first, right?”
Raphael came out of the room, opened the refrigerator, and took out a few ingredients.
Bacon and eggs, and also a few slices of bread.
A little while later, she neatly arranged several slices of bread, fried eggs, and bacon on a plate.
“Ah… isn’t something missing?”
She recalled the contents of the book in her mind.
It seemed that the dining environment needed some atmosphere.
“Ah, atmosphere? What counts as atmosphere?”
She looked at the table.
Besides the two breakfasts she had just made and the utensils, there was nothing else.
It seemed she still needed to study that book more.
She walked to Reinmute’s door, gently knocked three times, and called out.
“Master, time to get up. Breakfast is ready.”
There was no response from the room for a long time, so she simply sat down on the sofa, picked up the book, and continued studying the way of the maid.
Several hours passed like this.
She had finished reading the first volume.
Raphael felt she had understood how to be a good maid.
She looked up at the clock on the wall, frowned slightly, and glanced at the breakfast that had long gone cold.
She sighed softly, sat down at the table, and was about to eat her own portion.
Just as she took a bite of the fried egg, Reinmute’s door was pushed open.
“Yo… good morning, Raphael. I’m exhausted.”
Raphael quickly stood up from her chair, struck a standard maid’s bow, put on a sweet smile, and said in a sugary voice.
“Good afternoon, Master. Would you like lunch first, or would you like to have me first?”
Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Reinmute’s current state.
There were dark circles around his eyes, and he kept yawning.
The words made Reinmute jolt with shock as he stared at her in disbelief.
“Wait, where did you learn that from?”
Raphael answered honestly.
“I learned it from the book you gave me, Master. Is there something wrong?”
“No… nothing.”
Clearly, our innocent Miss Raphael had no idea what those words meant.
She was just imitating what the book taught.
