“Heh heh heh, fine, fine, Lorin! Fine, Miss Silver Dragon!”
“Fine my ass! Can’t you see I’ve fallen flat on the ground? My pretty little dress is torn too!”
Here it comes. If it weren’t for the fact that a shadow had no tears, she would have been sobbing by now.
This was the first dress that belonged to her alone. She was supposed to wear it and do lots and lots of fun things, but now it had all been ruined by this wicked dragon!
“Ah, I’m sorry, Alice! I just wanted to take out those cultists’ minions first so we could retreat safely!”
“You think, you think—you’re so stupid, do you even know that?”
“Alice” huffed and clenched her little fist, pounding it hard against the little silver dragon’s head.
So, was Lady Shadow completely giving up on her plan and just throwing caution to the wind?
Of course not. Watch and learn, you tsundere—this is how Lady Shadow operates!
The force of the punch, the timing, that expression of a girl who was angry yet shy because she wasn’t the first one to be cared about—every single detail was spot on.
Even though losing the dress hurt, seeing this big stupid dragon cover her head and dare not fight back made it all worth it.
She couldn’t help but reach out and pat Selina—the little silver dragon’s head. It was fluffy, with silvery-white hair that was soft and silky, cool to the touch, carrying a pleasant fragrance of cold roses.
Pat once, then pat again. Hehehe, can Alice do that?
Selina’s hair was tousled messily by the girl’s hands, with a few stubborn cowlicks sticking up.
After a moment, Selina shook her head and grabbed her hand with a serious expression.
“Alice, stop messing around. This place is dangerous. Let’s find a safe spot to rest first!”
“Oh~ but why should I trust you? Miss Silver Dragon, who nearly ran me through headfirst! Or wait, do we actually know each other?”
Selina’s ice-blue eyes couldn’t help but start darting away the moment they met Alice’s gaze.
You’ve got to be kidding. A mere silver dragon was, at the end of the day, just a girl who had never been in love. She only needed to pull a small trick to drag her back onto her own rhythm.
After all, in the real Alice’s mind, the last time she met Selina was during that passionate battle at the inn during the exam, right?
Look at this silver dragon, face flushed red, looking like she wanted to say something but couldn’t get the words out!
Hehehe, it’s back. That feeling of controlling the rhythm is all back.
She gently bent down, letting her gown accentuate the fullness of her chest even more alluringly.
Then Alice narrowed her peach blossom eyes and locked gazes with the evasive Selina.
She smiled and gently pinched her cheek, watching the little silver dragon panic, and couldn’t help but burst into laughter, like the peach blossoms blooming across the mountains in April.
“You’re still just as spacey as always, aren’t you~?”
“I, I, I!”
Alice was getting closer and closer, and Selina’s little head was spinning at full speed. With so much happening all at once today, she was having a bit of a brain freeze.
At first, all she thought about was saving Alice, saving Alice, and nothing else. Now that Alice was right in front of her, she didn’t know what to say at all. There was a feeling of being choked up, unable to speak.
“Honestly, you can’t be wishy-washy when answering a girl’s question. Tell you what, I’ll give you three seconds to think!”
With that, Alice playfully raised her fingers and began counting down.
“I, I, I’m Lorin!”
“Of course I know you’re a silly little loli. That’s not what I want to hear!”
Alice’s slender finger moved down one more, gently pressing against Selina’s trembling lips.
“You’ve got one second left. If you don’t say it, I’m going to get mad!”
Just as that last finger was about to press down, under the immense tension, Selina’s little mouth finally opened.
“I’m sorry, Alice. I’m Lorin. I was always afraid that if I told you, you’d get angry and hate me. I’m sorry for keeping it from you all this time!”
I said it. I finally said it.
Selina hung her head, tense like a criminal awaiting judgment, while the girl before her was the judge holding her life in her hands.
One second, two seconds, and the girl before her still hadn’t spoken.
It was so quiet around her that she could clearly hear her own heart pounding.
Even though she had rehearsed it countless times in her mind, facing her important childhood friend for real still made her unbearably anxious.
She was afraid of hearing Alice’s angry voice, afraid of Alice’s disappointed gaze. Right now, she didn’t even have the courage to open her eyes.
But the scolding and anger she imagined never came. All she felt was a buzz in her head as the girl flicked her forehead.
“Bam!”
“Ow~ that hurts!”
Selina covered her slightly reddened forehead and finally looked up at the girl before her.
“You big dummy, Lorin, you big dummy!”
Alice’s cheeks puffed up as she stared at her, then pulled her tightly into her embrace.
“What, were you doubting me? Were you doubting that I’d hurt you?”
“No, it’s not that. I was just scared!”
“Oh, scared, huh! Then that just means you don’t trust me enough!”
Alice held on tighter and tighter, as if she wanted to knead the little silver dragon into her body. Even the two snowy peaks were squished flat by Selina’s head.
Then, at just the right moment, she pulled the dazed and dizzy Selina up, looked at her with those captivating peach blossom eyes, and pressed both hands on her head so she couldn’t run away, forcing her to stare straight back.
“What, you’ve got the guts to lie, but not the guts to look at me? Big stupid dragon!”
She pretended to speak with feigned anger, but the smile between her brows couldn’t be suppressed no matter what.
“I’m sorry… I really was wrong!”
“I was wrong!”
The streetlights along the road suddenly lit up one by one, and the converging river of light illuminated the silver dragon girl’s flushed little face.
She clenched her fists tightly, her toes curling against the ground, but this time she didn’t look away. Instead, she looked seriously at the girl before her with her own eyes.
The lamplight stretched her shadow long, long, and let Selina clearly see the girl’s smiling face.
“You big dummy. How could Alice Aksia ever be angry at Lorin Morsat!”
The stars in the night sky twinkled like a child’s eyes. The warm moon shone through the clouds onto the girls walking side by side, stirring the little boat of memories.
“So, Alice, when did you figure it out?”
Selina suddenly stopped, gently tugging at the girl’s skirt hem, and asked in a small voice.
“Oh~ you guess! Little dragon girl Lorin~”
“Aaaah, you’re teasing me again!”
“Stop it~”
Alice lowered her head, using her hand to hold down Selina, who kept swinging punches at the air, and couldn’t help but laugh.
Soon, the whole street was filled with the girls’ laughter and joy, but behind this warm scene was Lady Shadow’s merciless commentary.
Girl, do you even have an ABCD count?
And asking when she found out—did you dumbass even hide it? That’s when she found out!
I was about to die from holding in my laughter, okay. You dumbass, who comes home on time every single night and never shows up together with the little silver dragon, you didn’t really think you were hiding it well, did you!
You even used our childhood secret passage every time you snuck out of the Mossat Estate to play in the wild.
So, given that the one using the secret passage isn’t me, then who could the silver dragon coming out of it be?
So hard to guess!
Lady Shadow deduced Lorin’s true identity from Alice’s memories in zero minutes.
Oh come on, come on, surely no one actually can’t see it, right! Well, like, factory K really is in the middle of coming 2
