“These people are all insane.”
Yiluo Enya complained.
“I agree.”
“I’ve already thought of a plan.”
“First, let’s eliminate this Kasola guy.”
“I’m sick of the sight of him right now.”
Just then, Dean Weida shouted for everyone to gather, calling the students together.
“Alright, the one-hour break is over.”
“The event officially begins now!”
At the command, the whole crowd erupted in cheers, but before long, they all fell silent again.
“Right, it’s started.”
“Hurry up and send us to the event grounds.”
“What’s going on?”
“Come on, I’m ready to show off my skills.”
A few impatient Dragon Race members voiced their opinions.
Zhu Qiu also found it strange.
By all logic, the one-hour rest period was over, so the event should have officially begun.
Why were they all still standing together?
She couldn’t figure it out, and then suddenly, a thought crossed her mind.
‘This couldn’t be…’
“Everyone, the event has officially begun, but I never said everyone is qualified to participate.”
“So, let me tell you now: the prerequisite for joining is that you find a way to get down to the grounds we’ve prepared.”
“Don’t worry about accidentally stepping outside the grounds.”
“The venue is enormous, and the borders are lined with magical barriers, so rest assured.”
“Now, start showing off your skills!”
The moment those words were spoken, a small number of students who had reached the right age looked confident because they could transform into their Dragon Form and fly down swiftly without any trouble.
As for those Dragon Race members who had no one to help them, those who could use magic found their own way down, such as Wind Element Flight.
If their team had a member who could transform, they could simply ask that person to help carry them down together at the cost of a bit more stamina.
As for those who couldn’t transform into their Dragon Form, things weren’t so simple.
In the end, those who could neither fly nor get help had no choice but to leave.
About ten minutes later, the students who could go down had already gone down, and those who couldn’t had turned back and withdrawn from the event.
Now, on the vast grounds, only Dean Weida and a few mentors remained in their original spots.
Oh right, and Zhu Qiu and Yiluo Enya.
Seeing everyone else had gone down, Zhu Qiu was eager to try too.
“Yiluo Enya, let’s jump into the water like last time!”
The moment she said that, she grabbed Yiluo Enya’s hand.
“Don’t!”
“That’s too dangerous.”
“Let me handle it.”
Dean Weida watched the two of them pushing and shoving and couldn’t help but speak up.
“You two, if you haven’t figured out a safe way down, then just withdraw honestly.”
“After all, if you jump straight down and end up badly injured, you’ll be disqualified from the event anyway.”
“Don’t worry, Dean.”
“We’re going down right now.”
With that, Yiluo Enya began chanting magic.
“ALL THINGS HAVE SPIRIT: FLIGHT!”
The next second, a massive green dragonfly appeared in the center of the grounds.
To land safely, Yiluo Enya had to use more Magic Power to summon a stronger dragonfly, so its size was a bit bigger.
Before Yiluo Enya could speak, her Grass Element Mentor spoke up first.
“Truly worthy of being my student.”
“Not only did you fully understand all the theoretical knowledge I taught you in class, but you also explored deeper on your own.”
“Your teacher is truly proud of you.”
“Don’t worry about the idle chatter.”
She mounted the dragonfly and beckoned Zhu Qiu over.
“Zhu Qiu, let’s go.”
“Yay!”
This time, the dragonfly wasn’t as lacking in strength as last time, so they could finally land safely for once.
Yiluo Enya piloted the dragonfly from the front, while Zhu Qiu sat in the back cheering.
Although riding a dragonfly wasn’t as thrilling as riding Zhu Xiaxia’s big dragon, it was still pretty great.
“Zhu Qiu, we’re about to reach the ground.”
“We should pick a landing spot in advance.”
Zhu Qiu looked down at the forest and grassland clearly visible below.
Everywhere looked the same, as if landing anywhere wouldn’t make a difference.
“How about we just pick any spot?”
“Or find an open area.”
“We’re just picking up gold coins anyway, so an open area makes them easier to spot.”
However, Yiluo Enya felt Zhu Qiu’s unconsidered suggestion wasn’t very wise.
The two of them were very strong.
If they chose the center of the grounds, they’d definitely be surrounded by others.
If they won, they’d be first.
If they lost, well, that would be disastrous—dead last.
Besides, their team only had two people.
What if a dozen or so others ganged up on them?
That was also a problem.
To be safe, Yiluo Enya offered her own opinion.
“Huh?”
Zhu Qiu caught on to something.
“I remember you said you wanted to take out that provocative Dragon Race member first.”
“How about we find him, take him out first, and then hide?”
“I recall you said we’d deal with him before collecting coins.”
Yiluo Enya was stunned when she heard that.
“The whole field is packed with people right now.”
“I’m worried they’ll band together against us because we’re outnumbered.”
“So, how about we hide somewhere first, wait until they’ve fought it out a bit, and then go in to clean up?”
But it wasn’t like they had to fight over coins, right?
Settle personal grudges first.
‘Hehe~ That’s what you call nipping trouble in the bud.’
Zhu Qiu made a great point.
Sure, the event’s goal was coins, but…
Yiluo Enya broke into a cheerful smile.
“Yiluo Enya, so let’s go find him right now.”
“Okay!”
Yiluo Enya’s excitement kicked in.
She channeled more Magic Power into the dragonfly, allowing it to fly faster and longer.
Before long, they spotted some clues on the ground below.
By the time they arrived, they had already left the forest behind, replaced by a vast, boundless grassland.
Except this grassland was a bit strange.
It wasn’t the lush, vibrant green meadow one would expect, but rather a barren, empty stretch.
Sensing something was off, Yiluo Enya immediately stopped.
As an Elf, she was highly sensitive to plants.
All she had to do was go down and take a look, and she’d know what had happened here.
“Zhu Qiu, hold on a moment.”
“I found something.”
“Okay.”
Yiluo Enya got off the dragonfly.
Sure enough, when she saw the ground covered in scorch marks from fire, she immediately felt furious.
As an Elf, she couldn’t bear to see people recklessly destroy plants, let alone burn them outright.
She clenched her fists, her eyes turning fierce.
“Let’s follow this trail ahead and find that Fire Element Dragon as fast as we can.”
“I need to make sure he knows our power!”
Zhu Qiu understood as well.
“They burned all the grass on purpose to make the gold coins easier to spot, right?”
“Exactly.”
“Whatever his reasons, I just can’t stand people like them.”
