A sense of foreboding welled up from the depths of Mi Wenni’s heart.
“Sister, it sounds like someone’s fighting nearby. Judging by those explosions, they’re probably pretty strong.”
“Ah! Then let’s hurry up and run!”
“No! Sister, I have a better idea.”
“What idea?”
“Hehe~ We’ll wait until they’ve worn each other out, and then we’ll strike when the opportunity arises—the mantis stalks the cicada, unaware of the oriole behind!”
Hearing her sister’s suggestion, Mi Wenna suddenly felt as if a light bulb had gone off.
It made perfect sense.
“Sister, you’re so smart.”
“Of course, who do you think I am? I’m your big sister.”
Mi Wenni puffed out her chest with smug pride.
“Come on.”
She grabbed her younger sister Mi Wenna’s hand.
“Let’s sneak a little closer first, bide our time, and strike when they’ve just finished fighting and are at their weakest.”
“Okay!”
The two sisters began advancing toward the direction of the explosions.
When they felt they were getting close, they immediately dropped to the ground and crawled forward.
“Sister, keep quiet. Look, they’re right ahead.”
With that, both of their gazes turned toward the area ahead.
But because it was dark and the moon was shrouded by clouds, they couldn’t make out exactly who was fighting.
They could only guess blindly.
Meanwhile, Yiluo Enya was locked in a fierce battle with a group of humans—the squad led by Sote.
Yiluo Enya had been about to head back when she suddenly ran into this suspicious group of Human Race members on the way.
She knew she was the only student at this school besides the Dragon Race, so these humans had to be outsiders who had broken in.
Still, when Yiluo Enya spotted them, she initially planned to observe quietly first, assess whether they posed a threat, and then decide whether to make a move.
After all, they weren’t the targets of this activity, so they probably didn’t have any Gold Coins on them.
But that group had sharp eyes.
They spotted Yiluo Enya hiding in the grass almost immediately.
“Did you guys see that? Something’s moving in those bushes over there.”
Sote pointed at the thicket not far away, speaking to his teammates.
“Captain, I think I saw it too. Could it be a Dragon Race member?”
“Dragon Race?!”
The moment he heard there might be a Dragon Race member nearby, Sote’s excitement shot through the roof.
“Let’s go! We’ll capture her alive right now!”
With that, Sote rushed toward the spot where Yiluo Enya was hiding.
“Captain, wait for me!”
The others immediately followed suit.
Yiluo Enya, who had been hiding just fine, sensed that something was wrong and bolted.
But to her surprise, they were faster than her.
The gap between them was closing rapidly.
Yiluo Enya could feel their hostile intent.
A sense of crisis was descending upon her.
‘No, I need to think of something.’
“ALL THINGS HAVE SPIRIT · LIFE EVERLASTING!”
In an instant, the lush green grass beneath their feet began to grow wildly.
The grass became incredibly tough and stiff, putting up massive resistance in the path of Sote and his squad.
But on Yiluo Enya’s side, it was completely different.
The grass actively parted around her feet, clearing the way for her.
“These damn weeds!”
Sote swung his Magic Staff in frustration, hacking away at the grass blade by blade.
But the grass seemed to have a will of its own.
The more it was attacked, the tougher it became.
Seeing that her pursuers had slowed down, Yiluo Enya figured it was time to teach them a lesson.
‘You dare chase me? Do you even have the strength for that?’
“ALL THINGS HAVE SPIRIT · TRANSFORM!”
With Yiluo Enya’s command, the nature of the grass changed in an instant.
What had been plants was now transformed directly into sharp steel needles.
One team member wasn’t paying attention and stepped right onto the needle-like grass.
“Ahhh!!! Damn it—”
He let out a bloodcurdling scream and collapsed to the ground.
“Ahhh!!!”
But because the ground was covered in those needle-sharp blades, the moment he fell, his entire body was impaled on them.
“Ugh—”
Fortunately, the others, including Sote, managed to slam on the brakes and avoid the same fate of being pierced to death.
“Everyone, be careful! Something’s wrong here!”
Sote steadied himself first.
“Stay behind me! We’re going to capture that Dragon Race member alive!”
Just then, someone piped up.
“Captain, that runaway doesn’t seem to be a Dragon Race member.”
“Not a Dragon Race member?”
Sote was skeptical.
“How is that possible? On Dragon Kingdom territory, who else could it be besides the Dragon Race?”
“I’m serious. She doesn’t have any Dragon Race traits—no tail, no horns.”
“Captain…”
He pointed at the dying brother on the ground.
“How about we retreat for now? At least save him first.”
“Chase her down! Follow me!”
Sote barked harshly.
“He’s already dead! We’re avenging him!”
The moment he finished speaking, he raised his Magic Staff and kicked up a burst of Ice Blocks across the ground.
The grass was instantly frozen solid, forming an ice path for them to walk on.
“Go! Move out!”
Sote began skating forward, extending the ice trail as he went.
The others immediately followed suit.
Yiluo Enya thought the danger had passed and paused to catch her breath.
But Sote had already caught up.
“Take this! METEOR ICE SPELL!”
A massive Ice Block that had been charging up appeared above Sote’s head.
It came plummeting toward Yiluo Enya.
“OVERGROWTH!”
She reacted quickly, summoning Vine Magic to rise beneath her and taking cover behind it.
But the Ice Block still struck the very roots of the vines, shaking Yiluo Enya precariously on top.
“You think hiding up there will save you? Fine, try this on for size!”
Sote was furious.
“GIANT ICE METEOR! COME!”
The moment he spoke, a hundred small but uniform ice orbs appeared in the sky.
They rained down on Yiluo Enya like a storm.
At the center of the sky, a small ice Core formed.
Under Sote’s control, it continuously absorbed the surrounding Magic Power, swelling larger and larger.
The ice orbs smashed into the ground, leaving craters and thunderous booms.
With no other choice, Yiluo Enya had to leap down and dodge frantically.
“Running won’t save you! I will avenge my fallen comrade!!”
“You guys, hold her back! I’m charging up—once it’s complete, we win!”
“Yes, Captain!”
‘Trying to charge up? Not a chance!’
To protect herself, Yiluo Enya decided to take them all out.
“ALL THINGS HAVE SPIRIT · MOUNTAINS CRUMBLE AND EARTH SPLITS!”
The entire ground began to tremble, growing more violent by the second.
Cracks started forming across the earth.
That was exactly what Yiluo Enya wanted.
She extended the fissures straight to Sote’s feet, using the terrain to interrupt his spellcasting.
To her surprise, it actually worked.
Sote felt the ground beneath him shaking with increasing intensity, seemingly anticipating the split.
He voluntarily ended his cast and dodged, hurling the incomplete ice orb away.
“Take this!”
“ALL THINGS HAVE SPIRIT · GUARD!”
The Magic hadn’t fully formed, so its power was drastically reduced.
Yiluo Enya refused to back down.
She took the hit head-on, unwilling to let anyone look down on her.
With a thunderous explosion, the Ice Block shattered into pieces, bursting apart.
