Chapter 16: Shelter

The Wolf and the Orc Captain both let out a growl in perfect unison, then began charging at them menacingly.

“Hey, that bastard looks like he’s about to jump over the wall!”

“O-Oppa, what do we do?”

While Jeonghu and Seoyoung froze in panic, Junga suddenly stepped forward.

“What are you doing?”

“What do you think! We have to stop them! Attack! Attack! Attack!”

No sooner had Jeonghu shouted than Junga spread her hands, and countless blocks appeared in the sky, tumbling down in a torrent.

The Orc Captain easily swept away the falling blocks above his head with a swing of his Halberd.

Not stopping for a moment, he continued his charge straight toward the wall.

“Eek!”

Gritting her teeth at the approaching foe, Junga started creating even more blocks and dropping them.

As blocks the size of a person’s head began to fall from the sky like hail, only then did the Orc Captain halt his advance, frantically batting away the blocks.

Meanwhile, Junga raised her other hand and began stacking the wall even higher.

As the enormous mental strain began to take its toll, Junga’s face turned bright red.

“You’re doing great, Junga. Just hang in there a little longer!”

It was no easy feat. Who could do two things at once all alone?

Yet, Junga, who thought the world was simple, was pulling it off.

Seoyoung said with a regretful expression.

“If only she used that focus on studying instead of games……..”

“Ah, Unni!”

“……Sorry.”

At her sister’s words, Junga’s focus faltered for a moment, and she neglected stacking the blocks.

The Orc Captain didn’t miss that opening and hurled his Axe at the Observation Tower.

“Hey, duck!”

As the spinning Axe flew menacingly toward them, Jeonghu urgently pressed his two sisters’ heads down, narrowly avoiding the Axe.

At that moment, the Orc Captain yanked the Wolf’s reins and charged at the wall.

From the start, the Orc Captain never intended to hit all three of them.

He had simply waited for the moment when Junga’s blocks would stop, her vision blocked.

In that brief instant when the blocks ceased, the Orc Captain dashed up to the wall and leaped high.

“Eek!”

Spotting this too late, Jeonghu raised his gun at the Orc, while Seoyoung quickly fired a Fireball.

The Orc roared and swung his Halberd.

As the Fireball exploded and bullets ricocheted, the Orc Captain’s gaze remained fixed on the siblings.

With his subordinates dead and himself struggling, his eyes, bloodshot with rage, blazed with murderous intent.

“Damn it!”

Thinking there was no way to resist that terrifying momentum, Jeonghu desperately shielded his sisters without a second thought.

In that moment.

The sound of a car suddenly echoed, and Seoyoung, in Jeonghu’s arms, snapped her eyes open.

“Da……d?”

Was it Yohan?

“Yiaaaaaaaah!”

It wasn’t.

“Se, Sejeong!”

“Makdoong!”

“Hey!”

The siblings all screamed as they called the youngest.

Whatever trick Sejeong had pulled, she was riding a KartRider kart, leaping onto the top of the wall.

“You bastard!”

If she charged in midair like that, she’d crash right into the Orc.

As her brother and sister watched in shock, something appeared in Sejeong’s hand.

It was a bomb that looked like it had popped straight out of a comic or game.

Sejeong hurled the sooty bomb, its fuse sparkling, right at the Orc Captain’s face, then twisted the steering wheel in midair and slammed the accelerator.

KWAANG!

The moment she floored the accelerator, the booster fired, flames shooting from the back of the kart, and Sejeong drifted safely into the shelter.

As Sejeong landed safely inside the shelter—

The bomb exploded, blasting the Orc Captain backward, sending him rolling across the ground.

“Wow! That was a kart item, right? That’s insane!”

Caught off guard by the unexpected backup, Jeonghu stuck his thumb up at Sejeong.

“Did I do good?”

“You’re the best!”

While Sejeong grinned, the Orc Captain, who’d been rolling on the ground, struggled to get up.

He was charred black, but didn’t seem seriously injured.

His armor was cracked and battered here and there, but apparently it had enough defense to withstand the bomb.

As the Orc Captain moved, his Chest Armor broke off and fell to the ground, and the Orc Captain stomped on it with a snarl.

At the low growl, Jeonghu’s face hardened again as he shouted.

“It’s not over yet!”

The Orc Captain, rising with the Wolf, raised his Halberd high and pointed at the shelter.

The remaining Orcs and the Orc Captain all roared at once, charging at the shelter.

As the three siblings watched the enemies running at them with weapons in hand, they swallowed dryly.

Sejeong climbed up to the Observation Tower.

“Geez! I said move!”

“Why? Wait, why did you bring those guys?”

Sejeong was holding Janggooni and Meonggooni in her arms.

As Jeonghu looked at the still-squirming, adorable pups in confusion, Sejeong set Janggooni and Meonggooni down on the Observation Tower.

The two, who’d been whining, suddenly opened their eyes wide and stood up.

They were only a few days old, but as monsters, they grew much faster than normal dogs.

They stood up straight, wagging their little tails adorably, looking like they were already two or three months old.

Janggooni and Meonggooni started growling low at the Orcs.

As if, for such young pups, they’d encountered their sworn enemies.

Jeonghu had seen their mother’s laser from afar before.

Though compared to their mother’s, this was nothing, the fact that pups barely a week old could do this was shocking.

And while it was laughable compared to their mom, to the Orcs, it was more powerful than guns or Fireballs.

One Orc, heart pierced, fell limply, while another’s sword melted instantly.

“They were playing together before, shooting those lasers for fun!”

Sejeong puffed out her chest proudly, having spent the most time with Janggooni and Meonggooni.

“Wow…… That’s amazing. You—no, you and Janggooni and Meonggooni really pulled your weight!”

“Pulled my weight? I’m better than you, oppa!”

“Oh, fine. I admit it!”

Jeonghu quickly nodded and raised his gun.

What had seemed like forty Orcs was now less than half, and even the Orc Captain was hesitating at those lasers.

Apparently, he’d judged that even his Halberd couldn’t block Janggooni and Meonggooni’s lasers.

Pant pant pant, kking, kking.

After fighting off many Orcs with their lasers, both pups were panting heavily, tongues lolling, unable to shoot any more.

“Aww, tired already?”

Half regretful, half worried, Sejeong scooped them into her arms, while Jeonghu yelled.

As Jeonghu aimed his gun at the Orc Captain, Seoyoung and Junga spoke up tearfully.

Seoyoung, having fired an unprecedented number of Fireballs, had run out of mana, and Junga, using both money and mental power, was suffering a severe headache, barely conscious.

As Jeonghu despaired, his face pale.

With the siblings’ attacks stopped, the Orc Captain cocked his head, then bared his teeth in a wicked grin and swung his Halberd wide.

“Sh*t……. Is he laughing at us?”

Jeonghu, who rarely swore in front of his siblings, muttered in despair.

“Don’t we have any more Grenades?”

“No Grenades, just a Smoke Bomb.”

As the enemies closed in, radiating murderous intent as if this was truly the end, Jeonghu bit his lip hard.

“Why is the guy who went to get the generator taking so long!”

As the family stared, mouths agape and dumbfounded at their father who had felled the monster in a single blow, Yohan grabbed the Heavenly Demon Spear and charged at the remaining Orcs, finishing them off.

When Yohan, having wrapped things up in an instant, let out a sigh and looked back at the shelter, his eyes, which had turned black, had returned to normal.

“Is everyone alright?”

“Father! What took you so long!”
