Unified Divine Realm.
Hall of the Performance Review Committee.
“Beep beep~ Primrose, Apprentice God, verification successful. Congratulations on clocking in. This is your fifth day in the Unified Divine Realm!”
Primrose stood in front of the god-sized time clock, staring at the jumping numbers, feeling a surge of irritation.
She really didn’t want to work this dead-end job for even one more day.
Five days ago, she had arrived in the Unified Divine Realm for the first time. A group of beings calling themselves high-ranking gods told her:
“Your surgery was a success. You’re now a girl… a goddess.”
The Lower Worlds kept collapsing, and gods were needed to lead Transmigrators to save them.
Gods couldn’t directly intervene to eliminate crises. They had to guide the Transmigrators to complete the missions.
That was her job.
She looked down at the heavy weight on her chest, at the white Sage’s Divine Robe she wore, and then at the silver hair reaching down to her waist.
This was originally a max-level female character she had built in an online game. The strongest human sage on the entire server.
Fantasy Divine Domain. A game everyone agreed was trash.
The reason? The development team didn’t bother coming up with better ways to curb stat inflation. They just kept creating items and skills that either surpassed or countered the previous version’s meta.
You also had to spend a ton of money and grind a ton to get them. Unless your family owned a mine, there was no way to keep playing.
In the end, the game met its rightful end and shut down.
But who would have guessed that on the day the servers closed, she just sat a little longer at her computer, wanting to stay with her max-level self-made character until the very end. Then, between one blink and the next, she had become that female character she had created.
And then this so-called Unified Divine Realm claimed she had died suddenly and dragged her in to be a low-level working god.
She had just been an ordinary high school girl who liked playing games…
According to the Unified Divine Realm’s rules, a god had to lead three Transmigrators and save three worlds within one year.
Originally, the idea of becoming a beautiful goddess and gallivanting through another world, using her power to dominate, was kind of interesting.
But this divine realm had way too many rules. She couldn’t fight herself. She could only buff the Transmigrators.
In other words, even though she had inherited her super SSS+ combat power from the game, she could only use support skills to help the Transmigrators conquer the other world.
‘How to put it?’ It was a bit like an experienced player guiding a newbie, helping them learn the game, watching them slowly grow stronger. Maybe that wouldn’t be so bad?
Still, her Transmigrator hadn’t shown up yet.
Primrose opened her Divine Status Panel.
[Divine Rank: Apprentice God (Note: Apprentice God, Lower God, Middle God, Upper God, Supreme God)]
[KPI Progress: 0/3]
[Transmigrators Pending Reception: 1]
[Time Remaining in Current Assessment Period: 360 days]
If she couldn’t complete the three-world salvation KPI within a year, her Divine Rank would be stripped, and she would be demoted to the Lower Worlds to live as a goblin.
“Primrose, your first mission has been assigned.”
Just then, a fat manager with wings flew over and shoved a scroll into her hand impatiently.
“This is a world overrun by the Demon Race. Your goal is to defeat the Demon King.”
“The Transmigrator you’re in charge of is about to get hit by a truck in the Lower World. Get to the reception site immediately.”
“Remember, gods cannot directly eliminate world crises. You must guide the Transmigrator to complete the mission. Go, don’t mess this up.”
“Honestly, can these newbie gods just already know the answers to all the questions? That would save me the trouble of explaining every little thing.”
By the time the fat manager finished his last sentence, he had already turned around and walked some distance away.
He always treated new gods like this, to prevent them from asking questions that were clearly idiotic.
Primrose’s face scrunched up in exasperation. Damn it, were these supposed gods really reliable?
If new gods already knew the answers to everything, why would they need someone to explain things? He might as well fire himself.
Once she became the Supreme God, she was going to fix this kind of toxic workplace culture.
Primrose helplessly opened the scroll in her hand.
But it wasn’t a sheepskin scroll. It was a golden, transparent magical artifact.
It looked just like the Divine Status Panel she had opened earlier, similar to a system interface.
Target World Name for the Mission: Elami Continent
World Difficulty: SSS (God-Slaying Level)
“Pfft—!”
Primrose had only read the second line before she spat out a mouthful of golden blood.
‘Are you kidding me?’
‘God… God-Slaying Level?’
‘And they just casually handed it to her?’
Primrose looked up, but the fat manager was already out of sight.
‘Was the Unified Divine Realm this terrifying?’
‘Were all first-time missions for newbie gods triple-S rank?’
And also…
‘Elami Continent?’
‘Wasn’t that the name of the continent in Fantasy Divine Domain?’
‘A coincidence?’
With no answers, Primrose had no choice but to raise her hand and tear open a portal, stepping through.
She’d worry about meeting her assigned Transmigrator first.
The scenery shifted before her eyes, and the screech of brakes and the screams of the crowd flooded her ears.
Primrose stood midair, her form transparent, looking down.
A large truck was stopped at an intersection. Lying on the ground was a petite figure with pink hair, surrounded by a pool of blood.
This was the Transmigrator chosen by the Unified Divine Realm.
Primrose descended. Her divine power automatically blocked the view of the surrounding mortals.
She walked over to the pink-haired figure, ready to go through the motions and pull the soul into the other world.
But when she got a clear look at the person’s face, she froze on the spot.
Pink shoulder-length hair. A small, cowlick-like strand. Purple eyes.
A legal loli standing only one meter forty tall. But those features, that outline…
Primrose felt her mind explode with a loud bang.
Mom?!
Lin Naiyue. Thirty-two years old. Primrose’s biological mother from the original world.
Primrose stared at the small body on the ground, her pupils and hands trembling.
Just then, Lin Naiyue’s soul left her body and slowly opened her eyes.
Her gaze was dazed. She looked around, then her eyes landed on Primrose.
Lin Naiyue stared at Primrose’s face, then at her intricate, magnificent white Sage’s Divine Robe.
Finally, her gaze came to rest on the heavy Magic Tome in Primrose’s hand.
Primrose’s heart skipped a beat.
Back when she used to play games at home, her mom would often walk behind her computer with a fruit plate and watch.
This outfit, this appearance—there was no way her mom hadn’t seen it countless times.
Lin Naiyue blinked, her eyes slowly widening as she spoke, “Son… is that you?”
Her voice was trembling badly.
If she hadn’t just witnessed the scene, Primrose would have turned to stone on the spot, forcing every muscle in her face to stay rigid and never admit it.
After all, if her own mother found out she had turned into a girl and was working as a low-level god here, the joke would be huge.
And now she was a goddess of the Unified Divine Realm. If anyone found out she was a gender-swapped guy, her image would be completely ruined.
Even though the gods who had summoned her already knew, they had all promised to keep their mouths shut.
But then again…
You only know what you had once you’ve lost it.
Seeing her mother lying in a pool of blood, she truly felt the weight of those words.
At least now she had the power to make things right.
Primrose took a deep breath, stepped forward, crouched down, and wrapped her arms around Lin Naiyue.
Both of them were silent for a moment.
“You have died in the original world. Your physical body has been destroyed. You are now chosen to become a Hero to save another world. Go to that world and rescue its people.”
“Mom… I died too, by accident. I just ended up a god.”
