The next moment, Vivian pushed open the door and walked out slowly.
The black nun’s habit was a bit too large, hanging loosely on her petite frame, covering her ankles and trailing a small section on the floor.
This was an old item Derek had dug up from the warehouse, originally meant for an adult woman.
In the past, the church had been strapped for cash, always running at a deficit, so he hadn’t hired any nuns and had handled everything himself.
Now that a large sum of money had come in and a new church was about to be completed, Derek had put the matter back on the agenda.
“Well? Do I look good?”
Vivian gently lifted the hem of her skirt, spun around in place, and stared straight at Nolan with hopeful eyes.
From her neck to her toes, the girl’s body was wrapped tightly.
This nun’s habit wasn’t the modified special-request type seen in Japanese works; instead, it was a traditional style representing solemnity and asceticism.
As a vampire, Vivian was unharmed by anything except sunlight and silver items.
A circle of silver embroidery thread adorned the collar and cuffs, and a silver cross pendant hung on her chest, tapping lightly against her sternum as she walked, producing a faint, crisp sound.
Watching Vivian show off her new outfit, Nolan was momentarily stunned, his eyes fixed on her.
‘Maybe it’s because I’m at a higher level,’ he thought silently to himself.
He quickly shook his head, tossing all stray thoughts out of his mind.
Regarding Vivian’s appearance, I have two points to make:
First: I am not a lolicon, nor could I ever be obsessed with some dark-style vampire loli nun.
Second: She is really cute…
The holy profession of a nun and the evil, eerie identity of a vampire created an extreme contrast.
The pitch-black, solemn habit paired with her pale, silver-toned skin was both sacred and noble.
Add to that Vivian’s fidgeting little hands and her blushing, flushed round face.
Just…
Cute to the point of explosion!
“Hmm, it’s okay…”
Nolan parted his lips slightly, giving his most genuine evaluation.
The light of hope in Vivian’s eyes gradually dimmed, and her tone carried disappointment.
“Really… I thought…”
She lowered her head, and the black hood fell forward, covering most of her small face, making her expression unreadable.
Taking small, shuffling steps, she walked over to Nolan, slowly took his hand, and then looked up.
“I thought you’d really like it. Looks like I was being too optimistic.”
She forced a weak smile, gazing at him with watery, glistening eyes.
As soon as she finished speaking, Vivian watched a thin stream of red blood slowly trickle from Nolan’s nose.
“Sorry, I need to take back what I said.”
Nolan casually raised his hand to wipe away the nosebleed, paused slightly, and then assumed a very formal tone.
“Allow me to re-evaluate. Vivian, you… are really, truly cute!”
“Really?”
The dim light in Vivian’s eyes burst forth again.
“I swear by Elios, that’s truer than the true god himself.”
‘Damn it! When did this happen?’
‘That vampire girl must have hypnotized me again.’
Nolan roared in his mind.
‘I clearly remember I don’t like this flat, board-like figure.’
‘Nor could I possibly like such a childish, round, unformed little face.’
‘And that soft little belly…’
‘That’s right, I definitely don’t like that smooth, soft, slightly chubby belly.’
‘I’ve absolutely been hypnotized by this evil undead again.’
‘When did she see through my flawless disguise?’
‘Hmph! She’s even using such dirty tricks to test me. Then I’ll play along.’
“Which part of me is the cutest?”
Vivian lifted her eyes, staring at him with big, sparkling eyes.
“Sorry, I can’t say…”
Nolan opened his arms, pulled Vivian into an embrace, and rested his chin on the top of her head.
He brought his nose close to the ends of her hair, flared his nostrils, and took a deep breath of the unique, cool fragrance emanating from Vivian.
“This… is cute.”
“Oh? So you’re just brushing me off~”
She dragged out her tone, raised her pitch, and puffed out her cheeks in dissatisfaction.
“No, it’s because I can’t choose.”
Nolan closed his eyes, silently feeling her cold, corpse-like body temperature.
“Your fluffy hair—I like it. Touching it is like soft clouds in the sky.”
“That chubby cheek—I like it too. Poking it is like jelly.”
“Your flat little chest is definitely the most perfect curve I’ve ever seen, the pinnacle of a female figure.”
“And that slightly protruding belly—smooth and icy cold, like a little cake stored in an ice cave for ten thousand years.”
“All of these are cute…”
He opened his eyes, his gaze meeting Vivian’s dark red irises in the air, filled with tenderness.
“And also…”
Vivian’s cheeks instantly flushed red, spreading from her neck to her ears.
“Ahhh! This! This can’t be said!”
Her head exploded like a boiling kettle, releasing a burst of hot steam.
She quickly reached out and covered Nolan’s mouth, afraid that if he continued, he would say something indecent.
“Okay, okay, I know what’s the cutest. Please, just don’t say any more.”
She squeezed her eyes shut, letting out a sharp screech.
Vivian’s eyes spun like two large mosquito coils, her whole body dizzy.
After a long while, the heat on her face still hadn’t subsided, and her eyes darted away from Nolan’s gaze.
She just lowered her head and peeked, as timid as a rat in a sewer.
Nolan watched her embarrassed and indignant expression with interest, secretly amused.
‘What the heck? Looks like I have some talent for pretending to be a lolicon after all.’
His self-evaluation involuntarily rose a notch.
From the side, Derek clapped his hands, breaking the ambiguous atmosphere and drawing the attention of the two in front of him.
“I say, you two, enough with the flirting.”
“The citizens in the city are in dire straits. Every second we delay could mean more casualties.”
He pointed at the raging blizzard outside the door, speaking helplessly.
“Right, right. I’m off now. You hurry too!”
Vivian quickly nodded in agreement.
Like a criminal eager to flee the scene, she dashed toward the door.
Then…
thud
“Ow, jeez!”
Vivian performed a flat fall in front of everyone.
She had tripped on the overly long hem of the nun’s habit.
Derek turned around, looking worriedly at the spot where Vivian had fallen.
“Um… is the floor okay…”
He had just laid that new floor yesterday—
Stone transported all the way from the distant Tal Mountains.
He hadn’t even had a chance to walk on it much himself;
He hoped Vivian hadn’t cracked it…
Thinking of the dwindling gold coins in his reserve, his heart ached.
Vivian scrambled up from the floor, scratching her head awkwardly.
“Haha~ The floor’s fine.”
Rip—
She directly tore off the troublesome hem and tossed it aside.
“I’m going to the orphanage. Handle any problems yourselves. Don’t disturb me while I’m playing with the kids.”
With that, Vivian’s figure charged into the blizzard, instantly swallowed and disappearing from sight.
“In that case, I’ll go complete my part of the work too. Goodbye, Pastor Derek.”
Nolan turned and bowed to Derek.
Before leaving, Nolan took one last look at Talia encased in ice and murmured softly.
“Don’t worry, we’ll see a lively and kicking Talia soon.”
“Yeah, keep warm.”
Derek nodded.
“I hope Miss Talia can wake up soon.”
“Don’t worry, we’ll see a lively and kicking Talia soon.”
Derek gave a gentle smile and waved goodbye to Nolan.
He watched him leave until Nolan’s figure vanished into the blizzard.
